Do you have a home library? Do you want to?

If home library means a metric fuckton of books stacked in the corner, yes.
>>
I have 1500 books and I've reached my limit. Unless I get a bigger apartment/house my book buying is over and realistically I don't see how I could be able to upgrade.
>>
no but some day
>>
>>25269591
Just sell the old ones lol
>>
>>25269597
I actually recently made a catalog and threw away the ones I'm willing to let go of. Sadly all the rest I want to keep.

I have a few separate bookshelves and boxes of my books. I'd love to have a proper home library, I've just got to buy a house that can contain one.
>>
>>25269601
thirdie here. do y'all not have dust in your country? i see bookshelves like these and just think I'd be dusting it almost everyday, enough to start disliking the whole thing
>>
>>25270214
The funny thing about dusting is that it's very quick and easy to do when you do it every day and don't let it accumulate.
>>

How can you have an aesthetic library with modern book covers?

I have a room and some cheap bookshelves. It's not enough for all my books.
I have bags full of them under my bed, my closet is full and there are books behind the front books on the shelves.
The room is a mess right now because I was sorting out some books.

I jettisoned every book I didn't think I would ever revisit and still had too many taking up space in my house. I would love a dedicated room to turn into a library, but I probably won't ever get that. Currently most of my books are stored in boxes in my parents basement, which is sad.

yes, but it's just old biology and biochemistry textbooks on some ikea shelves. It's definitely not as cool as that one.
>>
>>25270619
is that bookstore in Jimbocho? Been meaning to go check out some of the shops there, a few of them apparently have good selections of English books
>>
>>25270801
Yes. Specialize in horror, mystery, gothic, science fiction, etc. The English corner is at the end of the left aisle.

Sweet, thanks. Just throwing it out there but would you be interested in a tokyo /lit/ meetup at some point? I wouldn't mind making some friends who aren't the standard anime enthusiasts one finds here.

Not the guy you're replying to but I speak/read/write 3 languages and yet my bookcase is exclusively in English, because that's what I enjoy reading in. Curious
>>
>>25269421
I might get a house in the next year, and it would be nice to have one, but I do think it might be too much of an indulgent fantasy that will go to waste. I will likely just find a more reasonable use for the space.
>>
>research library, thematic focus
>personal canon (mostly for the benefit of educating children)

It's a nice luxury to have the floor to cieling book case study space, but in truth one only really needs a fraction of it out and available at one time; by all means have as many as you value, but they'll be fine in storage.

His broken heart
Shattered repeatedly
Whatever was broken was shattered further
Constantly he knew nothing but pain
She saw something in him
She would talk to him
He didn’t want her to hurt him like the others
He tried to get her to stop
At the same time, he wanted her to keep trying
His soul kept on pushing him towards her
Her soul was pushing her to him
His shattered heart was in many tiny pieces
He tried to give her his heart
She cut him off
Others told her his trouble
Her soul tried to get her to reconsider
She cared about what others thought of her
He lost his mind
His life went on a downward spiral
He drank and did anything to forget
His life spiraled
His hands and broken heart carried on for years
Then she gave him a glimmer of hope
He couldn’t accept it
He wasn’t strong enough anymore
He found her
His feelings for her were too strong
He waited for the moment
Went into her house
She tried to scream
No one heard her
She struggled
He cared for her but he needed her
Tears flowed through both of their eyes
He put one hand to hold her mouth and the other her hands
He didn’t want to hurt her
He was in love
She wasn’t
He took her
She was in pain
Then she started to succumb
She gently rubbed her finger gently on his arm
He let go of her
She hugged and wrapped herself around him
Their souls connected
She realized that it was her who he needed
His broken soul
So hopeless and sad
His soul roared in pain
Her pure soul
Her soul knew what it was
She realized what her reason was
She held him close
Their souls danced
They saw the universe
They were not human
She held him close
Both held each other close
The climax was coming
They felt they were both one
He hugged her aggressively
She hugged him gently
Like a mother caring for her child
He fell on her
She tried to care for him
She knew he did something awful
He couldn’t hold it anymore
He cried out
He ran and she chased after him
She was in love as well now
He ran to the roof ready to end it all
At the edge he was ready
He couldn’t believe this is what he had become
That once sad poor boy
That one pure hearted boy
He was now a monster
She finally caught up
She called out for him
He looked back
She cried “I love you”
She ran to him
She hugged him with tears in her eyes
He realized this really was love
He had the resolve that this was what he wanted
But her gentle touch broke all of that
He just wanted her warmth

If he was grooming them, he'd leave the Sade within reach
