I'm watching Munich: The Edge of War on Netflix right now, which contains depictions of Neville Chamberlain, Adolf Hitler, and Benito Mussolini. In comparison, I can't ever, ever imagine them making films about or even involving President Trump in the future. He doesn't even seem like a real person. I feel like any depiction of him in (historical) fiction will always be considered too ridiculous.

Hearing loss is the disability that hurts me the most. I would rather talk to a deaf person than someone hard of hearing, at least I wouldn't have to raise my voice. The raising of my voice is associated with losing control, and I have lost control before just because I was made to raise my voice. You needing me to speak louder, is a direct ambush on my sense of self-control, DO YOU HEAR THAT!?

Considering dying my hair blonde. I worry I'll look too midlife crisis-y and "I'm a young person, like you all!" since I'm 31, but I look like I'm in my mid-to-late 20s so should be fine... and if I don't do it now, then I'll never do it later in life. I don't know, just randomly got the impulse this morning.

if it takes a thousand years for toilet paper to advance and one year for toothbrushes to advance, can you toilet paper your toothbrush narrative?
>>
>>25277514
Literally do whatever the fuck you want. You can make anything work except trench coats and katanas. Other than that, you’re good
>>
I've never dyed my hair.
>>
>>25277525
Thank you, anon.
>>
>>25277522
When read literally, that's obviously not a question about the inner mind. However, the fact it makes sense to you, and that you send it to me as what comes out as a 'cryptic and unknowable sentence' or godforbid 'gobbeldygook', is because our minds use the exact same function across image, word, sound, touch, feel, idea - which is ASSOCIATION. The primary operation of the human mind. So you have your associations, and I have mine. If you spent some amount of words telling little stories that taught me what toilet paper means to you, or just told me plainly, i would the same associations as you and i would know exactly what you mean. It's actually the same process by which I explained this to you right now. The only process - association. Then follows explanation by prior association to create complex association, also known as 'an understanding' especially between people. Get it? You can actually retroactively transform my understanding and association (and therefore ideation) of that sentence, and change my actual mind by developing an association, by explaining what you meant now. See? You can even illuminate dead old sentences using new association. Even the sentences of others.

>>
>>25277562
Obviously. I'm talking about portrayals in future fiction. He seems too cartoonish. Can you imagine the man contemplating anything, taking a moment of self-reflection? lol

but then if you make him look too poorly, then it hurts the dramatic and aesthetic merit of the character. I'm just saying, it seems like an impossible task.
>>
When we think of Roman Emperors often the first two that come to mind are the two most infamous. If you were to name five Roman Emperors these two would doubtlessly, on average, be amongst them.
Now think about five US Presidents and see what you got.
>>
>>25277544
I’m assuming you’re a neet? Being a neet can be hell for your overall self esteem, anon. I don’t recommend it
>>
I kind of wanted to write about a renaissance sculptor who is average in all ways and how hes forgetten by time but his consciousness can still talk about the present, like maybe he was borderline going to make a masterpiece or just another piece of slop from his era. Idk a book about the eternal average person? Idk much about that era besides the big names and kind of wondered how the people who live in the shadows of those big names might feel. Never wroyr before
>>
>>25277567
Yes, I understand, I was getting at how would a portrayal of Caligula or Nero not be as you’ve described. It’s possible, like how truth is stranger than fiction, like the platypus
>>
>>25277574
It's gonna be perfect once I get my shit together. I'll have all the time to read and research instead of spending 10% of the day actually reading and the rest browsing on internet. I'll be unstoppable once that happens

I thought the process of dying one's hair only cost like $15 or whatever, from one of those boxes you get from the store, but when I brought up the idea to my mother, she said you have to go to a professional salon or such and it costs like $50 to $100. What!? Perhaps it's just her way of discouraging me from doing it. Well, if this is true, it's working. It's really that expensive? The real sticking point is if it's that expensive, then it makes it harder to revert back to my black hair if I don't like it, as opposed to simply buying two boxes of hair dye, which is how I assumed it's done.
>>
>>25277575
well obviously you should time travel mentally into the body and state of a renaissance sculptor, and instead of accusing your poor renaissance/self of some form of mental illness, admit that you and he (or you/he) share in the same sort of conciousness and that is why your mind brought you to him. Because you and he are so much the same, at least enough for him to appear to you and you to want to go back to him and for you to dream of him coming here to see us now
>>
>>25277575
Do you mean his consciousness is still alive like some kind of sci fi trope? And he’s observing the current world like a time traveller.
I’ve read series where soldiers have their consciousness copied onto a kind of disc and if they die in battle the disc is put inside basically an android/golem
>>
>>25277595
Oh yeah women do be spending money at the salon. Or would you rather have your friend do it? There is a point where you see the need for salons.
>>
>>25277596
This could explain multiple personalities, they are all real people in separate bodies at various times who for some unknown reason can inhabit each other somewhat. It’s not the standard explanation
>>
>>25277603
Well, whenever I've seen my mother do it, she just does it on her own in the bathroom/shower. When I brought that up to her, however, she said that's for when you're refreshing the color you already have or whatever. If you want to fully dye it a new color, it's as much more involved and expensive process, and not something you just buy in a box for $15. If it was $15 at the store, I'd be down to do it. But more expensive and involved than that, ehh... guess I'll have to look into it.
>>
>>25277606
Look I'll you level with you buddy, in order to write this story you have to realize you have already conceptually time traveled back in time to the renaissance through your conception of this character, that you doing this on your own represents a real kinship in what a person like that was doing then, and now you have conceptualized the man looking back at you. You already have your character. You wrote that, and are living it. You are currently time-and-mind-linked to your character. So, work with that, whether you create a modern character for him to be linked to that's 'you', or if you leave your personal character blank and just a dream of your fictional character
Because no matter what, this Renaissance Man is ONLY EVER GOING TO BE YOUR OWN HEADMATE, DREAMING YOU ARE HIS HEADMATE
AND THAT'S CALLED WRITING
>>
>>25277607
I don't know sounds like she knows what she's talking about. She knows more than both of us. Feel free to try whatever but its risky fucking around with your hair

Less in a scifi sense and more of like a ghost sense? Some kind of metaphysical phenomena? Like others dont know hes there and hes not paranormal, like some kind of “feeling” of never quite making it being reflected through the decades. I kind of envision that he dies in his home and that he sees what goes on from there and sees how his shitty little sculpting studio has evolved and he circles on this one point of the studio that had his potential masterpiece always regretting it and seeing others walk in that very spot never aware of it or himself. A renaissance man taken at its most plain buy projected into the future. Idk I sound retarded and maybe had to much caffeine

I think I lost my only friend. Since I started working really hard on my dreams, I don't spend time on multiplayer games / getting drunk and chilling anymore. You would expect him to be supportive since he's my friend, but he seems to not care at all when I talk about the progress Ive made, and he never messages first now, and when he does reply to stuff it takes 2-5 minutes whereas it used to be instant. It feels like he wants me to fuck off and stop messaging him. I don't get it man. Is my crime really just maturing and trying to do more with my life than play video games?

okay you know how you pay for a house you can't afford the full price of, by paying monthly to a creditor or bank who can afford the full cost up-front, and lets you by the house you otherwise can't afford, for the exchange of he skimming a little off the top?
Well, the house is the conversation. But you need a second person to have a conversation, right? That's me, and I'm also the bank. Because I choose to afford the ATTENTION THAT I PAY. I PAY ALL THE ATTENTION in good faith that you will CONTINUOUSLY PAY BACK that attention in smaller parts, so that I CAN LET YOU HAVE THIS CONVERSATION YOU WANTED and what I get out of it is you PAY a LITTLE EXTRA ATTENTION to ME, OVER TIME. Have you paid? Have you ever paid anything back!? Even your fucking hair that's so important to you? Not even $100!?!? Why don't you pay your mother back for the help you asked and turned away? Why don't you pay me?
Because what happens when you can't pay be back the attention we gave you?

Thank you for listening. This is your final sentence.

Translated my today's diary entry to English with the help of chatgpt (sorry) :

The deepest pain a person can feel is when he finally realizes that he is no longer a child—no longer someone who can simply exist with the privilege of being loved unconditionally by his family, by his whole world. What have I done except grow into a man who feels miserable? A man who is no one’s favorite child, no one’s favorite son, nephew, brother, or friend.
My chest caved in when I realized that you no longer chose to visit me—the lovely younger sister who used to be my best friend in childhood. I loved you as my own blood. There was no suffering my heart could have endured more than the pain you brought, even without knowing it. And yet, I still love you. I am happy that you have found a better place and better people, buddy.
But now, I can see it in you—you don’t love me the way you used to anymore. I am still your elder brother, someone who sees so much of himself reflected in you, like a mirror image. There would never be another person who could relate to you more deeply than I can. This kind of distance, this quiet contempt—it could have come from anyone else in our family, but I never thought it would come from you, because I love you.
I always believed you understood me better than anyone else. But I will never tell you this, because I do not want to hurt you too.
At least, I wish I were a foolish person—someone too blind to notice any of this. Someone who would never have to carry the weight of this realization
>>
>>25277845
Oh yeah, that's a doozy of a feeling. You seem to really grasp what you're looking at though. My young brother moved away to California because you know what he got a job at Rockstar Games, yeah really! And the strangest thing of all is he doesn't know if he's doing the right thing. I was telling him he made it. I don't know if he knows. Costs more than a thousand dollars to see him and it takes days. Wonderful entry, both in diary and to more and more life, don't you think?
Also because you posted an Asian you are Asian
>>
videogames and jerking off is based and better than books and reading
>>
>>25277866

Hypothetically, if I went back in time and gave my 12-year-old self a handjob, is that masturbation or rape? It is me, but since I'm not homosexual, my 12-year-old self would think I'm being raped, but it's literally me. If you masturbate yourself and think your hand is raping you, then that would be a mental delusion and not reality. Keep in mind this is a hypothetical for philosophical purposes.
>>
>>25277881
I think you'd probably complete the time loop and become the pervert you'd have to be to molest your young self by having been molested by your pervert self as a youth, sounds like balance to me. Kill yourself in the end and it's a one-loop cycle of abuse ended right there.
>>
I'm past my prime, which kind of sucks.
My body's flabby, my teeth are yellowed, my hair is graying, and I have no real desire for improvement.
I also haven't been with a woman in almost nine years, when they used to enter my life almost serendipitously and with relative ease.
A part of my recoils at the fact that I'm growing used the isolation and deterioration, where I'm started to prefer the peace.
>>
>>25277887
That's a paradox, though. How did I come to molest myself in the initial time travel if that's what caused me to have that motivation?
>>
>>25277895
because in the past you arrived from the future-
You know what as a matter of fact i'm not even going to help you molest yourself. You don't even get it. Help a guy fuck himself and this is what I get? Jesus fuckin Christ buddy

Meditation and i mean it and its easy. You’ll be done and inoculated in an hour from now. Sit down close your eyes and let the stray thoughts bounce off you like rain off ducks. You gonna reply? >>
>>25277958
I'm not responding to you anymore. You're not taking this philosophical problem seriously.
>>
>>25277963
What do want me to say? You suggest an impasse I suggest an answer! Basic laws of conversation or do you intend to leave this parenthetical unclosed forever? I remember winning a writing contest in 7th grade for something I just wrote in about an hour the night before submissions were due. It was about a banana and monkey having a space adventure, which was based on a comic my friend and I would make and read to our friends during lunch time. I never heard how it did when it was submitted to the state level, but I wish I still had that enthusiasm for writing, before I became entirely weighed down my self-criticism that suffocates any spark of inspiration.

I don’t think it’s meat, and I suspect it’s unclean to eat

Makes sense now. Masturbation really is self harm

Perhaps many problems of modern relationships stem from women and men overrating intellectual chemistry and underrating erotic chemistry because they think the latter is too shallow a base to build a relationship on instead of being the only real lingua franca between men and women. People should get together not because they like the same hipster bands but because their desire for each other is more powerful than any word could really hope to capture.

I'm so annoyed right now.

I was walking to the library when I saw a black cat on the corner, which I made a mental note of because there's been signs around the neighborhood for a lost black cat. So I got to the next sign, took a picture of it, and noticed it said, "last seen: Oct 16" which made it unlikely to be the same cat (8 months later? c'mon). However, I felt an intense guilt, so after I walked a few more blocks, I decided to turn around, and go looking for the cat. It took a couple loops, but I eventually found it, took a picture on my phone, and texted it to the number. It began to rain so I started to walk home, when I got the notification that the message failed to sent! It must be a call-only number! But now I'm home because it's raining and the cat's got knows where by now, so if I called now, I could just be wasting the person's time if they head out and can't find it, and then I'd feel terrible about that! So it's just a colossal fuckup in everyway.

Poor owners, poor kitty :( Maybe when it stops raining, I'll head back to that corner, see if I can find it again, and if so, call the number. Then again, 8 months is a long time, no way it's the same one, right?

pic, it's the picture I tried to send the # of the kitty

Oh, and obviously I didn't even get to go to the library, so it was a failure in every regard.

God I am so fucking horny. I am approaching middle age and I think I am hornier than I've ever been. If I could just fuck constantly I think I would. My wife and I have a good sex life but the obligations of real life obviously get in the way. All day I'm thinking about sex, every woman and many men that I see, I'm thinking about fucking them

I need a fucking sex slave. Right now. I want to chain a slut to a tree in the woods and beat the fucking shit out of her.

I never understood the appeal of physical violence. Yeah, sex slave, have her whenever you want, however you want. But why hurt them? Beyond the, y'know, humanity of it, why would you want to bloody, bruise, and disfigure the beautiful and erotic womanly form?
