People are quick to see conflict where it doesn't exist. In a story I wrote there's a scene where a girl is taking care of her best friend when he's sick. He asks her to smother him with a pillow (he's suicidal and is being sneaky) and she shoots him twice in a row with her glock saying he'll die even faster than he would without a bullet in his head. My readers thought she was trying to kill him or hinting at that she doesn't like him blah blah but in my mind it was just an innocent friendship moment. Female readers did the same shit not just guys. Why are readers like this?

It is not unreasonable for them to see conflict in such a situation
>>25289356No, they only have a platonic relationship. That's made clear through the book.
>>25289470The act of shooting someone in the head is way more violent and unecessary, especially when the guy requests to be smothered. No matter about the realities of which death is actually quicker or more painless, we associate shooting a gun as a violent act, and smothering (without resistance at least) as somehow more merciful.Being able to shoot your friend is not as psychologically relatable and suggests there's more to the picture.Whether you personal think so or not, most readers will see it that way.
>>25289493No, it wasn't written that way. It doesn't make sense to say there was conflict blah blah. Sorry. Please explain why you think there was conflict.
I'm getting fucking sick of gay anime shit being posted outside of the gay anime shit boards.
>>25289976Nobody is posting anime; calm down.
>>25289067>>25288235You already have an active thread asking some stupid question about how people will interpret your story. Why make another one?
