Hate the pilot cunt. The dialogue and plot is just terrible. I don't think I will bother finishing it, downloaded the whole thing, but deleted as soon as I was done with episode 2. I would watch several episodes of OG Macross a day. For this, 2 episodes felt like 2 hours.

I prefer Yamato III over Yamato II, mostly because it pulls a better balance between the adventure and war/disaster aspects.Not as good as the original, but still worth a shot.The only Space Battleship Yamato sequel that left me disappointed was Be Forever, and even then I still liked the "Future Earth" arc (basically an IMAX-scale version of the first season's brief forays into psychological warfare).

Do a lot of people like Macross Zero? I thought it was really good, but I am not sure if it's particularly beloved, feels like I hear more about every other entry besides 2 . I personally consider it my favorite entry in the franchise shortly followed by DYRL and 7.

Also in lieu of retconning any dates, they just brought the real world into Macross with F-14s and other conventional vehicles like that helicopter Satelight has been recycling for decades.
I really like Macross 2. Yeah it’s just the original show but with the serial numbers filed off but it’s got a likeable cast, some excellent suit designs, it’s nice and brisk and the music is great as always. Macross Cannon is the best ship design in the franchise

I still stand by everything in pic related, though the part about the interview being a ploy to prop up an unpopular entry is mostly speculation.As for the Shirow manga, I've only read the first volume and about half of Human Error Processor.
