The world needs more Patlabor.
>>22820020We already have a thread. Besides, Patlaboring was never good.
>>22820026>we
>>22820033He's right though, none of the entries are higher than 6/10.
>>22820040And you aren't taller than 5'5.
>>22820020yespainting patlabor bootlegs is my passion
>>22820058GotDANG he thick.
>>22820070I'm also heavy follower of wide cult since Hidamari Sketch so that may affected a bitfor some reason my powerdoll bootlegs never had such good tights as that one above
>>22820020It's a really good franchise, but I'd say they made plenty of it. Even then, it's not like there was a drought of good sci-fi comedies and "girls with guns" anime back in it's day>Bubblegum Crisis (+episode 2 of Crash)>Gunsmith Cats>Dirty Pair>Tenamonya Voyagers (obscenely underappreciated)>You're Under Arrest (kinda lame compared to the others, but funny enough that I don't care)>haven't seen Tylor, but seems like the kinda thing I'd enjoy (especially as a big fan of Leiji Matsumoto)That said, I'd totally be down for a Doom mod, even if all it did was to replace the status bar face with Noa or Ota.
>>22820472>back in it's dayActual new stuff would be nice, not looking back and suddenly finding "new" old stuff.
>>22820472they should've made a CLAT spinoff show in the early 00s with Clancy as the main character
>>22820505>Actual new stuff would be niceSpace Battleship Tiramisu has a protagonist who clings to his cockpit because he finds his teammates too boorish, a pretty interesting extension upon Noa's fixation around Alphonse.Bullbuster was fun when it didn't fall back on "lol bureaucracy", though I'll admit that I never watched past the 3rd episode.Same goes for Dai-Guard.
>>22820020No it really doesn't, reboots and unnecessary sequels are always trash.
>>22820020I don't think we need more Patlabor specifically but we do need more stuff like it. Just like we need more stuff like GiTS, but please stop rebooting GiTS. I just miss the relatively mundane but charming characters and a style of sci-fi made by extrapolating real world tech instead of going balls to the wall space magic.
>>22828906>please stop rebooting GiTSWhoever owns the IP knows Shirow doesn't give a shit and it's a cashcow that has yet to dry (Somehow) so I doubt that's gonna happen.
>>22820026>PatlaboringKek. It was pretty boring though
>>22828206fgsfds six fingers?
>>22834352AU where Noa is a hardcore OL and needs more fingers to type faster.
>>22834352she's actually holding a tiny baguette
>>22837423Best COMBAT woman.
>>22844883
is this a battle of the gargantuas reference? this episode already had alien baltan and an oxygen destroyer so i dont know
>>22845639damn really, it just seems like too much of a coincidence. whatever this ep was funny.
this mystery episode was funny. also the title is like ellery queen's Yの悲劇
>>22845699Whatever happened to Goto's facial hair?
>>22820472A doom patlabor mod? How’d that work or were you referring to something else?
why didn't they call her back for the second movie ?
>>22861776Because the second movie isn't a patlabor movie and has no robots in it.
>>22861850Except for the part with the robots and the title "Patlabor", of course.
>>22861850this anon is a fucking retard
>>22861776she would have soloed Tsuge in the first 5mins
>>22861776Probably wouldn't be good with the optics/politics of the situation, unlike Babel, this one was a coup. Foreign interference would highly likely make more forces join the other side's cause. That or she's busy with other stuff.
Finished the television series and halfway through new files, took my time with it too and I really have been liking this series a lot, got me a ton of laughs. Plus the announcement of EZY now being much more exciting to me than previously during my watchtrough, I can clearly see why this is a beloved franchise down there. Also >>22861942 COMBAT
>>22862917And done with new files, great series, looking forward to EZY
>>22861947Hi, I was the other stuff
>>22820026>Pat-laboringI don't get it bros
Hell yeah, time to watch Patlabor. I've been putting it off for years, the Ingram looks so cool.>OVA is a police comedy SOL with a robot as a mascot>First movie is an biblically tinged environmental conspiracy with like 15 minutes worth of robotsNot exactly what I was expecting but I can't say I walked away from it disappointed at all.
>>22877833Just skip the second movie, it's not an actual Patlabor property
>>22878976Yes it is.
>>22878976>Just skip to movie 3 and ignore the rest of the franchise Fixed.
>>22886363Skip breathing drool.
>>22886353It's Patlabor in the same way the Halloween sequels are grounded horror movies, in which they aren't.2 is a great movie but doesn't need any context from other Patlabor properties, in fact it stands on its own. It's completely different in tone and levity compared to the other installments.
>>22886391That has nothing to do with anything whatsoever.
>>22886395>no argument
>>22886397I agree,it was no argument to begin with.
>>22886391My own take would be that it’s a fantastic political thriller movie but an awful patlabor movie
>>22886949You said it succinctly. There are no comedic moments in 2 unlike the episodes and other movies.
>>22887008Patlabor isn't a comedy.
>>22887011Pedantry.
>>22887011Hey I had laughs from watching the television series and new files ova so that’s objectively wrong
>>22887047I get laughs from the pianist, that doesn't make it a comedy.

What would happen if she and Noa met?
>>22897367Sex.
>>22887047You're objectively stupid.
>>22902806You're objectively a necrobumper
>>22897367Long ago there was an old image I came across that was basically a crossover pic between multiple series, in there had Noa and Leona bickering with each other while inside Alphonse and Bonaparte
>>22902852nah you are
>>22906358>no u
>>22820020Patla(bore)
This wasn't very good to be honest. What usually happens is that the series starts off being episodic before shifting into being more plot focused in the second half, but this was episodic the whole way through. I think the only major recurring plot thread was the Griffin stuff and even that was solved a third of the way through. The characters and their dynamics were charming, but not enough to carry almost 50 episodes of it.Were they making this alongside the OVAs/movies and that's why they decided to be more episodic?
>>22820020Is Patlabor the new Zeta of /m/? I don't remember there being so much shilling previously.
>>22906731>TV episode 47>Griffin stuff solvedAre you really that retarded?
>>22906815He was filtered by Patlabor so afraid so.
>>22910690>He was filtered by PatlaborHow does that happen?
