=READ THE GUIDE=

For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there.

For the unclear, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here!
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!

And don't forget to report shitposting and spam.

>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post images whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting images.

>Why are my pictures sideways?
4chan strips EXIF data from images when they're uploaded to the site from your phone, including the orientation display tag. To fix this, save your images separately, or use an app that will rotate and save the images for you.

Build a mecha encompassing different aspects of the horror genre. Examples include
>A mecha that incorporates general horror tropes from literature, film, and anime
>A corrupted version of an existing mecha/robot through magical, biological, or alien means (ie Symbiotes, parasites, Daemonic possession)
>Organic mecha (ie Evangelions) and monsters from /m/-related media (ie: the BETA from Muv-Luv)
>A mecha that draws inspiration from various demons or monsters from different mythologies and religions.

Submit your entries to gunplaplamo@gmail.com , include at least 5 finished pics and any WIP pics you took while working on your entry, as well as a brief description of your build.

this is my first volks kit and i was aware of and prepared for most issues with them, but i wasn't expecting this amount of flash on a modern kit. i haven't seen that mentioned. it's like one of bandai's really old and worn moulds or an early 2000s wave kit in that regard. kind of annoying because flash is my most hated thing to fix...
there's surprisingly little sinkage though. i've had modern bandai kits with way worse sinkage than this (like the hg sirbine... the amount of sinkage on that kit is worse than a wave kit)

So im trying to decide on a black paint for the mazinger zero infinitism, and i haven't really been able to narrow it down too much. I'm looking for something metallic but not too shiny (like a dull metallic car paint). I use mr. color lacquers usually so i've mainly been looking at the c28 steel, c78 metallic black, mr metallic gx201 black, and the mr metallic mc214 dark iron. I checked PM paints and searched for a while but i can't really find anything that really shows the differences all too well. Would appreciate if anyone here who has used some of the paints before or has any paint suggestions.

I have it, the red "metal build" one. It's pretty good for its price and amount of accessories alone. It has some problems though, it's hard to install the mask and it breaks very easily even if you know about it. There are some parts electroplated in chrome red and, weirdly enough, chrome purple (which obviously doen't really fit the scheme) but no undergating for these parts so expect visible nubs. Do what you did to the lower legs all over. But be more subtle. Do the streaking but diffuse it more.
Semi gloss spritz coat to seal it.
Very lightly, very fucking lightly sponge on some brown/black on on some edges.
Moderate on the bottom feet edge to like one spot your choice on the head.
Not heavy to light, moderate to light if not nothing but a wash and some toothpick chipping on the shoulders up.
Pick some specific blots in your sponge work that landed on high wear edges and put a smaller dot in the center of them to simulate deep gouges but edges only!
Topcoat with something mat.

>>
>>22895087
I was trying to keep the streaking subtle but the washes literally just wouldn't cooperate. It was that weird mix of some of it just not wanting to stick to the top coat, some of it just not wiping up at all. I'm absolutely keeping that part about adding smaller dots to blots in mind tho!

I've only built the weapon set so the only experience is from the bazooka. From what I've heard from others and my experience in the bazooka, it has a unique approach where it has joints similar to c-clip but instead of clipping, they're secured by sandwiching them between a part.

A flaw in the design however is with the head vulcans where it's a bit short to peak out the holes. You could either cut it off to extend it or file down the holes where the later takes more skill and probably needs a small fine round file to pull it off.

The flaps on the shoulders might be too loose for one's liking.

No clear eye-part but there's a unique detailed foil sticker included.

You can't display the core fighter separately, you'll need a third party part for the torso. From what I've seen though, it's just one piece so you're losing some waist articulation which is ironic.

>imo the original rg was a bit more interesting to put together.
Personally, I think the original rg, which is based on a statue, has a better design. You're probably better off with the MG 3.0 which is the same design.
>>
>>22895119
Haven't built it, but I gotta say, I don't like the design at all. I don't understand why it has so many holes, and the head looks weird, I prefer the original, even if the articulation is worse. The fact that it doesn't include a core block and you gotta use the core fighter is also ridiculous
>>
>>22894915
you might still be able to use it in some kind of diorama. definitely went overboard, but it could still look neat half buried in sand/dirt

i'm not entirely sure what ethyl acetate does because from what i can see it doesn't interact with the plastic. maybe it retards evaporation? or it could just be a dilutant so the companies can sell you less active ingredient for your dollar.
i don't have the msds sheets handy but i've looked it up in the past and i believe tamiya is 50% acetone and 50% ethyl acetate, mr cement s is 50% ethyl acetate 25% acetone 25% butanone, mr cement sp is 50% ethyl acetate 50% butanone. could be a bit off since that's from memory. just buying a big tin of butanone instead of using marked up hobby cements is an age old modellers tip.
as for lacquer thinner, hardware store shit is hotter than hobby grade stuff so it can damage abs easier and it evaporates quicker so it's harder to work with (especially when trying to get a gloss finish) but it's fine. i cut my mr levelling thinner with it in winter or when its humid (because paint dries slower in those conditions and too much retarder can be detrimental) and i thin my metallics and primers with it
>>
>>22896188
Yeah I meant to pick up the lacquer thinner for welding plastic, not actually thinning paints. Mr. Hobby thinners have been working well for me and I don't really feel like experimenting with a new thinner just yet.

Good shit though, I'll definitely give the MEK a try once my Tamiya stuff runs out.
>>
>>22896192
>lacquer thinner for welding plastic
in my experience this doesn't work very well. i tried it myself because it DOES have butanone and shit in it, but it's really ineffective
>>
>>22896194
Oh that's good to know. I'll stay away then.
>>
>>22896196
it's good to have around anyway, i use it for cleaning my airbrush out instead of something like tamiya tool cleaner because it's way cheaper and just deletes paint

Nice. What gold is that on the vfin?
>>
>>22896220
Gold is Gundam Marker EX Yellow Gold. Green is Vallejo Game Color Fluorescent Green, applied as a wash/glaze over white depending on the place.
>>
>>22896220
>>22896221
Forgot to mention the gold also has a bit of Real Touch Marker Brown applied to it and blurred.
>>
Finished the RE/100 Gerbera, honestly great build and looks pretty good. Since it's basically a big high grade though it kind of looks like complete shit so now to wait for my water slides to come in and start panel lining.
>>
>>22896228
I've been thinking about picking it up a few times but that line of RE100s that it's from has some horrible kits and was worried it was going to need a lot of extra work to get looking decent which I just don't have the time for now outside of doing some basic things. Might still get it since who knows when it'll get a reprint again after this batch.
>>
>>22896231
I mean you can definitely just look up pictures of it with bare plastic and foil stickers (which is how I have it now except for the stickers on the thrusters cause they look like total shit and I'll just marker them) and judge for yourself.
I'm a paintlet so that won't be happening, BUT I think with just water slides and top coat it'll help a ton with making not just look like a huge high grade.
>>
>>22896239
Actually I will add it definitely does have some pretty big seam lines on certain parts, maybe I'm just a shitty builder and fucked up but I'll throw it out there. I'm definitely too fucking lazy to clean up those though.
>>
>>22896239
I've looked it up but sometimes it's hard to judge because people take photos with bad lighting or their phone has auto color balance which makes the kit look different. I had this issue with the PG strike rouge where one person's photo made the main body look white and the next person's photo made it look very pink when in reality, the pink is very subtle.
>>
Finally finished my Chibi sd Unicorn~ It's really cute but I fucking hated panel lining it. I sorta gave up and just accepted "oh, it's got a Wartorn look." It's the first gunpla I've finished in a while. I want to topcoat it but I melted my last gunpla trying that so I might just scrub it down and layer with vaseline or something. Next project is a little entry grade rx-72. Got the arms and body sorted but I want to use this as a test kit
>>

Battle between grunts. Honestly depends on the humans and vehicles I have access to. Ideally I'd like something in not-new york with amphibious zeeks fighting GMs. I'd also be down with slippers and tank tops, maybe some zakus fighting GMs in not-brazil.
>>
>>22896269
What the fuck am I reading? Vaseline???
>>
>>22895579
I need to do more RGs. They look so cool given the amount of detail being comparable to or more than the MG. I just need to greeble up my nightingale so it fits in with them. My only worry is some like the Zeta Gundam supposedly being very rickety.
>>
>>22896280
RGs are great and usually have a lot more detail than the average MG. The zeta ver.ka is completely solid, it's the older MGs that start to have issues but even the MG 2.0 is fine.
>>
>>22896269
What are you using for panel lining and top coat? There's something really wrong here
>>
>>22896142
I have zero idea who these two even are. And gunpla in Poland is pretty much very hard to find at local modeling events. At the last one, my and one more persons shown kits were gunpla. Everything else was pretty much tanks, ships, airplanes, etc.

I pipet it from the jar
My trick is:
>use pipet to draw thinner
>use same pipet to draw primer
>flush/mix this pipet with the contents in airbrush cup
>because its thinned it wont stick as much
>on cup refill use a new pipet for thinner only
>flush old pipet with thinner inside the airbrush cup

>repeat for as many times as needed

Not if they're made out of HDPE, but you can probably get away with LDPE or just use PET. HDPE is the best but PET is probably the cheapest option but I hate it because it feels cheap as fuck.

they're more or less just the Gouf Custom but with slightly different proportions. also arguably the biggest jobber suit in the series because the Gundam effortlessly mows down 4 of them in the second episode damn near effortlessly, then two of them can't even take out a single fucking convoy truck, and then there's like four more in the final episode one of which ends up killing the gundam pilot with a sneak attack from behind as he's talking to the MC over an open comms channel and about to let them all leave because power of friendship or something

Just a Gundam marker for panel lines. It's my first time doing it. As for topcoating... I think I got one from the artshop but it was too concentrated and literally melted my first gunpla. I stuck them on pegs, gave them a spray, and walked away for five minutes to come back to the plastic dripping. Traumatised me off building for a good while. I haven't applied a topcoat to these ones yet, I'm still a bit nervous about murdering them after putting so much time into sanding and making them look pretty

Use the cheap PN one on first far-away cut then the expensive one close up or flush with plastic. The SPN single-bladed nippers have thin blades and can break if the runner’s too thick. Careful using SPN on clear runners because runner material is tougher and more brittle.
Alternatively, just use SPN 1-2mm away, staying on the thin bit of gate, from the part as first cut (not clear runner) and do 2nd flush cut

which one do you recommend? I'm using tamiya acrylic thinner with tamiya paint at a 1:1 ratio with PSI 30
>>
>>22896582
30 psi is too high and it's contributing to the orange peel (paint is drying too fast because of your paint:air mixture) also tamiya acrylics aren't like a water based paint their branded thinner is basically alcohol but they work beautifully with mr color leveling thinner.
>>
>>22896582
I've never tried anything other than mr hobby leveling and it's generally considered the best from what I'm aware. If you google it, you'll find people talking about mixing the two. One thing to note is that it's pretty strong so make sure you've got proper ventilation at a minimum & ideally a respirator.

The fight between the EX and the goufs was a highlight for me.

>>
>>22896661
The problem with CGI is it can look great, because 3d models can fit mechs really well when proper effort is put into it. The problem is most studios use CGI to cheap out and half ass their work effort, as opposed to using it to further advance a visual medium. Which has given it an understandably harsh negative stigma.
Regarding the EX though, I am curious to see how people modify or paint it. Even if it's as simple as sanding down some of the detail and/or slapping something like the Ez8 head onto it.
>>
>>22896680
Nobody asked but I think the EX would look fine with a couple washes and maybe a thin coat of red ink because it definitely looks a lot better surrounded by explosions. I'm also tempted to paint the inside details like flesh and organs.

finally, after 2 months of moving and other problems(such as the lotion coated tissue disaster), I got around to painting the colored parts for my MG Buster Gundam. very happy with how they turned out. going for an anodized look. rn the only topcoated part is the green back piece on the bottom, with a flat coat. not sure I like it much, it doesn't retain as much of the shine as I would like for the anodized look. think I will attempt using semigloss on a different piece unless someone here has a suggestion. thanks for reading me blog.

What's the minimum required setup to get into painting? I'm thinking things like those handheld chinese airbrushes and a cardboard box in a corner, how much of a budget do I need to consider to ascend SnapGodhood?
I'm also in a tiny apartment with no balcony so I really don't know what to look out for.
>>
>>22897561
>What's the minimum required setup to get into painting?
a craft store paintbrush and some $3 acrylic paints from your local hobby store. airbrushing isn't mandatory

>no balcony
for airbrushan' you can get spraybooths with an exhaust hose as long as you have a window
>>
>>22897571
Not sure why my brain didn't even consider using paintbrushes, that might be more up my alley.
Is there primer you can brush on or do I need to use a rattlecan? Or just sand the piece really well?
>>
>>22897575
Rattlecan ptimers are better than any brushed on one. Also you can just run an extension cord outside and set up a little painting booth outside with a cardboard box and a little folding table.

>>
>>22897604
Don't do it in the bathroom. The fumes will linger for a really long time, even if you leave the windows open with a fan running. You really should do it outside. If you're scared of dust and particles just cut a giant cardboard box open and use it as a booth.

You could try to get into acrylic airbrushing, that doesn't generate fumes that you need to worry about (though you should still wear a proper mask to not inhale the particulates). Handpainting is very basic and doable, but it's hard to get nice even coats, which are ultimately necessary for Gunpla given all the wide flat surfaces that you'll be painting, even small imperfections would be very easy to spot.

MDF was ~$7 for a 18mmx4x4' sheet. The whole thing fits on a single sheet
Silicone + gun was like $5

>>
>>22898182
Depends on the paint and the chems you're using but "being removable" is a bug rather than a feature for most paints so patience is necessary.
>>
>>22898184
Well I was under the impression what given the right solvent or cleaner, it would just react with the paint and dissolve away. I guess that's fine though, it's not like I'm in any hurry.
>>
>>22898187
Think about it this way: salt is water soluble, but if you fill a jar with salt and water it won't just naturally mix. You need to mix it. That's the friction you apply. The more paint is removed, the easier it is for the degreaser to get underneath the remaining paint.

Stop falling for this meme. If you want to strip paint off quickly and safely in a matter of minutes or less, all you need is Isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. That's what I use to strip Mr Color/Gaianotes paints and I've even left a part submerged in it for over 30 mins because I forgot and it was still 100% fine. % doesn't matter for the alcohol.

>>22897561
>handheld chinese airbrushes and a cardboard box
i literally did this for a while. the chinky airbrush disintegrated in under a week, i outgrew the chinky battery powered compressor really quick because they only do 1 pressure setting and couldn't keep a consistent airflow for shading if i turned the mac valve on my airbrush down, the battery in it didnt last long enough for long sessions anyway and it overheated constantly, and because the cardboard box didn't have an extractor fan in it my room got covered in a thin layer of paint that i thought was dust until i went to do the yearly dust and it didn't come off easily, plus i could only use water based paint for the same reason.
all in all i don't recommend it. the minimum setup i'd recommend (chinky amazon booth, entry level brush from a respected brand, chinky compressor with a tank) will set you back about 250 bux or more. $70-90 compressor $100ish airbrush $70-100 booth

abs can deform when soaked in ipa for a long time but ps and other plastics don't react with it.
for me its biostrip20, but it's a uk company and i'm not sure if they have a us distributor yet. i know they were looking for one.
>>22898284
those spray cans are very hot. i had some zero paints primer at one point (basically just rebottled automotive shit) and it was so hot that it keyed into the plastic so hard that it just wouldn't strip fully even after soaking for a WEEK in 99% ipa.
try wetting a qtip or a paper towel with lacquer thinner and wipe it with that, that should get it. do NOT soak the part in a cup of lacquer thinner though, it'll melt and/or crack. just wipe it.
if that still doesn't get it, just prime over it and sand down any uneven areas
>>
>>22898312
And don't give it a "shower" of lacquer thinner using an airbrush either, that'll melt it.

>>
Say... I just saw somewhere that you're not supposed to panel line bare plastic but I wanted a bit more panel lining clarification in general. I'm trying it with a little sd kit and just running the marker into any corner or edge and trying to mop up extra ink after the fact but that technique is really messy. Where specifically are you meant to be inking cause sometimes I notice that the ink runs down a section naturally and it looks wonderful but other times I need to manually draw along the line and wipe the top.
And about inking plastic. What exactly should the steps be for panel lining, painting and top coating? I've tried top coating before by putting the pieces in a soapy bath to remove the plastic layer gunk and then spraying directly on the kit and whilst that failed is it the right idea? Like you build your kit, take it apart the best you can, remove any noticeable nub marks and bad panel lines, wash in soapy bath, paint/topcoat, panel line, display/hotglue, results.
How accurate would you say this is? And is it possible to paint on stuff by hand or should I invest in paint guns and rely on that way?
>>
>>22897732
i kind of want this since it's a neat body but the situation with getting extra 30MS heads is kinda retarded and overcomplicated
>>
>>22898390
Topcoat should always be the last step. If you're painting the kit, you should seal your paint with a gloss coat before panel lining/decaling, then topcoat again after you're done.

Using a pen will always be messy, especially with an unsteady hand. You can make a wash with some paint and thinner and use that instead. Your lines will be cleaner since they'll be drawn via capillary action. Corner parts tend to be messy regardless because your cleanup will often remove part of the line. If you want really clean panel lines on those bits, you can scribe them to create a proper channel.
>>
>>22898390
Panel lining is subjective, you're not "meant" to do it on specific locations. For shallow surface detail, you can just use a ruler to make a clean line if you want.
Panel lining with a marker on bare plastic is more prone to beading ie it doesn't stick very well and you'll have to do several passages sometimes. You generally do it on a gloss coat anyways because 1. you need to panel line over the paint 2. it will protect the paint from your pen's tip 3. the gloss coat makes the pen ink stick better
However it will still be messy and you will have smudges you'll have to mop. Try to mop towards the lines so that the smudges get pushed to it and fade quicker. Letting it dry around 10 minutes before cleaning with a bit of alcohol helps to not make more mess sometimes.
You should definitely topcoat the panel lines, if you leave them exposed you're gonna smudge it every time you touch the model
And yes you can paint by hand, it'll always be less clean than an airbrush but it's largely doable (and fun). Just wet your paints enough to not make big streaks and use vallejo or similar products that minimize them. It'll still never be as smooth as a airbrush from up close
>>
>>22898390
9 times out of 10 when someone says don't panel line bare plastic they specifically mean don't use Tamiya Panel Line Accent on bare plastic. But yeah top coating in general will make the surface smoother and allow for the panel ink to run down the crevices easier.
>>
>>22898464
You can use Tamiya Accent on bare plastic as long as you don't let it stay on so long that the solvent has time to destroy the plastic. It's more dangerous if it's allowed to pool or seep into crevasses where it's hard to remove.
>>
>>22898477
Yeah but retards will fuck it up then complain so telling people to topcoat first is retard proof

I'm hearing some conflicting information everywhere so I'd appreciate if someone could help clarify. I'm confused about what paint types and thinners can be used on top of what.

I basically have three paints on hand: Mr. Color lacquers (plus Mr. Surfacer), Tamiya enamels, and some acrylic Vallejo varnishes (like picrel).

Would a process like Mr. Color --> Vallejo gloss --> Tamiya enamel for panel lining and detail painting --> Vallejo gloss work well?
>>
>>22898312
bio stripper does the same shit to ABS but alot faster
>>
>>22898516
Lacquers and solvent based acrylics are naturally more resiliant to enamel thinners. Vallejo gloss will still do the job of turning flat finishes into something glossy enough for decals or enabling easier capilary action when doing panel washes.
But honestly, if you're spraying lacquers i don't see any reason why you'd be spraying waterbased acrylics beyond protecting metallic sheens or doing reverse washes.

>>
>>22898516
>>22898530
Waterbased acrylics (like vallejo or ak, and not the hybrid shit like ATOM or aqeuous) if they're not protected via a varnish will get eaten by enamel thinner.
Lacquers can go ontop of acrylics provided you're careful during the spraying process (don't flood the piece like a dumb monkey).
>>
>>22898532
Buy a glass file (gunprimer raser or "nano" glass file)
>>
>>22898516
You don't really need to spray a gloss coat on top of a lacquer layer if that layer is already a gloss paint, even semi gloss
>>
>>22898530
That's reassuring.

As for the acrylic varnishes, I'm using acrylics specifically because that's what's available to me. Plus, I much prefer being able to control the finish of my kit. I didn't mention, but I have vallejo mecha matte varnish too, and I much prefer the look of a matte finish.

>>22898534
What if the varnish itself is acrylic like the vallejo ones? Would an enamel thinner eat that too?

>>22898536
Unfortunately a good chunk of my lacquers are flat.
>>
>>22898540
Do a test on a leftover part. AK has some acrylic panel liners, packaged the same as tamiya ones, try them out if the test is a failure
>>
>>22898553
Yeah I was planning on doing that, but I wanted to ask around to minimize failures and paint wastage (because I'm kinda poor...)
>>
>>22898540
>What if the varnish itself is acrylic like the vallejo ones? Would an enamel thinner eat that too?
nope, waterbased varnishes are usually resilliant to enamel thinners after a day or two.
>>
>>22898556
If you let the vallejo gloss cure fully and are careful about applying tamiya panel liner I think it could work without disaster. For extra safety you can wipe it off with zippo fluid if you can get your hands on some.
>>
>>22898566
>>22898567

Like most said I panel line on a fully built part so it probably seep to the inside and I reapply too often because I thin them too much so the colour aren't as vibrant. Now I apply panel line on individual mold.

You didn't get taken for anything. It's an option a lot of Chinese kits do for some reason (probably just to make it slightly cheaper). The retail box is literally just a nicer box, similar to what you would get with a bandai kit. The no box option means they're going to throw the runners into a random shipping box and that's how you'll get it.

you have a safety factor of 0 though, it is 100% leeching inside and damaging the plastic either way the question is just whether it damages it TOO MUCH to cause the parts to fracture/disintegrate

It's a shame I don't like the overall design of the EX. There's RG levels of part separation and detail at times. Makes some of the upcoming HGs look outdated before they're even out.

PG geese isn't a bootleg, it's an original kit made by a chinese company.
burger stores like USAGS massively overcharge for chinese shit, it's always cheapter to buy from chinese stores even with cross-ocean shipping.
the original retail price in china is ¥385 (approx 54USD). foreigners usually pay 2-3x as much for these including shipping etc.

The retail box is not adding 40 fucking dollars to the shipping price though. Anon paid over $170 to buy from USAGS. So yes he did get taken for a ride.

>isn't a bootleg, it's an original kit made by a chinese company
What would we even describe this thing as? Everyone know it's a Tallgeese but you can't say it's a bootleg because there is no existing kit for them to have cloned. Can you call it a ripoff? It doesn't look like a low quality attempt at copying the MG/RG.
>>
>>22898477
Yeah, it's pretty safe if you take the basic don't let it pool and don't let it get into places where you dont want it to. It will crack the plastic.

For CN kits I generally look between gundamit, gundamcentralshop and mofiho to see who's cheapest (including shipping, the first two have higher prices but free shipping while mofiho charges shipping separately). Occasionally Aliexpress actually has a kit cheaper than those three but it can kinda be a shitshow.

If you have advanced autism you can buy directly from Taobao at the lower yuan prices but you need to navigate a website in all Chinese and probably use a Taobao agent for shipping. Never tried that myself.

They’re not in stock much anymore. Haven’t seen a retail price GTO Zaku Half Cannon, Dom or Gouf in a while, let alone the other weird kits from the line. In the US it’s pretty easy to find them on AliExpress for $10 with free shipping too. Just wish they did the Zaku 1s too though.

Hi /gpg/ been a little since I posted. I’m starting a new model painting project on an HG Ball for an easy test and using some new paints, can I get some help? It’ll be my first time shading.

Primer: Badger Stynylrez grey (already on the model and test spoons)

Preshading: Tamiya acrylic XF flat black that will be thinned with Mr Color leveling thinner. First time pre-shading, how much PSI do I want for a .3mm needle? And how thin do I make the paint?

Base coat on top: Mr. Color lacquer, light gull grey specifically, again thinned with leveling thinner. What would the thinning ratio be and what PSI should I spray/how many layers? I tried 1:2 paint to thinner (read online) and idk if that was too thin, but it didn’t go on well at 15 psi on the spoons with a first layer and I’m hesitant to waste it before my new bottles come in. May have been too thin and not hit the surface right.

Flat coat: Tamiya Flat Clear if that works over Mr color lacquers, already had some bottles sitting around.

How does Bandai keep on fumbling around with Gundam? Like how?

>>22899697
Because they are relatively cheap as a line. Bandai makes around 2 to 3 RGs a year, the cost to develop and print them is literally pocket change, unlike the older era of MG where Bandai actually mass produced them with so many unique molds.
