That better be a girl.
>A man has a horrible life due to his righteous and kind nature. He is also unfairly fired and blamed for things he did not do. A being known as the Guide offers to reincarnate him in a new worlNope.
>>22898551He looks like Lelouch Junior.I wonder how a modern Isekai structure will work with mechas
The studio making it is very young and has never done mecha before.
>>22898577So?
>The protagonist of this work. The young head of the Banfield family, who governs a remote planet. In his previous life, he lived a good life, but met an unjust end. Reflecting on his past life, he aims to become an "evil lord," but...?
>An AI maid robot that serves Liam. Although AI is considered "abominable" in the Empire, Liam has great trust in her. With extremely high specs, she is capable of everything from governing the territory to directing battles.>>22898581Just thought it was interesting
> The mysterious being who reincarnated Liam. He feeds on negative emotions such as anger, hatred, and sadness, and operates in the shadows in search of even greater negative emotions.
What happened to Otome Mob S2?
BFC-X001LSAvid> A large mobile knight manufactured by the Seventh Weapons Factory, modified with the latest technology from an old model once used by Liam's great-grandfather Alistair, for Liam to pilot. It uses space magic to store many weapons, including heavy weapons, in a different dimension, and can be taken out according to the battle situation, giving it a high fighting ability. The assist function has been removed, so high skill is required to pilot it.
>>22898600I'm so grateful!
AGS007-BB120Ash Viper> A state-of-the-art battleship manufactured by the Seventh Weapons Factory and introduced as the flagship of the Banfield Army.
AGS007-BB117Spartoi class> A high-performance battleship manufactured by the Seventh Weapons Factory that would become the core of the Banfield military.
>>22898577They're an AIC splinter, so it's in good hands. Also, Miss Kuroitsu is toku-based, even including cameos from various local heroes. >>22898605This better lead up to Elder God Demonbane levels of powerful if they're playing with other dimensions.
>>22898616>This better lead up to Elder God Demonbane levels of powerful if they're playing with other dimensions. It does not, it's just for weapon storage. This is a somewhat typical isekai plot, not a power-level wankering scalation, in fact, most of the victories of the MC come from the dumbassery of his opponents instead of the usual isekai MC broken power, which here is... a device that turns trash into rare metals.
>>22898573I remember there was that one with awful animation and the cool mecha using a fucking shovel as a weapon, but the fact I don't even remember the series' name shows how unremarkable it was.
>>22898573Knights and Magic was pretty good.
>>22898705Nah it was trash drool.
I heard about this light novel a while ago, it sounds really fucking stupid but I don't know if it's entertaining stupid or boring stupid.
>>22898649>using a fucking shovel as a weapon
>>22898649Mobuseka, based on a LN with same author as this.>>22898573There's a growing number of Naruto Isekai series this, mobuseka, knights & magic, assault colossus, saikyou kishi, the one about a dude that got sold as a slave for having low ratings then got a op mech or something and the one about a middle aged man that became a pilot for his daughter or something.
>>22898850>same author as this.Oh color me interested thenI mean it wasn't great or anything but the mecha stuff was fun
>>22898867The man clearly likes his chunky boys, his new LN (fairy bullet) has a another chunky mech but more armored corelike.
Great. More from the author of JAPENIS Mob
>>22898643Most Brave shows have weapons and auxilary vehicles stored in another dimension, but this isn't a show where the robots are supposed to be super magical alien tech we barely understand, so it's unacceptable if they're not doing anything with this alternate dimension. It's a shame it's a typical isekai because the premise screams Demonbane. The reincarnator guy is like Nyarlathotep, and the AI maid is like Al-Azif. If I were director of this anime, I'd completely scrap the original LN plot and have it so that not-Lelouch was called into another dimension by the reincarnator guy to help unleash chaos and ruin across all dimensions (which is why the ultimate cross-dimensional form of the robot was created), but not-Lelouch ends up defying his will and defeating the reincarnator guy across all dimensions instead. We really need an anime like that nowadays; it feels like we didn't get one since Dancouga Nova (Bravern came close, but it barely explained anything).
>>22898749The man almost had a rebellion on his hands for refusing to fuck and impregnate his concubine.
>>22901199It's nothing like Demonbane, it's the story of a dude who's trying to LARP as a evil overlord but he's only a evil overlord in his head, to everyone else he's a weird, unreasonable benevolent ruler who can cut everything with a katana on foot due to sheer autism.
>>22901199>If I were director of this anime, I'd completely scrap the original LN plot and have it so...Then what's the point of adapting something!? If you are going to distort the source material so much, might as well do it as it own thing. You literally did in your head the same thing as those Tristar fucks did with Godzilla.
Is this another harem?
>>22898600isn't this nigga from another anime?
I genuinely don't understand the extra step tacked in to the introduction of Isekai just to qualify them for a subgenre with little connecting fiber in many cases.Like I was watching Reincarnated as a Slime and I couldn't help feel like it would get way cooler if it was just about a self aware slime that began to understand the rules of the JRPG inspired world it lived in ahe began climbing the ranks as a result. Why does he need to be reincarnated from a 40 year old virgin who randomly got stabbed? This show too. Why can't it just be about some intergalactic overlord climbing to the top? Why the extra step?
>>22903695Like 80% of Isekai he's probably going to have girls (and guys) all over him but will express no sexual inclinations so the audience can project as to who he's actually interested in.
>>22907013Liam fucks his robo maid later in the story from what I've heard>>22907004Naruo has a certain audience obsessed with self insertion.
>>22907028Why can't they just self insert using a character who's a natural resident of their setting though? Why do they need the detail that this beautiful young savant who's changing the world to their whim actually used to be a disgruntled salary man?
>>22907004It can be summed up as>Japanese right now are REALLY depressed and just want to escape it allBeing reincarnated in another world where you get the chance to restart your life anew and better is a too much of enticing hook for the average JP salaryman being literally worked to death.I would say this is not exclusive to the japanese, people tend to want to 'go back' to a past place/time when they feel like shit, and look forward to the future when they feel great/hopeful. Kinda telling that giant robot anime is usually futuristic and hopeful when the number of isekai giant robots works is tiny compared to other 'variations'
>>22907032There are some series where the protagonist is a native to the world like Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Goblin Slayer, and Berserk of Gluttony.
>>22907076I had no idea Goblin Slayer was an Isekai.
>fun series having fun with a dumb concept>americans: OMG WHY ARE THE JAPANESE LIKE THIS?!?!? WE NEED TO PSYCHOANALYZE THEM
>>22907081The only thing Goblin slayer shares with naruo is being based of a novel but that's it.>>22907060Tensei Isekai is already mainstream in china and Korea too, a Korean is even written a novel of a guy reincarnated as the emperor of mexico.
>>22898581>So?You really need to ask? Are you that out of touch?
>>22898551A mix of "isekai" and technomagic with "field of misunderstanding" and mecha + space opera? I hope that this anime will be a very successful project and open its own direction in mecha animation...
This looks really retarded especially because it has women in it.
>>22907076>>22907081>>22907103>native isekaiPlease stop using this term or kill yourself, drool. It's just called Fantasy, you fucking retard, there was no Tensei or Truck-kun involved.
>>22898809We should really get more civilian-issue Mobile Suits.
>>22908505I never said they were "native isekai". I was just pointing out they were fantasy series where the MC is a native to the world. I never said they were isekai. Also, do you think everyone on this site except you is Duel?
>>22908739Honestly I wouldn't be surprised half the schizos I talk to on this board are secretly Drool alts.
>>22907004you'll understand when you're old and hopeless
>>22898610is that the fortress class or one of the earlier flagships while they were overhauling the navy?
>>22898616Not Demonbane levels but IIRC in the web novels he did stuff like strike down an orbital fleet from the surface with his sword (and I don't mean the mech one).
>>22907004>>22907060There's a bit of subversion in this one.His daughter from his former life gets summoned as a hero and after solving her problems and working through her family angst (though they're unaware of who the other really is), he opts to give her a bunch of gold and send her back to Japan, telling her that this world is a shithole and she's too Japanese to survive, so she's better off using that money to escape her mom and make a life for herself back home.
I really wish this author's series got picked up by a studio that genuinely likes mechs, Otome Mob's anime was really low budget and I don't have any faith that season 2 will capture any of the mech action well. This one also has a lot of mech action in the novels but I don't think it's something they'll want to focus on outside this trailer based on the track record we've seen so far of adaptations, but at least the trailer looks marginally better than anything out of Otome Mob. The trailer's also extremely misleading in terms of what the story actually is, so there's that.
>>22914430>The trailer's also extremely misleading in terms of what the story actually iswell, not if you ask liam
>budget shota lelouche
>>22914430There's just not enough overlap between mecha fans and modern Isekai fans.
>>22915956Surely it has to exist. A surprising amount of modern isekai absolutely will shove in /m/ elements whenever possible. It's hot garbage, but In Another World With A Smartphone features mechs regularly in its plots, for example. The Otome Mob guy absolutely loves his fatass chunky boy mechs, we all know K&M. The content is there if you're just willing to tolerate wading through the sea of bad narou novels.
>>22907004There's one series where a guy gets isekai'd into the world of an MMO as his evil overlord character, but but it's later revealed that He was always the evil overlord, and Earth isn't even a real place but an illusory prison which the gods trapped him in to teach him humility.
>>22916678is it the A Wild Boss Appeared!"
>>22914430I have heard of people not liking the anime's artstyle. I didn't think it was bad, though that might just be because I saw the anime before reading the manga.
>>22898551So are they adapting the first 4 novels? Doesn't make sense to leave the Berkeley's arc unfinished right?
>>22916763I could tolerate the art style because I started with the LN and the author's novels (this, Seventh, etc.) tend to be pretty good as far as light novels go.The real issue is the animation is janky for all the /m/ stuff. I get it, most of the early mecha stuff is just the Arroganz steamrolling shit, but it's gonna suck if we get the same level of quality once season 2 rolls around and we get to the Principality arc
>>22898559It's basically some demon manipulating a good boy's life to get him cucked so he turns evil but because he's a retard even when he reincarnates to being some minor space noble who wants to be evil but is too much of a retard to actually be evil and just stumbles into being a good boy again while getting all sorts of good shit out of it.
>>22898551The only reason I might be interested in this is because of Koyasu, the man's voice is fucking magic but that doesn't automatically mean the show will be good (he's been in probably almost every single anime made ever since he became a VA). So I'll probably give it the three episode rule.
>>22919074You kind of have to get into a similar mindset with other "misunderstanding"-based anime, think Eminence in Shadow. That got a generally decent reception, but people who didn't like it really didn't like it because the core concept is inherently divisive.Do you want an MC who thinks he's Lelouch but is actuallt Suzaku? Or for the people addicted to decade old memes, do you like watching Code MENT Lelouch bumble his way through insane wins through a mixture of luck, skill, and divine intervention? If you can't tolerare that core premise then this will probably suck for you.
>>22898867I read that manga, for a trashy isekai it was well done trash.
>>22898551Forgot the manga existed, almost thought they directly adapted it from the light novel into an anime.I remember reading the light novel (up until the latest translation, or up to the end, I forget which) and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The mecha design is almost tolerable, so pretty average in the grand scheme of things.IIRC, story seemed a bit wishy washy, as in nothing seemed to hold a incredibly serious amount of weight.>>22898577Well we all gotta start somewhere.>>22919199>think Eminence in Shadow. Not the anon but I prefer this isekai over eminence in shadow.>>22916131>K&MNot the anon but I did not like K&M. Did a lot of people like it? With "magic" and "it's just like coding" it all seemed inconsequentially making up bullshit on the fly.>>22907004Self-insertion. More relatable. I personally would absolutely love to see a self-aware slime, or a goblin actually just developing into a good character, but alas we have the slime turning into a fucking minor and the goblin summoning a fucking centipede bus like a fucking nickelodeon show.>>22907032So the reader can feel like they are actually super cool on the inside.
>>22918855they can fit four in one season if they skip all the BL fantasies that one random chick has
>>22898551Ah, a mix of 3D and 2D mecha art in there.
>>22919252Knights and magic has some fans in the mecha community but most people outside it remenber that show for the MC being a shota femboylike.
>>22898551what fleet is liam fighting in the trailer? doesn't look like it has any pirate ships in it
>>22925737Maybe it's the combined Berkeley's fleet.
Are we not gonna talk about how this guy got cucked hard and not once did he kill the bull with his mech when he returned to Earth?
>>22928155wait, he goes back to earth? how far into the story is it? i've only read most of the webnovel and he's already lived longer post reincarnation than in his previous life.
>>22928155He pretty much does not give a fuck and doesn't even think of going back, as per usual on modern isekai protagonists. Also when his daughter gets non-lethally isekai'd, it's revealed that the lover dude dumped the wife immediately after the MC died. The wife is pretty much a irredeemable CUNT even after all that has passed. So much so that whenever the MC meets any woman that has her same habits, such as heavy makeup and luxurious clothes, he is instantly repulsed.
>>22919252>K&MIt did nothing special and its fast pacing was to its detriment, but at the same time it never really dwelled on anything long enough to overstay its welcome. I liked the mech designs and gave it around a 7/10 at the end, which is probably a bit too generous but it held my attention enough to get me through it in a single sitting. So its biggest weakness was that it didn't really anything to set it apart or establish a real identity. Just more isekai slop to use for background noise that ranges from mid to decent scenes.
Mecha space opera? About fucking time, don't care how good/bad it is
Read a bit of the manga, it's okay and I was gonna get back to it but my backlog of manga, anime and LN's is getting rather big. Rather pic related get an anime since I listened to not-Elite Dangerous on audiobook on a whim one day and was pleasantly surprised.
>>22919252>K&MMost who bothered to read the novel loved it, but those who only watched the anime got a lukewarm response to it.The issue is that the anime rushed what should have been a 24 episode run at least into 12-13 episodes. It basically dropped all the good side moments that fleshed out the cast more in favor of trying to get to some action, then rushing said action too.
>>22898551Oh cool I downloaded the LN the other day.
>>22933076I thought it getting one? If not, I bet it will. Everything noticeable getting anime adaptation today. It's okay manga. Too heavy on harem but I guess it's run of the course.Definitely better than OP stuff and has better suit designs
>>22898573He's nothing like Lulu, mostly because Lulu couldn't katana everything to death via sheer autism. Lulu also didn't have to deal with a whole planet rebelling because he refused to impregnate his fleshwife.
>>22898616Avid is alive for what's it worth.
>>22901199Thank fuck you aren't in charge of anything.
>>22898551This is probably going to be another 6/10 at best like K&M and Buddy Complex, but I'm looking forward to it. As long as it can do something fun with the mecha action it'll be passable.
>>22936366Why? Wouldn't it be cool for this guy to be reincarnated, fight a bunch of villains-of-the-week, and realize in the end that it was all a test to make him strong enough to unleash chaos across all dimensions? Obviously that last part should be fleshed out with cool details that tie into real-life physics concepts, sort of like the Shining Trapezohedrons. The weapon storage system could be a way to gather all the parts of a dangerous artifact that was broken up by god-like aliens (or straight-up gods). How could you turn down something fun and cool for stereotypical autofellatio isekai nonsense? Also I'd do what shows like Dunbine did and make it a desperate quest to get home and save our universe rather than a leisurely stroll through a sci-fi RPG universe with romcom shenanigans; any good mecha protagonist is someone who will go to hell and back to save his family and friends and homeland rather than someone who wants to escape from all that -- and because of that, I also think the MC should job a lot and face some real tragedies just so it's not too self-inserty, yet at the same time, also be committed to fighting so he can get back home and save all universes and dimensions. Why can't we have GGG levels of awesomeness and good characters?
>>22937135Meds.
>>22898551i know i shouldn't expect much from isekai slop but i still hope it's good
>>22898551>isekaiHell n->mechaI will now eat your slop.
>>22907086>stop. having. fun.
>>22898551The MC is a faggot and should have had the drills girl as his wife. If you love drills like myself you will hate this story as well.
>>22937081>>22939785>>22939791Considering the author's other mecha isekai series I wouldn't hope for much.
>>22940045but he does marry drills and even breeds her iirc? or did that change in the LN?he just strongly prefers his mommy sexbot maid-waifu instead (can you really blame him, especially on /m/?)
>>22929876>It's okay that cuckoldry is a key part of this character's backstory because it irreversibly emotionally damaged him. That's just sad and depressing.
>>22941418It resulted in him getting the best possible ending. He courted a woman he thought was a haughty and prideful future duchess, and she openly expressed disdain for him which only turned him on more. He wanted to break her but didn't realize she was already broken due to an entire secret organization keeping her family destitute and isolated on the orders of the emperor from 2k years ago.She falls for him hard once that organization turns its fangs on him and he obliterates them and the woman of his dreams becomes his living nightmare. He doesn't want a woman to fawn over him, he wants her to resent him and go along with his wishes against her will.In the end he gets emotionally slapped around by his robomom and butlerdad and ultimately commits to a happily wedded life, knocking her up twice. It also ends up making him one of the least corrupt nobles in the galaxy as honeytraps are a big part of the bribery and political blackmail that goes on. He just no way fags all the sluts and creates his own money, so he's basically untouchable from the point of view of potential scandals.
>>22940045He marries her and even has a child, so actually you will love this.
>>22942070>>22933076I noticed a curious feature of isekai-mecha, which is that their heroes do not suffer from typical Japanese cockblocking. It is quite natural and normal for them to have an intimate life with their girls (even if they are aliens or gynoids) and have children...After a bunch of standard fantasy isekai (except for specialized erotic ones) with impotents, as well as harem stories without a harem (the fucking rule of the first tsundere chick you meet), Mercenary and Lord are good.Although, I would prefer an anime about Mercenary, since Liam is sometimes too parodic...
>>22942242It's probably that isekai has nothing to lose there since it goes on wish-fulfillment side in the first place, whereas non-isekai genre alternatives are there to get the most mileage, potential, and maybe merch out of the story.i.e. how many people waifu/husbandfag over "taken" girls/boys from isekai?
>>22942242>>22942449Oh I'm reading with my ass a bit.I have no relevant explanation, then.
>>22942242now that you mention it Orguss could probably qualify as isekai and the MC in that is a certified vag slayer
