will we ever see more Gridman?
>>22905569Maybe someday
>>22905569I sure hope not.
do we need to?
>>22905569God willing, no. What an absolute cancer of a franchise.
see what? you mean Rikka?
>>22905569No, only the first gridman anime was good, dynazenon and the movie are bad.
>>22905569only if it's live action again
>>22905569 I would like to see Hasegawa and Trigger's take on WoO or Jumborg Ace.
Would love to see a current say live action Gridman.
I still don't understand who the villain from the movie was or why they were so important. Also is real life real or not? You see the princess, who was a character (mentioned, not shown) from the original series, as an anime character in the movie. But then IRL Akane is still live action.
>>22906150the princess we see in the movie is not the "real" one. She's like Gauma, a version of them Gridman created. It's hinted that Gauma's reincarnation is Yomogi but because gridman made a fanfic. Gauma also exist.
>>22905569On its 35th anniversary.
>>22905595bump :)
I'd be surprised if they let a cash cow just die
Guess they run off things to milk from the original series. As in, every assist weapon, mechs and plot point that referenced the original series was already used. One could say that Gridman Sigma is missing, but Knight already plays the role of supporter and Gridman's new form is similar to him. If they want to continue this series it would have to be something completely new. Personally I feel like Universe was a good closure and I wouldnt mind if that was the end. But still, the franchise is too big to finish, so who knows. Also, the princess was cute and I hope to see more of her.
>>22905569I wish.
I enjoyed early Gridman. It felt like they properly captured 2 grown men fighting in rubber suits, but that slowly devolved into jarringly placed fan service and dropped plot points. The show actually seemed like it tried to be a little more than just an excuse to have giants fight in a city but the disappointment of abandoning what could've made it something interesting just left me feeling like I was lead on for no explanation to the setup. These loose ends were eventually partially explained in Gridman Universe but what nothing-burger that was. Also, Akane sucks.
>>22912326Goddamn.
>>22912346I liked her as female Takeshi. Bad nerd girl on a power trip. But her appearance in the movie fucked it all up to me. Gave this vibe that the WHOLE cyber world is just her dollhouse populated by her favorite toys that keep playing with each other even if she's not around. The cyber would felt so much bigger in the original toku, like it was proportional to our world, mirroring the significance and function of real world facilities. It existed for everyone even if few people knew about it.It essentially went from like the net in MegaMan Battle Network in the original show, to feeling like it was just one girl's computer (like in say, Mainframe's Reboot) in SSSS gridman. But it seemed okay cause it could have just been a keyhole view into this version of the cyber world. A small simulation within a bigger virtual space.I feel like Dyna Zenon was working towards this, and Universe seemed to be continuing down this path by implying the world from SSSS was just one of many "universes", but it's undercut by Akane showing up again (who apparently has more important things to do IRL), and becoming some magical universe goddess just for showing and yanking on Alexis's leash. It also bothered me that her magical girl outfit seems to get it's motif from the Kaiju Eugenicists uniforms (having a stripe for each of their colors), despite no connection between the characters being established. She's just queen of the Kaiju badguys she never met, I guess. It continued to give this vibe that the whole setting (including other all other "universes") are easily usurped by a regular ass human from the real world. Even though she's apparently moved on with her life.I know you're supposed to view the individual worlds in this series through a lense of relativity, and not worry about some hierarchy of what's "real" and not, but I feel like Akane showing back up really threw a wrench in that sentiment, for me.
gridman universe won an audience prize in some korean film festivallazy to post link
