How do you pilot humanoid machine with two sliding sticks and pedals?
>>22906452The same way why you can control a Human in Video Games probably. So basically, pre-programed preset movement based on certain input with some degree of AI to fine tune it based on the environment. Thus comes another question... whuch is superior for mech control? Keyboard and mouse or Joystick?
>>22906452Usually drunk
>>22906452Have you never played a video game?
>>22906452Macro bitch, have you ever heard it?Come back again when you can perform a super-cancel with a single hand.
>>22906452Literally AI, finetuned by the pilot. The pilot points into a direction or at an enemy and the machine does the rest based on sensor data. MSG frequently mentions a learning computer which is just what AI is. Amuro constantly tinkers with how the Gundam reacts when he realizes that a movement pattern that worked against a Zaku doesn't work as well against a Gouf for example. This software is distributed to all other machines which is why the GM is so superior to Zeon machines, yet can get outmaneuvered by a skilled enemy pilot. You still need good reaction time to trigger a movement that the machine doesn't do on its own.
Ive thought the same thing ever since I started watching Gundam. With all the crazy move's the suits are doing it doesn't really make sense, unless>>22906839
>>22906452As many anons ITT have mentioned, with a Mobile Suit a serious portion of the work literally is being done for you by the robot in question. A Mobile Suit is responding to and interpreting your inputs automatically to some degree, and if you want in a situation like the Last Shooting you can out and out have your MS run 100% on automatic. Problem is in Gundam MS on full auto are pretty uncommon, sometimes maybe they'll shoot a dude down but they simply don't seem to be as effective as piloted MS.
>>22906891That's because anon is completely correct, literally every thing he has talked about is mentioned in the OG show and even occasionally gets referenced beyond it. A Mobile Suit is effectively controlled by macro; there's a scene in F91 for example where Seabook is told that manually picking up his rifle is a waste of time and that his suit is set to perform that action automatically, which he should allow to happen for his own good. The OG Gundam's learning computer was a big deal because, unlike a machine like an OG Zaku, which has a fixed bank of preperformed macros ala a video game character and full manual control, the Gunam's learning computer lets it create new sets of actions based on previous battles. Again, in video game terms, imagine your character being able to slowly develop entirely new actions and animations the more you played. You still need to be a good pilot but it's a tremendous help.
>>22906452You don't. Not fully. The MS has a bunch of macros (pre-programmed actions) like stand, sit, crouch, jump, pick up weapon, boost, etc. It's like playing a with video game controller. Something like dozens and dozens of macros are stored in Zaku memory. Each button on the joystick is a shortcut to a macros. Before battle, You program your joysticks and buttons with the most used macros. It's like playing God of War on Playstation or Batman Arkham Asylum on Xbox. Lots of QuickTime events where you choose which button to press to finish off enemies with specific attacks. In your spare time, you can program more macros into memory like Char did with his Char kick and Char punch. There is an option for full manual, but it's very clunky and slow. Like playing a level In a video game where you have to lightly tap the controller to get through an obstacle course but not touch the walls. It's why Zakus move so fast in combat, but are so slow when doing physical labor like repairing the side of a Colony. The operator has to switch to manual mode. The Gundam has a learning computer with generates new macros as it fights more enemies. So it starts doing moves no one programmed into it.
>>22906452IDK what it is, but there's something about the analogue nature of these Zeek cockpits that speaks to me, at least when compared to how sleek and bleeding edge the Feddie's Gundams are.
>>22907195That's not a Zeon cockpit
>>22906452There's a lot of pre-programmed actions and in UC Gundam they're also using stuff from a learning AI.
>>22906452The computer does most of the work. Pilot mostly chooses movement direction, speed, and target designation.
>>22907310Prove it
>>22907310I think the original image had text identifying it as a Principality design, which was cut out here. I don't actually know where where the art is from though.
>>22906902I miss the gundam’s learning computer so much. It’s brought back in such a genius way in the last shooting when it walks on it’s own
>>22907450What is that giant grey insect looking mecha on the left?
>>22907450Why is the core fighter still there? Amuro ejected and used it to escape. It should be long gone.
>>22907473NTA but it's probably just a chunk of debris in the foreground.
>>22907490That's the scene where he goes back for the core fighter after the char duel
>>22907490the time between the A parts being removed and Amuro actually leaving in the core fighter was not brief. He just sat there for a while.
