I want a vidya where you build up a city starting in the Meiji period, and periodically a kaiju will show up to rampage for a while. Initially you only have WW1 tech to defend yourself and are limited similarly in what buildings you can plop down. But as decades pass, your tech improves and so do your defenses - although certain buildings will become more powerful in the late game, like shrines and valuable tourist attractions like castles.The idea is that your city is constantly being destroyed and rebuilt, and eventually you can fight the kaiju off with Show and Heisei style mechs and robots, as well as Power Rangers and Magical Girls.
