The Ani-Image models weren't bootlegs though, they were very deliberately based on known franchises (the same company later made toys for SDF Macross). Their price point was not much different from other model kits.

I remember in the 90s I built a Bolt gundam lookalike that had a dark colored head(same color as the body). And it could transform into a jet-thing. I'm gonna assume it was a bootleg like these because I can't find any information on it.
