>Doan's Island episode is still omitted for literally no reason
>Zeta missing opening and ending songs copyright issues still not resolved 20 years later
>ZZ dub not included
>G Gundam is out of print
Piracy wins as usual
>>
Just own a Japanese release.
>>
>>22922438
I wish I knew why ZZ has still yet to be dubbed. Is it just a general lack of interest or is something specific blocking it?
>>
>>22922438
>Dirty Pair bluray still not out
>>
>>22922488
It was dubbed and aired on TV in southeast asia in 2005. Look up ZZ Animax dub. Sunrise is preventing it from being released on video.

What kind of tourist are you? Nobody has that ZZ dub outside of the handful of clips floating around.
>>
>>22922514
For some reason a lot of people these days seem to think that all media has been preserved forever and don't understand the idea of something simply not existing anymore because it was locked in a leaky basement for 30 years.
>>
>>22922515
Who knew the grandpas who have been dubbing Godzilla movies, Godfrey Ho joints, and Transformers for half a century would have been bad at media preservation.
>>
>>22922528
Media preservation on the whole is a relatively modern concept. Nobody expected a need to preserve media in the first place beyond whatever home video release it might have gotten. If you got a VHS tape you were preserved.

>G Gundam is out of print
From what I've seen, it seems like crunchyroll is likely discontinuing all the gundam media labeled as being made by rightstufanime, which is everything except for the last few releases. Hopefully they will print new copies in the near future if there are ones you want that you don't have yet.
>>
>>22922438
The worst of all of them is the MSG movie trilogy release not including the original theatrical music and sound. It only has the terrible mid 2000s remaster.
>>
>>22922575
The U.K. release has the original audio strangely.
>>
>>22922592
The 4k version? Isn't that because some recent audio restoration technique was used?
>>
>>22922530
A bunch of dubs by Frontier Enterprises went unreleased or rarely screened and are likely forever lost. Ogon Bat, Saint Seiya, Space Ace, and many others.
>>
>>22922563
I did miss out on a few, so hopefully crunchyroll does reprints, especially if they include the aforementioned missing stuff.

who the fuck cares about dubs honestly

I don't particularly have anything against them but I imagine a lot of these niche shows could probably survive without them and frankly doing a dub only really adds time and cost to the project. Seriously. Three years. Ignoring the stuff that already had a dub that just leaves the TV series which really shouldn't have taken this long. I'm not pretending I know much about the industry but how long does it really take to recorn an episode? Higher budget television shows were filmed in less time.

I doubt this will ever be resolved. Even after Neil Sedaka dies I bet they still will have issues.

Sorta on-topic but
>Have pretty much the entire Gundam catalog on Bluray via Rightstuf slowly collected over the years (Sole exceptions being the SEED/Destiny releases since I had the old DVDs already and didn't want the remasters, Build shows, and short OVAs like Twilight Axis)
>Building up xmas list for the family and browsing Crunchyroll store (rip Rightstuf) to see what're the new releases
>See that WFM finally got a state side release a few months back
>It's split between two $70 releases (On sale for $50!) for 13 episodes each so you're spending $100+ for 26 episodes
>They're only available as Steelbooks (Hate this fad) with no standard Bluray box version listed
>According to the description there's no extras aside from the bog-standard creditless OP/ED that's expected in these sort of thing, not even trailers.
>According to user reviews there's not even menu music and there's no subs for the OP/EDs and for signs/locations/etc, so it's pretty much whatever subs Crunchyroll put up when the show aired originally
>Even if they did make a regular non-steelbook release they'd probably just use the same disc printings instead of bothering with a new version with better subs

Every day I'm reminded why Discotek and sometimes Sentai are the only decent companies left putting out physical anime releases.

I'm still waiting for the G-Reco movies to get a non retarded import price release
>>
>>22922488
In terms of an Ocean/Blue Water dub, apparently MSG and Zetas's DVD sales weren't too good so ZZ's dub got scrapped to prioritize newer/prettier looking shows like Turn A, SEED, and 00
>>
>>22922438
>Doan's Island episode is still omitted for literally no reason
isn't it omitted because of Tomino having beef with someone who worked on that specific episode?
>>
>>22930942
The story I recall is that the episode wasn't up to snuff, even though 0079 as a whole wasn't exactly up to snuff.
>>
>>22929823
I really want those.

I'm also surprised we haven't gotten any of the SD stuff. I mean one aired in America. And there are the classic UC parody shorts which should have some kind of market.
>>
>>22930945
Apparently there is a personal issue involved too. I forget who, but somebody involved, Yaz or Tomino or such, said the full story can't be told because somebody is still alive. So yeah, there's some personal hatred involved. It was also designed as a filer episode that could be plugged in during random spots in the run if they fell behind. So it wasn't a well regarded script even then.
>>
>>22930970
You really think someone would do that? Go on the internet and tell lies?
>>
>>22930971

What part is the lie?
>>
>>22930970
>said the full story can't be told because somebody is still alive
99.999 percent chance that was a joke meant to shut down a retarded question.
>>
>>22930977
If that nugget was from Tomino, really could be. If from anybody else, I doubt it.
>>
It's weird to be that they still try to keep the actual Doan's Island episode erased when the movie literally has eastereggs for people familiar with it.
>>
>>22925733
>who the fuck cares about dubs honestly
It's called having standards. If a dub was made, then it should be included. You should be getting the most value for your hard earned money. Not some barebones release.
>>
>>22930945
It's not even the most jank episode.
>>
>>22931018
Shitting tears over a shit dub isn't having standards, it's being a ridiculous grasping clown. It would be nice to have as an extra, but shut the fuck up, nobody thinks it's necessary.
>>
>>22931018
On some principle I agree but you sound like a spoiled child. You only want it because some one said you can't have it. This isn't them purposely cutting material to sell later. This is them not including something they're physically incapable of doing that wasn't very good in the first place.
>>
The only Gundam dub worth saving is the movie trilogy where they made Bright British and thought Noa was his first name
>>
>>22922488
>needing a dub
今は何年だ。。。
>>
>>22931845
I wish Steve Blum voiced another Gundam character.
