Kamen Rider Revice Episodes 15+16.Well, Im a week into Revice, and the first arc has ended on a bit of a mixed note for me. Good stuff includes the way Ikki acts thanks to the experiences he's had so far, and even his bond with Vice and siblings. Also, Hiromi was good in these episodes, pushing his limits and showing leadership. In my opinion, they got rid of Planarian, Saber Tiger and Chameleon far too quickly. I think they could have continued to have some rivalry with Sakura, Ikki and Hiromi respectively. Yukimi is also someone I kinda didn't care for in Ep.16. Yes, she's realistic in how a parent would react to her situation, but at the same time, well I don't know, the thing isn't done in a way that compels me.There's seems to be some good setups for what awaits in the next arc, and the one character Im looking forward the most to see is Julio, so Im cautiously optimistic, even if some of you said that Q2 is where Revice drops in quality.

There's no set standard for Kamen Rider, it entirely depends on who is writing what. Gotchard literally tried to have both, it had the Decade fanwankery in Legend and that entire AR Bullshit, but then also turn around in the same special and try to imply SHOCKER was a thing on the World of Gotchard. At which point the Winter Movie didn't even try to use ARs as an excuse for why the Geats cast was there.

Rewatching Zero-One, I gotta say the suit acting for Ark-One is just top notch. It feels so rare to have a Rider no-diff enemies in his new suit and actually look cool doing it, usually coming off as stiff or artificial instead, but whatever direction they gave Nawata and Takaiwa created one of the best executions of it in the franchise.

And kept that position even as the show struggled and got cancelled, with Rider taking almost 10 years to get another tv series on air afterwards (and in future appearances Super-1 got treated like the important one compared to Skyrider).

The issue with Komura's shows is that we usually get stuck with a nice dynamic like that until you're just bored of seeing it over and over. It's not about it suddenly becoming a trainwreck when q2 arrives (well, aside from the final few episodes which then are a rushed ending).

The whole justification for it is that he wants to keep them safe from the Granute business but he keeps getting them involved in it and the Granutes already know what he looks like under the mask anyways because never bothers to hide his transformation from them. This time around he even dragged Shouma along just to keep his cover which is completely counterproductive to his concerns.
