I just finished OO as my second Gundam series and I really disliked it apart from a couple things. 3/10 or 4/10 at best with all the blatant writing errors, plot holes, stupid characters, and stupid plans. Only other show I have been forced to watch by someone else for Gundam is G and I thought it was 6/10.
That being said, is all of Gundam just bad/mediocre? I plan to one day watch UC since it is considered a "classic" but if all of Gundam only has mediocre writing at its very best I really don't even want to bother.

I really want to believe you but on /m/ specifically I have seen so many people overhype stuff I think is just okay or decent.
Happened for a couple kamen rider shows and sentai stuff (W and Jetman are super overhyped) and Gunbuster was just meh until the final episode which was pretty great despite the giant plot hole.
That being said, do you truly mean that UC is great or just that it is passable/decent? Don't you lie to me,
