Anyone else really like old mecha designs but thinks the anime is pieces of shit with terrible writing and animation? Why do people like mecha anime?
>yeah guys let's not gatekeep what could go wrong?>a hobby can't survive without new blood!!
>>22948954What are you "gatekeeping"? People actually watching mecha anime and realizing how bad it is and how your autistic conceit is completely baseless?

Personally, I like the soundtrack and production of old shows compared to newer ones; a lot of brass and strings, funky melodies, the drawings on celluloid, the little practical effects to represent shiny lights or characters going further into the landscape and many more keep bringing me back to old shows all the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9aKDAcCFV4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SehHbl24gQkContemporary anime relies too much on quick cuts and CGI, and I have a hard time following the action scenes, on top of most of them having dumb or rehashed plots, even when old shows had those plot gaps as well. It's all toy ads, after all.>Slide thread.I know, but I also thought about this not long ago.
