What PS2 Gundamslop are worth playing?
>>
Gundam vs Zeta Gundam, Zeonic Front, Encounters in Space and Lost War Chronicles
>>
Federation vs Zeon for the full one year war experience.
Zeonic Front for the strange tactics game hijinks and that one horror mission.
Encounters in Space for a pretty decent space rail shooter game with some fun missions about less known aces.
Gundam vs Zeta Gundam for timeline shenanigans.

None if you're gonna take that attitude.

as a gamer I wouldn't really recommend any of them as 10/10 PS2 games. However, since we are on /m/ among Gundam fans, and since I've been playing through them, I'll rate em
>journey to Jaburo
Its very early PS2 slop. An effort was made to adapt an arc of 0079 but it is a miserable experience. dropped.
>encounters in space
actually super underrated. I'd even say it is great. I love StarFox64 and this game is like that. You must learn the controls well and not get filtered. Then it becomes a great adaptation of the final 0079 arc. It also includes an OC story and a bunch of mini-arcs where you play as pilots from OVAs and mangas, too. good amount of content and bang for your buck
>Federation Vs Zeon
I liked this game a lot and got sucked into it for a while last summer. dropped it when it got too frustrating. Reminds me of StarWarsBattlefront1, Arcadey third person shooter
>GundamVsZetaGundam
sequel to above with tons of Zeta era suits. core gameplay wasn't improved enough and I found myself frustrated having to replay missions more often than not. The super sick part is the giant branching story path with alt scenarios and many many characters. Impressive, but time consuming
>Zeonic front
learning curve. Take it seriously and its actually really unique. I was able to beat it in two sittings. I normally don't like commanding units and that sort of autism but the AI pathing is very interesting and the gameplay isn't total shit. Use the systems and you can win. Honestly immersive.
Gonna play G-Savior next. I like the multimedia approach and I hear it is very short which is fine by me. DWG2 looks peak but I bought it on PS3 instead. Will play some day.
>>
"Slop" should be wordfiltered, you all talk like niggers from Twitter.
>>
>>22953497
Federation vs Zeon and Gundam vs Zeta Gundam are GOAT
>>
>>22953680
I don't understand how you can love encounters in space and say Fed vs Zeon got too frustrating. Encounters in Space made me break a controller trying to get the goddamned S ranks and A ranks to unlock shit. Fuck that bullshit game.
>>
>>22953832
I never S ranked everything, that sounds rough. I will say though that Encounters is a hit or miss game, When it clicks it feels awesome, but if youre not in the zone with the controls it feels like busted ass.

all the games in this list are frustrating. FedVsZeon is a game I really enjoyed, its just that the end of the Zeon campaign sucks. Is the Fed campaign less brutal? CPU Guncannons tore me to bits, the player feels like theyre at a disadvantage because of enemy invincibility frames. Its the space battles mostly that were insane, bams coming from every direction and painfully outnumbered. About as fun as being a zeon grunt late in the OYW should be, I guess.
I put a lot of hours in tho. I think I just got burned out when I moved on to ZetaVs thinking itd be easier and I was getting killed by the same shit.

I just played 6/8 of the missions in G-Saviour btw. weird game you can dash past everything with your shield up. bosses were cool until they werent and I ragequit. music was excellent. worth screwing with if you like PS2 Gundam. Ran pretty smooth, almost want to say its underrated. Don't know if I'll finish tho which seems to be a trend with these games.
>>
>>22953877
>painfully outnumbered
>engine only allows 2v2
>>
Go back to /v/. Stupid teenager.
>>
>>22953897

I played FvsZ heavily (was my first introduction to Gundam), and while it was capped at 2v2 the Battle of A Baoa Qu missions were hell for Zeon. The AI get plenty of GMs, while your AI backup would go through two or three suits before capping out. Any damage taken would put a suit out of action for a few missions, leaving you with an increasingly small pool of 'viable' combatants.

Knowing what I know now, thematic as anything. Ace pilots having Gelgoogs which would get trashed and re-launching in whatever they could find.
>>
>>22953497
Man, I played the shit out of Dynasty Warriors Gundam back when I owned a 360. Really wish they’d port it to modern consoles or PC already. Or come out with a new entry.
>>
>>22953497
most are at least worth poking at for a few minutes
Zeonic Front is sort of an extension of the gameplay style of the DC game Rise From The Ashes
from my experience EiS is a lot less bad with a gameshark and the "max score" code
also iirc if you want to do it natty you have to use that auto target a lot and overkill all the ships and stuff

Dynasty Warriors is good if you don't have a better system to play it on but that's about it. If there's something unique about the PS2 version I don't remember.
>>
>>22953497
SD Gundam G Gen Wars.
That's about it. Didn't like any other Gundam game.

If crossovers with non-Gundam titles count too then SRW Z and ACE 2-3.

Slop is a 4chan meme.
Tourist is a twitter meme.
>>
How does anyone feel about Battle Assault 3. Most I know is its primarily SEED characters and you only have the Strike and its variants to start off with. Everything else needs to be unlocked. I enjoyed the GBA game though.
>>
>>22954096
Terrible. Clunky to control and a huge step down in suits compared to 2.
>>
>>22954050
>Slop is a 4chan meme
Longcat is long etc.
>>
>>22953644
Dubs of justice. MS Saga is a game that lives rent free in my mind. It was initially proposed as a Turn A sequel. I wish there was another MS Saga game, with the ability to build the MC's powers as a melee or martial artist or gunner or newtype. Maybe something in space with the G Systems housing G Colonies, each with different factions or technology eras.
>>
>>22954050
Both are gay tranny reddit niggertalks
>>
>>22954096
I forgot all about it. Hate it. The PS1 games are masterpieces in comparison.

slop is a based 4chan term. derived from "goyslop". an antisemitic yet uplifting term, designed to shame 4chan users away from certain food and media. You are not cattle!
Brought to you by the creative minds over at /pol/, /tv/, and /ck/. I promise you nobody on Twitter was saying goyslop two years ago when 4chan started calling fastfood and woke netflix shows -slop.
bandai ps2 games made in less than a year are kinda sloppy. ESPECIALLY battleassault3.

I played G-Saviour last night. the music and style are very 2000 cool. weird game where you can dash past all the enemies. I feel like some y2k aesthetic influencer could make use of the music and game footage. kinda cool kusoge.
>>
>>22955046
>I feel like some y2k aesthetic influencer could make use of the music and game footage. kinda cool kusoge.
Nah fuck off.
>>
>>22954121
MS Saga is a fun idea, but the actual game is such a generic JRPG that it has no replay value whatsoever.
>>
>>22955181
I don't know how else to describe the value of this game. It isn't super fun, it isn't super interesting, but it definitely succeeds at being "mecha PS2 Drumn'Bass" in a way that i think aesthetes and nostalgics unspokenly crave. I get that you want to gatekeep G-Saviour, but at the same time, its so niche on top of niche that I don't think you really have to worry about people coming to the hobby or forum through it.

>SD Gundam G Gen Wars.
This for me too. I loved Wars as well as World and Overworld.
I never bothered with most of the PS2 Gundam games because they were mostly UC focus which I don't care about.
>>
>>22955373
>It isn't super fun, it isn't super interesting
Awesome, more for me, now fuck off, I've been playing it since 2008, I bought the soundtrack and the guide too. You? Neither.
>>
>>22955046
>slop is a 4chan term!
This isn’t “4chan.” This is /m/. This board used to be so much better than the rest of the site, but thanks to crossboarding newfags like your good self who are too stupid to even bother code-switching it’s now an unbelievable dump indistinguishable from /a/, /v/, or /tv/. Le kino BASED 4chan sovl cringe slop! Normie normie cuck normie, mog beta cringe slop!
>>
>>22955436
>This board used to be so much better than the rest of the site
debatable desu
it's just we grew older and modern day idiocy is not that funny as old day idiocy
>>
>>22953497
I like the Vs games, Encounters in Space is excellent as well. Still need to play Zeonic Front.
>>
>>22955595
It's both. The rest has gone to shit much further and faster than here, and then you get idiots like the earlier post trying to drag that shit here. It's not a new thing, but modern day idiocy being so much dumber makes it much more irritating.
>>
>>22955295
It just needed a new game plus that let's you start with blueprints and edit the main characters boosts. Fortunately you can use mods and hacks to add in blueprints anytime, and ECAPs. The plot did need more cooking, as it it a pretty generic jrpg plot. But doing it with Gundams was enough for me.
>>
>>22955384
You will die alone, old man.
>>
>>22953644
I replay this game every couple of years. I would kill a multiple children for another.
>>
>>22955924
Already married and own a house, try again.
>>
>>22956694
Then let people enjoy things.
>>

>Devil Gundam is a chapter boss 2/3 of the way in
>α Azieru is the final boss
>>
>>22955739
Probably true.
I'm too tired to just be online anymore.
>>
>>22955436
This.
>>
>>22953644
this game needs a lot of polish but it's not bad
also it looks, feels, and plays exactly like Pokemon Colluesum/XD on Gamecube for some reason
>>
>Ctrl+F
>no mention of Climax UC
Really guys?
>>
>>22959178
The era of /m/ users enthusiastic enough to play imports is long in the past, 95% of this board now is people whose only exposure to Gundam is through domestic releases.
>>
>>22959301
I think some SEA releases have been popular here semi-recently like GGen games and GB3, but yeah I don't think many people here go back and play many older imports sadly.
>>
How about Generation of C.E.? I think it's basically G Gen but with regular proportions. Also, it's got a few different alternate endings and it was made while Destiny was airing.
>>
>>22959178
That game is straight wannabe ACE garbage.
>>
>>22959390
See?
>>22959301
>>
>>22959404
Basically, anyone actually earnest is gone, these boards in general now are full of posters with shitty competitive personalities for no reason. There was a thread for 'obscure' fifth gen /m/ games and I posted that some of us had been playing those games since the 00s, the first reply to that was "no you haven't". It's all shit now.
>>
Wouldn't being worth playing make them not slop to begin with?
>>
>>22966048
don't try to reason with /v/tards, it's not worth it
>>
>>22953497
PS2 is peak gundam game era, the PS3 didn't have as many good games, and the PS4/PS5 had even less. I forgot Dynasty Warriors Gundam was even a thing.

>>22955436
/m/ has been garbage for years now, and the community ruined, ruined by all the newfags that came in back then. I barely even recognize the place now, we used to have a cool community going on here.

>>22953644
I would love a remake or sequel to this, the concept was so fire.

>>22959416
Hasn't /m/ always been into older shows and games? Most /m/ anime isn't even that modern, especially the popular ones on this board.
>>
>>22953680
Very solid summation. I'd say Fed v Zeon/Gundam v Zeta >>> Zeonic Front >>>>>> Encounters in Space
I know I've played Jaburo but have zero recollection of it.
MS Saga perhaps has the longest tenure of any game in my backlog.
>>
>>22953644
The aesthetic of this game reminds me a lot of the new Gundam series.
>>
>>22953497
I've played journey to jaburo, but it's super short so there's not much to say.
DWG2 isn't bad, but if you've played koei musou games recently, it's really hard to get back into because it's barebones as fuck.
GGen Wars is still the best modern GGen to me. The gameplay is broken as fuck in your favor, but you also need to earn it unlike every game since overworld. It has a lot of small details like ships having different shape in the map, alternate modes at max tension, cut-ins, anime music. Only thing bad about it is the ancient UI.

>>22959401
Climax UC has a really bad weapon toggle system, not fun at all
>>
>>22978577
>DWG2 isn't bad, but if you've played koei musou games recently, it's really hard to get back into because it's barebones as fuck.

I prefer DWG2 to DWG3 because I hate 3's tiny maps, not to mention all the new systems they added feel arbitrary as fuck.
>>
>>22977439
It should at least remind you of stuff like Turn A and G-Reco since its the same character design (plus a shit ton of Capcom fighting game; not just the mainstream ones either.)
>>
>>22979403
I'm aware it's Akiman. The early 00s street fashion parts of the designs are what make it feel like GQX to me.
>>
>>22953497
All of them.
>>
does anyone here play A.C.E 3 on Steam Deck?
the game runs too fast but the other games run fine.

Not a PS2 game, but I’ve been playing MS Sensen 0079 for the Wii these past couple of weeks, and I recommend it. It’s basically Rise from the Ashes with Wii pointer controls and a similar level of content to Encounters in Space. The controls work well, there’s plenty of MS and weapons to unlock, it’s got campaigns for both Feddies and Zeon, and the AI can be pretty challenging at times. There’s a translation patch that translates all the text, and it’s pretty cheap to buy physical copies.
>>
>>22985000
This game's great. Try SD Gundam Gashapon Wars, too, for the Gamecube or Wii. Very fun little strategy game with adorable art.
>>
>>22985057
Not a fan of SDs.
