Honestly surprise so many people aren't enjoying Boonboomgers. Don't get me wrong it's far from the most creative or innovative Sentai but I actually think I like it more than King Ohger
Enjoy the cast, enjoy the villains mostly, and have found a lot of the episodes to be pretty fun.

You know that's probably a good way to put it actually that I hadn't thought about. King Ohger unsurprisingly lent itself better to having extended discussions after episodes since, you know, it had a real plot. Here everything is basically a one and done save for the Genba arc.

I will say I've been struggling to keep invested in it. Like >>22959119 said, it's fairly enjoyable in the moment but it has almost no lasting impact. I feel like I'm not going to really be looking back on it once it's over.

I still really like the core 5 team and the battle choreography. But everything else is just OK, so it's hard to get as invested.
The mix of the producer making things a bit too dumbed down due to having mostly only worked on edutainment prior to this and the main writer leaving for multiple episodes to write Fairy Tail and Sentai Red Isekai really hurt the momentum this show had in the beginning.

Episodes can be fun but it's carried heavily by how good the fights are, I can't say I care about any character in it. The Cannonborg stretch in particular was brutal, even by "usual Sentai" standards those episodes felt like they were on auto-pilot.

They most likely were, the main writer only wrote Sakito's introductory 3-parter. He was probably occupied writing Anime.

On that note Sakito is easily the most no-substance sixth I think I've ever seen in a Sentai. He basically gets zero character development or focus outside of his introductory arc and mostly just exists to be a part of fights. Byoon-D is more of a character than Sakito.

Enjoyed Gran Turismo well enough, but I'm scared that he won't get many episodes.
Also the main villain trio got stale pretty fast, I really wish they did more interesting things like the Team Rocket duo of Gaoranger.

I think it's not only that it doesn't have much of an ongoing plot, but the characters themselves aren't quite as distinguishable as we'd been getting from a while. Like I think only Jou is particularly memorable from among the team because of how incredibly pure he is, and even then they've kinda not drawn too much attention to that trait of his in a while.

On the other hand we're coming from Kira/Zenkai/Donbros/King-Oh all of which had a cast of characters who were very much larger than life with defining if exaggerated traits that make you eagerly wait for the next episode just to see what's the next shenanigans Haruka will get herself into or something.

Takamichi was just another member of the team who barely got to do anything interesting. He was mostly just there (the fact that the most people could say about him is the stale "this guy fucks" meme says a lot) like most of the Kiramagers, Sakito only manages to be more "just there" than him because he has no ties to the central plot at all.

It's fine but it's not really that engaging compared to the promise it showed early on, particularly with the marketing.

The cast is fun but there's a lot of issues surrounding everyone but Mira.
>Sakito has had his entire character forgotten after he met his single Earth friend just so he and ByoonDiesel can say they're "Cleaners" (As in, literally people who clean stuff with brooms) or that something is "Chaotic".
>They're obviously going to start having Jou question authority and what is justice with how the ISA is compromised so he's next on the character development block but right now he's just "A good police officer" and nothing more than that.
>Genba's character arc was so hamfisted to separate from the team and mope for no reason only to realize exactly what everyone's been telling him for literally six episodes.
>Taiya has backstory but isn't that interesting at all nor is really developed outside of his motivation to do stuff. He's just a walking sack of money.
>Super secret agent Chasshiro isn't interesting at all either since they don't want to go into any detail about him at all outside of him being a genuinely cold-hearted person until he met Taiya.

Story-wise it feels like your average Sentai where it spins its wheels which would be fine for newcomers but isn't that interesting for anyone watching it regularly, and we're building up to the BBG which doesn't seem interesting at all and will be a CG fest when it does happen or it's explained off screen since it takes a year to perform in.

Mad Rex was so far the best part of the show and he wasn't around for that much of it. Team Rocket gets a lot of focus but until 38 didn't really get actual development outside of minor stuff about Mad Rex in either 32 or 33 and it feels like they already want to heel turn them but can't for reasons. Giorno Giovanna popping in as the big bad also doesn't seem that interesting, only the ISA corruption does right now for me at least.
