ITT: we talk about 70's supers outside of the usual suspects.

If any of you wanna watch 'em or don't already know their translation situation, Diapolon, Daikengo, Groizer X, Astroganger, & Ginguiser are all fully subbed, Ga-Keen has its first 10 episodes, Mechander Robo has its Filipino English dub, but you're out of luck with Godam, Machine Blaster, Balatack, & the rest of Ga-Keen.

Groizer X and Daikengo are both top tier classics of the 70s. I want to see Balatack.
>>
>super vs real
Kill yourself
>>
Fuck off duel.
>>
>>22974217
iirc there's actually a few eng dub eps of Balatack floating around, forget what the context of their production was
>>
>>22974255
Because there so many obscure 70s' reals to discuss.
>>
>>22974255
Where in the fuck did OP mention "vs"? You're dumb enough to be a botpost.

Stop being a fucking stupid faggot and using meaningless buzzwords like "real" and "super", all it does is out you as the tourist subhumans from tvtropes that you are.

I had a bunch of those comics as a kid. Picked them up at a local flea market. They were kind of neat.

I remember these. Although I do not remember any of the stories.

Apparently these were big in Italy once upon a time. In fact, I've only ever been able to find Balatack, Gakeen, and Gordian Warrior in their entirety in Italian.
>>
>>22976142
Some of the italian ops are actually pretty catchy

I actually liked Mechander Robo a lot. Those little yellow vehicles the enemy uses are neat, as well as the supercar the heroes get midway and their base in the stadium. I also liked what I saw of Gakeen; that secret battleship base is amazing. Tansor 5 is one of my favourite anime; it doesn't have robots but it has time-traveling vehicles that connect mysteries of the world to alien interference, so that's neat. I haven't seen Ginguiser and Groizer, but they look interesting.
It's not technically 70s but Trider G7 is pretty cool; it's got lots of battles in space, some cool enemy robots, and the robot launches out of a playground.

Because in the past they were made with "soul", but since the 90s things have changed. I usually don't like Italian theme songs, I prefer Japanese ones, but the older ones have something magical even if I didn't personally experience that period and in any case many anime broadcast in Italy had translation and adaptation problems and sometimes even audio and video synchronization problems.

You're a special type of retarded, and I've been posting on here since 2005.
>>
The thing I love about 70's super robot anime is no matter how obscure or jank they may be, not a single one of them is ever shallow, they always make at least SOME effort at pathos or at doing something interesting or ambitious with the story!
>>
>>22977477
you've never seen Raideen I take it
I wasn't the biggest fan of Daitarn either

No need to project tvtropes user, and no-one believes you anyway.
>>
I know this is a toku, but have any non-toku fans here watched Super Robot Red Baron? I'm 14 episodes in & it kicks ass!
>>
>>22977553
Never once used tvtropes.
>>

Any mecha robot fan knows that super means stuff like Mazinger and real stuff like Gundam, it's a simple but effective way of generalizing the genre. If someone says they're a fan of super you'll never recommend them L-gaim if what they want to watch is the robot that uses special moves to defeat the motw. I understand you might not like it but there's no need to insult someone just because they use those two words.

>If someone says they're a fan of super you'll never recommend them L-gaim
jfc
At first I was against the guy sperging about super vs real but now I agree with him
>>
>>22986417
They are meaningless words that tell you nothing about a series. You say they are simple but they are impossible to define. One can easily argue that Mazinger is more realistic than Gundam.
>crying about being insulted
Kill yourself you stupid faggot. You are on fucking 4chan, grow a pair.
>>

According to this reasoning we shouldn't have sword and sorcery, high fantasy, low fantasy, dark fantasy, urban fantasy, etc. as far as fantasy is concerned because the only thing they have in common is fantasy.

Look, I'm not offended, not even by what you just wrote, it's just that I think it's very childish to insult someone because they express an opinion even if it's considered wrong.
