Even if the Mk VI is delayed a bit, I believe we need the Mk V more in the short term. Quess is still too green to be sent alone and there's a chance that Gyunei is still looking for the other Mk V. Sending both Amuro and Quess gives us a higher chance of recovering that Mk V and giving Quess some real combat experience at the cost of slightly delaying the Mk VI.
