Masaki had to use all the spirits in La Gias to cancel out his negative energy with their positive energy and annihilate them both, but his body fell into the Crossgate at the end so maybe he didn't quite die and by extension maybe the spirits didn't quite die either. Either way that's why Cybuster is nerfed into the ground when it comes back in Moon Dwellers, it's using a bootleg engine that runs on Crossgate energy and then that gets shut down too when Touya slices the Crossgate in half. At the end of MD you fight a second Ancient Giant, this one being the one who gave Fighter Roar his power, but since Granteed's head jewel contains the remaining spirit of the Giant who gave the Fury their technology, they can kill XN-L just by shooting it a lot. The one who was in La Gias doesn't get a name, he just gets called by the name of his species.

It’s a pretty refreshing change of pace to see the Balmar Empire is already throwing a lot of it’s manpower at you in the early game in Alpha 3, most SRW OG enemy factions only start attacking you in the mid to endgame.

Even fully upgraded Mazingers will eat shit after a couple of hits because they have no special defense types, I did a run where I fully upgraded them and they were still complete ass. Getter-2 is good because it gets two different Double Image abilities and they stack, Daimos is good because once it's aced it activates Sword Cut 100% of the time, Daitarn is good because it gets both Sword Cut and Shield Defense.RX-78 with G-Fighter is decent but not because it's an amazing unit, it's because it's a fine unit that takes up two deployment slots and you get almost no money in AP so the G-Fighter lets you bring one more support pilot who you don't have to upgrade to keep alive.

The El Dora team rarely felt like Old timers who were past their prime but rather a group of old fighters who could still keep up with the younger generation but were still clearly showing their age.
