There's no incentive to watch anything else when 90% of the catalog is about Gundam, if anything it rewards idiots who endlessly rewatch Gundam so they can get dopamine hits by arguing with other idiots online. I wouldn't really give a shit if there was more Gundam threads if there was literally anything interesting left to discuss but there isn't. The themes are not particularly deep or hard to unpack considering the series was designed for fourteen year olds, so that discussion is worn out already. Almost everything actually worth watching or reading has been translated. No newfag has a new opinion on the series that hasn't been discussed ad nausem, and every question that has ever been asked has been answered. Even the most minute shit, like "why are the beams pink" has been answered. There is nothing left to discuss with Gundam, but no-one would dare to watch anything else lest they miss out on Gundam discussion. As for the other Tomino shit, well it still gets way more discussion than anything else. It's more comforting to watch the work of someone you've already absorbed shit from rather than venture out. Unfortunately the lower IQ individuals on this board cannot fathom watching things for their own enjoyment and forming their own opinions, so they only watch Gundam and only have the approved opinion. The Mona Lisa is telling a story in an abstract way, even a painting of just splotches of colour is communicating a message. Anime is a storytelling medium that employs visuals to assist.
