>>23008655if it's just a machine gun or cannon or whatever, then it can probably use it, just maybe not efficiently or effectively as if it were specially designed for it (won't automatically know how to reload the weapon or handle recoil)if it's a (UC) beam weapon then it's more complex because the beam weapon has to receive electrical power to work, and the bigger the weapon, the more it needs. that means you need heavy duty power connector in the hand for high voltage/wattage power delivery. sometimes it doesn't matter because the weapon has its own battery or power supply, but recharging it means it has to be stored on a rack or reattached to a compatible machine. also most of the time a machine can use weapons from allies and other machines of the same faction. picking up enemy weapons is more of a guessing game, maybe it'll work, maybe it won't connect, whatever. fed and zeon had different hand plugs during the OYW and up until about zeta/ZZ, but afterward it's more likely to be compatible since AE ends up producing weapons for both sides
