Could Trigger save mecha anime again? Their 3DCG is not as good as Khara's but it's only a matter of getting good at it right? Considering 2D mecha seems more and more scarce lately, maybe Trigger's stylized track record could prove a good match for a long running mecha series.

Trigger can barely make decent works. They ruined Gridman so I have zero confidence in them to save anything. Their art style might even taint the next Aquarion series.
>>
>>23006328
Aquarion is notoriously a shit stained franchise, the change in style seems like a desperate attempt at standing out and it might just work.
>>
>>23006327
trigger's problem is that most of their works have really weak stories, they look great but god do the stories suck

Trigger is a cancer

Saving /m/ isn't entirely outside the realm of possibilities.

Is this an edit or official? Either way, fucking based.

Nice revisionism.

Trigger should make an Ultraman anime.
But instead of being set on Earth, it's set in space ala Star Trek Voyager and Farscape where we have a ship and a crew running it.
That and the ship's attack team has not!Gundams.
>>
>>23008756
Even better. He can kill himself as a gift for us all.
>>
>>23009067
you're gonna have to sell me harder on ultras piloting giant(er) robots
>>
>>23009067
>Trigger Ultraman anime
>they pilot giant kaiju mechs
Holy shit my dick.
>>
>>23009079
Gridshitters go first.
>>
>>23009083
The Ultra himself won't be piloting a bot.
However the main host partner of his is a 12 year old boy with a knack for engineering and tinkering, while the Ultra himself is a mutant Ultraman (experimented on by the big bad) who gains new abilities from absorbing genetic samples from the kaiju he defeats. On top of that he has physics manipulating abilities...that he himself didn't fully mastered. Justified since this Ultra is relatively young (like equivalent to someone in their mid teens).
The actual attack team is like the Night Raiders on steroids. Made up of enhanced humans and having bitchin gear...and mecha.
>>23009094
OK, that would be great. Bonus if they can shift between kaiju and humanoid forms + combine.
Noting that.
>>
>>23009260
>kaiju and humanoid forms
Kaiju ARE humanoids.

bro...

>he doesn't know
>>
>>23009351
think you got your 2 kais mixed up
>>
>>23009369
Okay but wouldn't something like godzilla or toho rodan be considered humanoid? Maybe I'm getting confused with anthro.
>>
>>23009390
kaiju just means monster and is often used to refer to the giant monsters in toku, whereas kaijin are the humanoid monsters, ju meaning beast and jin meaning human/person, there's no rule that states kaiju have to be humanoid
>>
>>23009401
I know all that, but Ultra kaiju are often humanoid since they have a dude inside.
>>
>>23009299
Not every my dear dude.
You saw the kaijus in Ultraman. They come in gamuts upon of gamuts of sizes and shapes. And not every single one is two legs and two arms. Kaiju is literally an alternative to bakemono (AKA: monster).
And by humanoid I meant switching between kaiju form and one that is kinda like a...Brave or a Mobile Suit-like.
That's what I meant.
And it would've been fun to see this.in a Ultraman show.

Also had the idea of a rival Ultraman that instead of being a mutant Ultraman like the MC, instead assimilates into himself pieces of various tech and recreating it all from his body (but with an application of his own aesthetics). A cyborg Ultraman that kinda works like T-1000.
>>
>>23009415
that sounds fucking stupid

Pregnancy isn't necessarily rule breaking, but this thread does have the Du*l taint to it of having his imagespam and necrobumling to it.

>>
>>23006327
Absolutely not. They use computers, there is no indication Japan wants 2D mecha outside of Gundam, and at some point you need to be efficient. Also their track record is extremely poor.
