Finally caught up with Arc. It’s weird how many elements of the show I love, but it doesn’t add up to being one of my favorites. Feels like it should be an S-Tier show, but it’s A-Tier for me. Maybe the ending will change my mind, however.

Mebius was pretty much a hail mary. And it didn't work very well given they had to scramble around with more experimental productions and got so desperate they straight up went into Pokemon knock-offs.

Funnily enough, that part failed, but Ultraman Zero and Belial's debuts in the MMB movie kept the franchise from going the way of Takara's toku productions.

Zero basically gave Ultraman a new face they could put on fucking everything that appealed to the modern shounen market since he was a cocky hot-blooded anime hero voiced by a very popular name. The money that came in from that alone basically let Tsuburaya persist until they recouped the funds to make a proper (if lower-than-average budget) TV show with Ginga and Ginga S instead of the direct-to-video films they'd been making with a skeleton crew. You can credit the survival of Ultra 55% to Zero and 45% to Ginga.
