Hey guys, random question but I was wondering if any of you had heard of this. I was doing some reading on Berserk and I happened to hear that Miura was working on a mecha project before he died:https://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?threads/a-giant-robot-animation-project-was-being-led-by-kentarou-miura.16104/Some friends of mine got some concept art for it too. Did anyone else ever hear of this? I wonder if there's more info floating around about it anywhere.

>>23017297This is the first time for me anon. I think this one evolved into Gigantomachia, because it has the feel of traveling through the deserts.
>>23017297>>23017310Haven't heard of it either but I just want to say that I like the asymmetrical cockpit placement (like in picrel).
This is a goddamn shame that he never got to complete it. Cool design though, love how unorthodox and tool-like it looks.the way it's designed you can tell he wasn't thinking about making something that looks cool and heroic, but rather from a more functional standpoint.>>23019231The SARGS in Argento Soma also had that
>>23019223>>23019231Yeah, the mecha design really is pretty interesting. God damn that aortal dissection (IIRC it was what got Miura), this could have been a fascinating series if he'd been able to get to it.
>>23017310I think that wouldve been alot to draw in action with detail, even for muria.
>>23017297What an odd yet charming design
>>23017310this thing fucking rules
>>23017310This thing fucking sucks.

>>23017297>Miura was working on a mecha project before he died:just when I thought there wasn't any more despair from his death
>>23022722And that reminds me that Toriyama also had some idea/rough drafts left behind, and one of those might had been a mecha series...
>>23017297GOD DAMMIT>>23027431he did try to revisit his mechanical root with the sand land revival plan (both the anime and game bombed)
>I want to draw sci-fi somedayThat hits like a ton of bricks. I feel so fucking bad for Miura. You can tell that he just wanted to draw all sorts of different stories but Berserk was such a cash cow for his publisher that he really couldn't ever escape it. Because of that publisher greed we really didn't get anything at all. Berserk declined with Miura's fatigue and was never finished while his works outside of Berserk are so few that it's unsatisfying. Tragically wasted talent. Fuck.
>>23027452I'm not sure it was publisher greed--from what I've read of interviews Miura actually was pretty close to the end of Berserk, so I don't think the publisher was encouraging him to drag it as far as it could go. The fatigue must have just got to him, I'd say...
>>23027734That and Idolmaster, probably.
>>23027734>Miura actually was pretty close to the end of Berserklol. just lol.
>>23022981>>23022982Thanks bro
