Eh, wasn't impressed. It wasn't bad, it wasn't particularly great. Still think the original show had a more engaging first episode. The impression i got is that they are in a virtual world or something, probably the inside of the egg mentioned in the prologue.

I'm not a huge fan of the text and emoji pop ups during the VR scenes. I'd have preferred to just have cuts to them inside the training pods like in the actual fight. Well, that was a really bizarre first episode, but bizarre is what I want from Aquarion. I'm fine with the artstyle overall, but I have to say the VR sections looked really shitty. It definitely felt like they were rushing really hard too, to get to the robot action by the end of the episode while also doing what little they can to sprinkle in setups for the plot and introduce the characters.What's there so far is definitely interesting, though. I'm sure things will slow down a bit after a couple episodes and things will get properly introduced and explained, and I'm really curious to see where things go with the plot elements that they've set up so far. I'm definitely more hooked already than I was by Logos' first half, it really feels like there's a lot going on in the setting and a story waiting to be revealed.
