When I was watching Ideon it was pretty evident very quick that they weren't friends and didn't really know each other, but with time and effort they became a team which worked pretty well. On the Buff Clan side you had a little shade of intrigue, e.g. their military temporarily being ousted from the operation to capture the Giant God being headed by mercenaries and what depths they stooped to. I could go on, honestly for example I also really liked things like the music and mechanical design, the latter of which I always think about.However, these things are subjective, so if you didn't like them that's alright.
