Not because I’m an avid shipper of them, which I’m not, but rather I find it kinda odd that despite the firestorm it created back in 2023, I never saw actual evidence which supported this claim.What do I mean by ‘evidence’? Well, I recently went back to read the statement Bandai made around the original Gundam ace digital magazine fiasco. What struck me the most was this part here: ‘As the work publisher, we would like to leave the anime watchers to understand the story in each of their own ways, and leave the rights of interpretations to the watchers’. In context, this would be addressing the confusion surrounding Gundam Ace’s odd decision to change one word from Ichinose’s interview.But here’s where I propose an alternative hypothesis: what if Kana Ichinose never said ‘marriage’ in the interview? Maybe what we’ve seen was simply a change due to a mistake, and the editor caught on to it. Plus, there’s no official material following up on this notion that Suletta and Miorine aren’t married.No additional manga, compilation films, or even the light novel adaptation coincide with this supposed ‘retcon’. Also, Bandai officially announced a spinoff AU manga where the first piece of promotional material we see is Suletta and Miorine eating together.My point is why would Bandai intentionally sabotage their own property by committing some vague notion of a retcon?
