I like some Gundam and I think Ideon is great, but Kawamori has more range and has done more work on a wider variety of mediums. Tomino laments that he never became a live action director, Kawamori has worked on live action productions.

I liked SDF Macross, Found out the series borderline ends on a cliffhanger that's semi explored but not really. Pretty much the main cast might as well be dead from the OG show. but had not the balls to show them dying. Moral of the story is there is only one good story teller in the mecha sphere and that's Tetsuya Takahashi. At lest when he cant continue his stories its all because of corporate BS
