So, what was going on here? AR Samsung Gear Digimon or something?
>>23037013>what was going on here?Absolutely nothing. There was not a single thread that connected anything in the show from start to finish. Pure monster of the week schlock and nothing more.
>>23037045No joke? I was trying to catch up through the various Wikis, and couldn't make heads or tails of it all.
>>23037013It's just gegege no kitaro but with Digimonit was cool, I liked it. Easily the best animated content we've had since Xros Wars.
>>23037112No joke. Even though story has always been a high-point of the franchise among other kodomo anime, this one's a total nothingburger.
>>23037429That first shinka is so kino though...What was going on? What happened to dude's dad? Why were Digimon appearing in the real world? Etc. None of that was addressed?
>>23037479First of all, speak like a fucking human being.Second, no. Dad appeared in the last two episodes, and that was about it.
>>23037112The show was almost entirely episodic. Granted, lots of those episodes were pretty fucking good."Gegege no Kitaro" with Digimon as >>23037138put it sounds pretty accurate. If you're enjoying the episodes themselves, keep going because there's some real gems here, if you're mostly interested in an overarching mystery or storyline, then it's probably just going to frustrate you.>>23037479Things are addressed, it's just that Ghost Game doesn't do story arcs except for the final arc (which is far shorter than it should). So when things are addressed, it's either a quick aside that makes it not a big deal or it's done in the final arc, which picks up plot threads from so long ago if you were watching the show for the overarching plot it's just unsatisfying. >What happened to dude's dad?A lab accident sent him to the Digital World and he's just... Exploring and adventuring. That's one they don't drag on too long. He sends recorded updates like the one in the first episode semi-frequently throughout the series. He physically returns for the final arc, there's an explanation of how he ran into Gammamon and stuff like that. >Why were Digimon appearing in the real world? Most of them had their own goals or quite literally wandered in lost. Halfway through the series you start hearing about someone "throwing" or "calling" Digimon into the human world. That's the ruler of the Digital world trying to protect them from an ongoing infection destroying it a main plot point in the final arc. But most of them just wander through gates and I don't really remember if the increase in the number of gates is natural or if it's the aforementioned character's doing. I think some dialogue in the last episode does address how the worlds actually interact with one another but I don't remember it anymore.
>>23037138This is fetish content
>>23037494As far as Digimon discussion is concerned, I'm frozen as the preteen weeb I was when I got into it. Sorry.
>>23037553That's such a weird decision on the writers' part, but I appreciate the rundown.
>>23037565Yes. There is also cannibalism, murder and necrophilia on screen
>>23038413The finale was probably going to be somewhat better, but the guy responsible for series composition was having health problems during the second half of the series. So the episodic stuff carried on having the same quality while the plot-related stuff probably suffered.>>23038544>necrophiliaI still can't believe that episode was fucking real.
