the secret for energy weapons boils down to basically
1. minmaxing the shit out of your build, using whichever generator is the strongest and whichever combination of parts that have the least energy consumption plus the option parts thar syncronize with energy weapons (damage up, gen improvements, halved en consumptionnfrom firing en weapons and so on), if necessary even ditching the blade in order to be as light and energy efficient as possible

I had this idea for a thrid PvP-mode:

It's nice when my friends make lobbies cause then I can usually look at the player group and temporarily unblock any blockheads so I can get in. Couple of them fucked up their privacy settings seemingly, so I can't always do that though.

Depends on the build
Melee is more viable than in gen 1-4, more relevant than in gen 5, and peak DPS output for melee is the most skill-dependent useful thing of all AC games (ACS, stagger, recovery, timing, distance, combo management, opponent reading) that is not having to be relevant on making lucky shots
Meanwhile ratting is more braindead than even in gens 2 or 4

I think this is also the issue with AC6: non-melee win is nowhere as satisfying to pull off as melee. All the people fixated on melee in AC6 are freaks of neurotransmitter release addiction or are too attentive to the finer details - cinematic duel/boss finisher nearly always looks better with melee, second are only cool or stance-needing weapons that aren't used in ratting anyway. I blame the devs for going too hard with realism and not having ranged weapon SFX and VFX exaggerated or at least done as pleasant to experience, like older gens by release order being the pecking order

Both of those are fine options, but I'm thinking about missions designed specifically for co-op. Superbosses and raids that aren't structured in a way that a single player is expected to reasonably handle.

Making alt versions of existing missions that are co-op only would be fun. I wanna breach the Karman Line but against five times the opposition or fight the AC6 equivalent to the Psycho Gundam.

I'd be satisfied with any well-structured co-op mode. AC building heavily favors 1-on-1 PVP stuff, which is fine, but I think any difficult cooperative mode would let a lot of unusual builds shine

A co-op meta could see things like the stun bomb launcher becoming a useful team support tool. Pulse protection could become viable. Jack-of-all-trades builds that can deal with a variety of combat situations wouldn't be outclassed.
