All manga (and by extension anime) has the depth, pathos, and foresight of a notebook full of highschool scribblings, with (occasionally) better art. Once you accept this it becomes easier to process why these stories are the way they are.

It was Kyao. Although in Picaresque Giwaza there is the odd scene at the end after Nei dies where Posaydal lectures her about how "you will only die if you approach men as a woman."

Yes and no

Amandara didn't properly think things through. Scirocco thought he was smarter than he was and people shouldn't have trusted him.

That being said, I still think Amandara was more interesting in hindsight because that was a pretty smart idea he was doing. And he actually won; he just didn't know what the fuck to do after victory and decided to have a vacation. He just allowed too many variables to go unchecked.
