How does a Zaku Machine Gun work in space?
Physical ammunition can work in space cause they contain oxidizers. No scifi magic particles required.

Disregard all these other idiots, the real reason is obvious. The Zaku is a mecha, and a grunt mecha specifically. It works because of GUTS.
