Just watched Ideon after postponing it for so long and it really paid off. It's so well-written - Gije Zaral is maybe a better character than Char, but doesn't look as cool. So I'm in need of more retro anime that deals with deep sci-fi and/or philosophical themes. I should mention that I don't really care for NGE and that I already love Gunbuster and Gundam. Accepting non-mecha recs too.P.S. I know there's a lot of "before you ask /m/ for recs" charts, but they seem to be outdated.

I should also mention that one of the most appealing things about Ideon is how it looks visually, especially when they display the Ide's true power. Very unique.
