Ohtagaki was clearly only planning to make the first part about the end of the one year war and stop there but it quickly grew in popularity and he had to keep making shit up. inb4 someone posts an interview saying uhmmm aktually At least we have the Thunderbolt sector and the intro to post war parts animated. It's a shame the rest never will get that treatment because there are a lot of cool things in the series.

>>23069451Because it's always important to hear another perspective on things. I've heard lots of praise towards Thunderbolt, but I've never dove into any criticisms people laid upon it. Plus, I myself read the manga, and I've got some issues with it as well. I do agree the Taal Volcano arc drags somewhat, not helped by the midway-through style change thanks to Ohtagaki's medical condition on his left hand. I also think that Io felt more fun as a character during the Side 4 arc. His sense of danger, cockiness, and eagerness to slaughter Daryl made me strangely root for him despite him being the bad guy in Thunderbolt. Meanwhile, Daryl only got interesting after the Side 4 arc, yet even then I felt like he switched sides a little too quickly. Or maybe that's just me, I don't know.Plus, I think the South Sea Alliance saga is getting real tiresome to endure at this point. I'm sorry, but Levan Fu should've died at Taal. What do you think, m/en?
