>>23591170Yeah I definitely don't blame her getting annoyed by Fujimi, but I do wish Takahashi didn't really treat them as a joke. Like Fujimi could be a really cool police support type character like Ichijo was and we don't really need Nasuka getting annoyed every moment she breathes. Frankly, considering Baku ends up solving these cases through dreams and his sister's connections, the department just feel incredibly useless. I am glad that they didn't pull a Fuwa and actually had Fujimi and Baku working together off the bat.

>>23591281Still waiting for its plot to pick into high gear with its equivalent of the Ex-Aid Christmas episode.
With that one recent anime being lots of fun, I'm tempted to pick up a Kamen Rider show. Do I just pick up Kuuga? Or try to finish the original? I've only seen bits of the original, Kabuto, and the one with the various techy kingdoms.I think Kuuga's generally the most praised and recommended, while I was impressed with the first few episodes of the original show save for the practical effects as well as the somewhat repetitive monsters.I'd prefer no silly colours or toy gimmicks, but mooks dancing or standing politely in the background as the hero finishes transforming is adorable and permissible. I'd greatly prefer practical effects over CGI, but the silly string in the first show was a bit rough and maybe minimal CGI is fine. Supporting non-rider characters pulling their weight and giving it their all is a major plus, as is a dramatic entry of a second rider.
>>23591291Kuuga is good, but don't expect every other show to be like it. W is the actual best entry-level show if you wanna get a feel of what the franchise is generally like, just bear with the CGI which is present in every Heisei and Reiwa show.Or watch Black if you want a more digestible Showa show, the OG might be too old and long for you to get into it just yet.
>>23591291>no silly colours or toy gimmicks>I'd greatly prefer practical effects over CGI
>>23591291>Supporting non-rider characters pulling their weight and giving it their all is a major plus, as is a dramatic entry of a second riderKuuga has the former, but not the latter (Secondary Riders are a thing in every subsequent show though, but some debut earlier than others). It also has a bit of CGI.
>>23591291>I'd prefer no silly colours or toy gimmicksIf you want to get into this franchise you'll have to accept the fact that it's a childrens' franchise made to sell toys to toddlers, get used to it, and maybe even learn to appreciate it. The only entries that don't have these things are the grimdark reboots for adults, which are generally not very good.
>>23591291>I'd prefer no silly colours or toy gimmicksAway! Away!
>>23591291Given those criteria, you should be good with Heisei Phase 1, at least up to Kabuto. Most shows if you stop before Ex-Aid, really.
>>23591291Stick with the first Heisei era sans Hibiki (Kuuga to Decade.) Though anon you need to keep in mind that Kamen Rider majority exists to sell toys to children and collectors, while also being a very good drama on the side. The toys are the show's beating heart, and every Heisei onward series has some kind of CGI in it. You either have to just get over it or see the appeal.
>>23591295I think I was put off by the asymmetry, but I'll try to give it a fair chance if it's a good entry-level show. I've literally never heard of Kamen Rider Black, thank you. I only know V3 exists, and that Amazon and Kuuga are highly praised. I mean, I enjoyed the original Ultraman show, so I definitely wouldn't mind Showa at all. Kabuto was fine as well, I think I just got busy.>>23591301It's not absolutely necessary for there to be a rider 2, I just think that everyone needs a friend.>>23591308>get used to it, and maybe even learn to appreciate it.The bits I've seen of Gaim (I forgot to mention Gaim somehow) was actually fun. I think I was at the point where the ridiculous dancing or whatever bit started to taper off and things were getting precarious. I'm being partly mean but I probably will genuinely appreciate a lot of the colourful cheery baby shows, but I will go into it grumpy unless I'm promised that it'll be good.>>23591298>>23591310It is way too silly!!! The shows should be trying to market toys for grown-ups like me instead.>sentai has 5-6 very blatant children's show colours and a big combining robot but it's fineWait, why the fuck do I not mind sentai as much? This isn't fair to Kamen Rider. Am I just expecting something more serious because he's all alone?
Out of all the possible Gotchard spinoffs that could revive the Dark Sisters, the Rinne focused one is such a copout
>>23591317>>23591324If he doesn't like toy gimmicks, why would you even entertain his post? You can only stomach like 3 shows with that criteria
Toku collectors are TRANS!??!?!?
Also, person question but do you guys buy the toys? How are they?>>23591317Ok so that's around the Decade/W mark. Except W was recommended, Gaim was alright, and Fourze was highly recommended (it was cheering people up after a miserable earthquake?). But yeah, I'm looking at Ex-Aid and everything after, and I'm getting a bit worried. Geatz and Zeztz still look like they kill people. Is Zeztz any good so far?>>23591324Alright, I'll try to see the appeal. I was intensely hesitant on Gaim's absurdly silly and overly colourful gimmick, but it turned out that the different fruit movesets were fun and appreciable.>>23591328I'm willing to learn and accept the toyposting, I will just be initially impatient with it. I was just really impressed with the original show's start, where a few episodes in they immediately presented a genuine problem for his transformation belt, and it didn't feel like it was telling me to buy his (very) cool belt or anything.
>>23591291Being toyetic with over the top colors are what gives /m/ stuff their own identity, personality, spirit and courage.
>>23591333I've bought a couple figures but no drivers or anything. The drivers always win that year's toy awards in Japan though. Also I'd say that a vast majority of the seasons are able to write the toys into the world in a very believable way that doesn't just feel like "buy the new toy." Like it's exciting when the hero gets a new power up.
>>23591291Go back, this franchise isn't for you
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sd6iyhcvHSc
>>23591325W's asymmetrical design is the point and it's used for one of the best explored set of form changes in the franchise. I think that's part of why W is recommended as a great starter series, it's a strong series all-around and importantly it does very well to highlight something that makes Kamen Rider unique in the focus on form changing. Also if you don't like them being so explicitly toyetic I'd say W is less noticeable since the jingles are short. The jingles themselves you can really get behind if you just think of them in a different way. They aren't outside the context of Japanese media, they just are a different method of doing something. Like in a Shounen series, where a character might announce their super form and shout their attacks? Modern toku has the device do that, for the most part.Kamen Rider is a slightly older target demographic than Sentai so they do tend to be a little more serious and have some slightly more complex themes.
>>23591334GaoGaiGar is so fucking cool
>>23591284>its equivalent of the Ex-Aid Christmas episode.Who would get Kiriya'd and Jin'd if or when it ends up happening?
>>23591347Nasuka
>>23591333I would skip Decade personally. It has a few decent episodes like the Black/RX two-parter but it's mostly multiverse bullshit where the worlds he visits are nothing like the season they're based on because they were never gonna get most of the actors back so they just decided to get weird with the "alternate" Earths. W/OOO/Fourze are all quite good though. Geats has nice aesthetics, (it's the only Reiwa show I feel the suits are closer to Showa/ early Heisei and not too overdesigned) but the plot is kind of a mix of Ryuki and Kabuto again but worse. I couldn't tell you about Zeztz yet, I prefer to wait til a season is over then catch up.
Are we getting a DX Code Zeroider or are we just not getting a figure-compatible bike toy?
>>23591325>I probably will genuinely appreciate a lot of the colourful cheery baby showsBear in mind that all Rider shows have at least a bit of edge in them, courtesy of Japan not babying its children nearly as much as America does. Even Gotchard, which is considered by many to be the most "infantile" Rider show so far, has moments like a character being forced to watch his parents get killed in front of him (twice), a villain forcing a bunch of people to kill each other just to torture his student, and permanent major character deaths, among other things.
>>23591361>a character being forced to watch his parents get killed in front of him (twice)More like at least twice. It's implied Glion has the Angel Malgam continue their deaths over and over even after the scene cuts away
>>23591334Ok that's fair, I don't know why I'm expecting toylessness for Kamen Rider.>>23591337The drivers are that good? And alright, that's fair. The little cars as well as the fruits were acceptable and exciting.>>23591338I'll learn to like it, I'm sure.>>23591342Alright, I'll keep W in mind as a good intro to Kamen Rider, especially the ones nowadays. And I wouldn't have even have thought that W had any toys apart from different-coloured halves of guys to fit together. And I'll keep that in mind for the jingles as well, although it's still a bit funny to hear them overlapping with one another.>>23591350I thought Decade was a big anniversary thing that was homaging the older shows? I would have thought that after watching the prior shows, that Decade would be a treat. And alright, I might pick up a showa show and start with W and keep OOO, Fourze, and Ryuki in mind.>>23591361I mean, Japan's been doing that since the 60s and possibly before. I do appreciate that they don't really beat around the bush with real and permanent consequences and sometimes miserable and pointless tragedies.
>>23591369Nah, watch Decade it's good enough.
>>23591369Decade *is* an anniversary season, but that really only manifests in shallowly bringing back the suits and powers, the things Toei has easy access to. Now granted, the character of Decade/Tsukasa is a lot of fun and the crossover movies do allow him to interact with the REAL riders instead of bastardized variants. The show itself is just largely a disappointment and honestly the ways the choices they made in depicting the "AR Worlds" are just very bizarre. Also the season was cut short and the finale movie doesn't satisfyingly resolve much about the season's own plot and characters. (Except, again, for when he visits KR Black and Black RX because they actually did just get the actor back and play it straight for once.)
>>23591346>GaoGaiGar/m/e/m/e question: what are the Rider equivalents of Genesic GaoGaiGar and the Goldion Crusher?
>>23591372I think I vaguely recall hearing about an old old villain being glad to see his Rider again, but this could have been literally any crossover movie. Getting to see your past favourite riders sounds a treat enough>>23591371Hm..
>>23591348But the death is supposed to be a gut punch, not a cause for applause.
>>23591378If you're going to watch the crossover movies, the three riders I'd suggest you need to know the most about are Ichigo, Black, and Faiz because they're the ones that come back the most.
I wonder if the Nip kids get annoyed at the amount of native English that comes out of Zero's mouth. Even with subtitles, I imagine it'd be hard to catch
>>23591381It has to be OG Rider One, and I get W, but Faiz seems a bit unusual, with its big-ol' eyes.
>>23591385Faiz's helmet takes some getting used to, yeah, but from the neck down it's one of my favorite suits. It's also a very drama-heavy season, it's more the kind of thing you get into for the characters.
The photoshoot of Nene with Nashiko and Hinami got an official digital release https://bisweb.jp/fashion/168400
>>23591386I get that, the later Rider in the trenchcoat looked cool as well. And that's fine, I'm here for the story. What about fighting choreography though, are any notably great, or do they consistently deliver? I don't think I've felt any shows I saw were weak in that regard.
https://twitter.com/GaidenKarun/status/1982116513051238835/Episode 5 preview.
>>23591394I mean...the martial arts sequences in Rider don't get particularly fancy until the 2010s. Before that it's a lot of very serviceable but stock punching and kicking before whipping out the finishing moves.People often say Wizard has the best fight scenes, but is also one of the lamest shows for plot and characters so it's a real monkey's paw.
>>23591369NTA but Decade is best watched after you've gone through the 9 previous Heisei shows. Yeah, it involves AUs, but those AUs are reinterpretations of the shows (and their movies in some cases) and feature references and nice little details you might miss if you aren't familiar with the original shows.Similarly, Zi-O is best watched after having gone through all the other Heisei shows, it doesn't involve AUs but for that very same reason you'll end up getting spoiled on certain important developments from the previous shows.
https://twitter.com/Kamenrider_FS/status/1982235730509221963The Double Gavv moment.
>>23591404>NTA but Decade is best watched after you've gone through the 9 previous Heisei showsAt least the 9 previous Heisei entries, it also features references to Showa series like the OG, X, Amazon, Stronger, Black and Black RX.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtQneznozqg
>>23591399Oh. I mean, I already thought things were pretty neat, but I guess it's because I can't do any of that shit.>a trade-off for the best fights and the worst story and charactersI don't know if combat can carry that, man.>>23591404>>23591407And yeah, I thought it'd be the most rewarding after being well-acquainted with all the shows it was directly referencing. It's such a treat seeing or revisiting something and noticing that they added something like, unironically "that tiny item or endearing monster from episode 41 that only I liked"And I have no idea what's going on with Zi-O, but it looks like it references Decade among other things. So I'll make a note of not picking it up randomly.>>23591407>I'm rewarded for watching Showa as wellTempted to finish one Showa and one Heisei show (Black and W, Amazon as well because it's short?) and then just go by production order, unless the original series is going to kill me. I'm fine with episodic shows, but I swear it had something like snakeman in episode 3 and then snakemummy or batsnake man in episode 7.
>>23591394>What about fighting choreography though, are any notably great, or do they consistently deliver? The action in Heisei and Showa was for the most part okay, Showa had the sloppiest action but it also featured some extremely dangerous stunts that wouldn't be possible today due to modern safety regulations. Out of the Heisei shows, the ones that stand out for their consistently great action scenes are Agito, Kabuto, Kiva, Fourze and Wizard.Reiwa in general was a step up in terms of the choreography and overall action directing, it got brand new action directors that began storyboarding all the action scenes in a much more meticulous way, whereas in the past they just winged it on set when it came to certain parts. All Reiwa shows have generally great action, though Gotchard was seen as a bit of a step down compared to the others since it had one of the older action directors and it kinda shows, but it still had plenty of good action scenes. Geats and Gavv have an action director who's known for his over the top anime-esque action sequences (though he also has some scenes that make great use of props and the overall environment similar to Jackie Chan's flicks) while Zero-One, Revice, Saber and Zeztz have a director whose fights are a little more subdued and put more focus on the suit actors' moves.
>>23591419>And I have no idea what's going on with Zi-OZi-O is the last show of the Heisei era and the one that celebrates its 20th anniversary, it's an anniversary show in the same vein as Decade except it involves time travel instead of alternate universes. It has its own ongoing story but the majority of its arcs are tied to and sometimes even centered around one of the 19 previous Heisei shows, and they feature at least one returning character from each show as well.
>>23591432Also, Decade himself is recurring enough to qualify as one of Zi-O's supporting cast.

>>23591485Blade is good. There are three riders in Heisei that uses cards, Ryuki, Blade, and Decade. One in Reiwa, Gotchard.

>>23591493>used the same mechanism like zeztz>not called kamen rider?????
>>23591506Revice is indeed not the best one to start with, and every modern show has toys that're inserted into the belt transforming device somehow.
>>23591508Maybe they're taking the name to be literal since I doubt Nox will have a bike.
>>23591485I started with Blade, and I think it's a great starting point if you can stick with it.Pretty much every Heisei series starting with Ryuki has a gimmick, whether it's cards, toy cars, or usb sticks. They gotta sell toys somehow. Even the shows that use cards all use different cards in a different way, so Blade is still completely standalone. As long as you know how a standard deck of playing cards works, you know enough to watch Blade.
>>23591493Clever. I almost fell for it that time.>>23591506I think it'd be easier to name when the toy gimmick isn't used in the show. It's not very often, is what I'm saying.>>23591508Do not question Bandai's classification system.More seriously, it seems like Nox is only making a skewed approximation of Zeztz's powers/abilities. They haven't even officially used the term "Kamen Rider" in-series, so we won't know what the actual distinction will be until they release some notes.

Ho watch Kiva now
>>23591936Man, I forgot how aggressive Kiva's fighting style was.
>>23591943What's funny is that they brought in Decade to save the show but it only made it worse.
>>23591943I just finished this shit this morning. I don't understand the story. I hate the ending. It's better than Decade but that isn't an accomplishment. Time travel is so hard to get right but so easy to get wrong and they got it so wrong. I don't even think they knew what they wanted to do with the show. The alternate history plots of the first half versus the sequel plots of the second is so jarring.
>>23591960What's wrong with the ending?
>>23591974NTA but a show ending with a literal reset of the timeline back to the start of the series is just inherently bad, nobody likes "And it was all a dream"
>>23591976Forgot to add; the show just prior to it ended with a world reset but atleast there were consequences, until the fuck ass v-cinemas. There's 0 punishment for Sougo resetting the world. Hell even now in the post show content, even with his memory wiped he still gets to be GrandZi-O despite "unmerging" the world.
>>23591976It wasn't a dream, Sougo altered the timeline to ensure the events that took place before could'net be repeated. The important part that once becoming Oma-Zio, Sougo still had the humanity to give up on his kingdom and relinquish his power.
>>23591960The erased history plots from the first half were an idea from the main director (Ryuta Tasaki), not the writers, and it's clear the writers didn't know what to do with it.There was supposed to be an explanation for changing from the erasure plots to team up plots in the Quiz arc, but the director of that arc (Satoshi Morota) removed the scene that was supposed to explain things because he considered it pointless exposition that dragged the pacing down.Overall though, just like Decade, it was a Shirakura crossover series, and Shirakura intrinsically believes crossovers don't make sense, so story consistency is never a priority when he's the main producer of crossovers.
>>23591865Kids were scared of the likes of Rider #1 because they looked like kaijin. Kids would be scared of Zeztz because he looks like a westoid faggot gimp suit so I guess they figure there's a child molester wearing it. They wouldn't have had a problem if it were Gavv or Gotchard etc.
VampiReiyo!
>>23592079Not sure how kids exactly are reacting in general but if they are finding Zeztz to look frightening I think it would be a combination of the facial structure and darker colors. Most Riders have more rounded eyes so that even if they're meant to look ready to fight they still can come across as soft and friendly. Of the ones who do have more distinct sharp eyes they have a design that uses more bright colors so they still clearly give off that hero look. Zeztz has a design that you could plausibly give a Dark Rider.
>>23592094Zeztz’s face looks like it was meant to appeal to Americans. It has that “American Kirby is Hardcore” feel.
>>23591941Heaviest Main Rider suit too
>>23592126Decade's suit was heavier, and that statement is definitely out of date now.
>>23592126Kiva actually wasn't even the heaviest of phase 1 Heisei, the Decade suit for instance was heavier. The main issue was how poorly balanced it was and probably also how Takaiwa had to be lurching over for the choreography.I think it also might have had serious issues due to the chest piece being solid which made it less flexible.
>>23592110It's been outright confirmed the design is based on Western superheroes.
>>23592153>>23592110It's not his eyes I have trouble getting used to, it's the weird puffy muscley look, he almost looks squishy
>>23592156If you squint, Zeztz really resembles those discount "toku" skins they've sometimes thrown into capeshit games
>>23592153Oh yeah, I forgot that detail. That’s also why the suit looks pretty muscular.

>>23592161Now that you mention it it does kinda have that vibe, especially after seeing >>23592205Not that I mind personally since Spidey is one of the only Western capes I actually like.
>>23592228It always amazes me how the directly "toku-inspired" suits in these games always look less toku than the regular suits.
>>23592238It really makes you think in what kind of shows did these people even watch (probably none, they just go on pure vines alone)
>>23592238Yeah they do kinda have that 'How to Draw Anime' look where they're trying to mimic it without really understanding the style. The one I posted looks more like an anime suit than it does toku too.
>>23592248Vibes, I meant vibes.but no seriously, did they all think that toku starts and ends with Ultraman, and only ultraman?
>>23592250They also might reference Zyuranger specifically.
>>23592250>>23592248What do you think? Power Rangers obviously.
>>23592228>>23592238>toku inspired>no fucking transformation devices
>>23592258Always one of the biggest issues with western "toku" designs
>>23592228>>23592238For me, it's Aaron Aikman.>>23592258>>23592259I mean, how would you want to without it just being a rip off to Kamen Rider, let alone you know full well we won't see a rider-inspired pose for Spiderman that's not the Toei original.
>>23592263It would fit with Spider-Man's whole deal if he had a wrist-mounted driver
>>23592263my nigga already homaged Super-1
>>23592249It's easy to tell when there's a lack of understanding but I do have to wonder what specifically a Western designer would implement to make something look more toku-inspired. For some of the more subtle stuff I've noticed>more independent armor piecesI think that the main reason to do this is to cover for different body shapes between the face and suit actor? Specifically having something covering the chest and shoulders.>minimal skintight featuresWestern heroes' have spandex that emphasizes the physique since they were inspired by carnival strong men but I feel like toku they find that for immersion that trying to display the suit actor's musculature would be more of a hindrance. Also because doing stunt work in skintight latex is way more inconvenient.>expressive helmetI think toku helmets carry on a heavy influence from Noh masks, in that they often have one face but are meant to portray multiple expressions just by angling it. Western cape heroes usually show their faces or are drawn with eyes that change shape to display expression which usually aren't something toku series have the luxury of.>a design motif that can plausibly look shared across multiple charactersSomething like Ultraman's chest crystals or Rider's teardrops, or like the Sentai eye shapes which can be repeated on different entries but usually are different for each team member within a single entry. Since toku swaps out their cast they tend to have visual language that is shared across multiple heroes. Western heroes don't usually have to do this, not even something like Green Lantern where it would be appropriate, so I think it's just completely out of the artists' thought process.
>>23592264guess what? he did
>>23592263>>23592266Looks more like a reference to Spider-Armor MK I
>>23592271That's what I what implying i.e. Toei Spider-Man's changer.
>>23592263
>>23592268>expressive helmetBesides Iron Man and Dr Fate I can't even think of a single American capeshit who even wears a full helmet, despite the fact it would be sensible to. I think these two worlds just can't cross adequately, at least not to a pre-existing or legacy hero.
>>23592283Can't be real, unless Toei started using AI.
>>23592283Juuga-san...
>>23592276That's sort of a point I'm making. Oftentimes a toku-inspired design will throw on a helmet which doesn't necessarily feel very toku and usually it's because the general shapes are made for action shots but don't really have the look like they could do performance of lower-tension scenes.Apparently there was a recent Batman toku-inspired book and it showcases what I'm saying. They gave the suit a helmet but it looks extremely aggressive, the eyes are very tiny and the concept art hasn't angled the helmet to show how it might be used to look calm, confident, determined, sad, etc.To compare to a suit like Gavv's where very slight differences in the way the actor holds his head can make the eyes look like different expressions, because the eyes are large and given a default expression that is more neutral. It isn't something every helmet in toku does but I do think it's something that makes a design feel more Japanese, and it's derived from traditional Japanese theater.
>>23592283>Written by Yuya Takahashi and directed by Koichi Sakamoto
>>23592294I think that design is quite hideous but I'm going to assume the helmet is supposed to look perpetually scary / intimidating because Batman has to be scary at all times, they didn't care about a neutral helmet to read emotions off of
>>23592228>>23592294I feel like capeshit "Toku" suits feel muddled because they're often trying to emulate Rider, Sentai and Ultraman all at once instead of just sticking to a single reference.
>>23592294Toku Batman is just Batman Beyond.
>>23592268>>23592294Excellent assessment. To be fair it makes sense, since so many native toku designs draw from Japanese culture/mythology as much as Western draws from European and the like. It's still sad to see so many Western designers stopping at copying Rider and Sentai (rarely even Ultra and Metal Heroes) and not digging deeper the way they would with a costume based on modern fashion or the like.
>>23592305That's why Stronger is the best
>>23592305So you think Ghost and Drive have the same design language?
>>23592275I saw so much hype around Demons before I watched Revice and it turns out he's a pathetic jobber from his first appearance, """dies""" a couple episodes later, and then the suit gets passed around like a cheap whore no one wants to stay with for more than a night until it finally gets thrown out. What a pathetic rider/character/show. If he wasn't a red and blue spider rider no one would care.
>>23592315People loved Hiromi because of how he started. Kinoshita hated that people loved him and purposefully ruined the character.
>>23592314No, but we can all pinpoint the general characteristics of a Rider design (big compound eyes, antennae, forehead jewel, crusher mouth, belt, slightly more armor than the standard Ranger or Ultra) even if not all Rider suits have all the hallmarks present in Ichigou's suit.
>>23592276Bloodsport is cool. And I appreciate that he wore the helmet quite a bit. Peacemaker pretty much ditch his helmet 90% of the time in second season.
>>23592314NTA but yeah they do. The majority of Riders do. Prominently armored chest that emulate musculature (pecs, abs, or both), "bare" thighs, large eye-approximations sitting on an enclosed helmet and belts that lead the eye towards the dead center (usually via a circular, rotating point). They're all the same LANGUAGE, same as how all of these sentences in this post, and in your post, are the same language but are all composed differently following the rules of the language. When the language is muddled, you end up with designs like Zeztz which IS reminiscent of an Ultraman because its design language leans in that direction.
>>23592315>>23592320What's the point in being a schizo over a show that people dislike?
>>23592315>ITSV Miles AND Peni>"Supaidaman"I hate normalfags so fuckin much. The interest on the Spider-Man Toku rip-off recently got acknowledged in the comics, he gets recruited to fight an army of Venoms and then the non-binary canonical gay Spider-Man makes a new suit for him, that is apparently "tokusatsu inspired" but be honest guys, removing the obvious Kamen Rider scarf would you actually think of Tokusatsu if you looked at that suit?
>>23592315>it turns out he's a pathetic jobber from his first appearanceHe won multiple fights after that.>the suit gets passed around like a cheap whoreIs Revice your first rider? >If he wasn't a red and blue spider rider no one would care.Nobody gives a fuck about the spider part. Demons was popular because the belt is fun, Hiromi and Kaiba
>>23592329Has a wrist device, better then most.
>>23592328Because he secretly loves the show and hopes by being an autistic fag about hating it people will have a contrarian overreaction and join him in liking it.
>>23592334That's from the original design
>>23592311post the source you coomer faggot
>>23592329What on earth is going on in comics these days? That costume if anything looks like something from 70's comics if Spidey teamed up with the Harlem Globe Trotters or something

>>23592338So it's a reverent design that gets it.

>>23592315People initially liked Hiromi because he was a straight forward hero of justice and a wholesome underdog that risked his life to save others on top of havinh the coolest suit and belt in the show, people weren't aware of how much he would get wanted and shat on later on.Outside factors also played a part into why so many people were hyped about him. After Demons' debut, Hiromi's actor recalled how he has attended the Ishinomori Manga Museum's grand opening as a child and got to shake Handa with Hiroshi Fukuoka himself, which inspired him to pursue a career in acting and try to land a role in Kamen Rider multiple times. Around that time, Kinoshita also revealed that Hiromi was initially intended to die in the first episode, but he changed his mind and decided to make him Demon when he witnesses the actor's performance at the auditions. So it kinda looked like he was "destined" to become a Kamen Rider.https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/20088536/#20090377https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/20233518/#20233528https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/20233518/#20234344https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/21082131/#21082668https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/20443576/#20444338https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/20492921/#20494893https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/20234665/#20234753

It's really nice that they're just putting the new episodes, already subtitled, on youtube.I'd only watched W before, but the ease of access has me tuning in for fresh Zeztz every week. Also VISIONS is really fucking good as an opening, "give me the SHOCK TO THE HEART" never fails to get me hyped. No thesis or point here, just wanted to share my feelings.Unrelated request: I showed my young nephew some clips of Showa-era rider and he agrees that it is "sick" and showed a lot of enthusiasm to see more.I have a complicated question regarding this. He's definitely mature enough to handle the darker themes presented, but immature enough to not be self-conscious about liking the dumb cheesy action scenes (rest assured, this is not an insult.) I don't want to deprive him of that joy, but the language barrier is a problem, seeing as he's not quite a good enough reader to keep up with subtitles yet.I have two solutions in mind:>the HK dub of Wizard>find the most action-y series and verbally provide context/one-man-live-dub for what's going on in the plotWhich path would you recommend?
>>23591775Random film production worker here (no affiliation with KR tho, if only);More than likely, it's because the fall still had enough force to risk the Capsem popping out as he hit the floor. Had other rider toys behave similarly in my own playing around previously. Alternatively, could be that they didn't want to risk damaging the internals for similar reasons. Dunno if they have a limited number of those that Bandai's willing to hand off as props or not, but just knowing how things get about loaned props here would make me assume they'd be even more tight assed about it.Safer/easier to deal with if it's just the prop driver, even if it does risk looking a bit worse.Don't have this driver yet because poor + bills + americuck, but given the placement in the center, I don't imagine that it's locked in SUPER securely. Someone else may be able to better test.
