>>23715301I'd say it's because the Espirim forms are his most broken forms that aren't massive budget destroyers like Paradigm. Honestly I'm surprised they didn't take those out of the picture instead to give them an excuse to save money.

>>23715301because they are broken as fuck.Barrier is an indestructible shield of infinite range. it could definitely have stopped the meteor strike had Nox not interfered.Recovery can restore anything and anyone from any kind of disease, it can be able to save someone in a critical moment, which would make sense for Nox to steal it at some point again and let someone die in front of Baku.

[Interview] Kazuya Kamihoriuchi and Yuya Takahashi's evaluation of Ryutaro Imai>https://tieba.baidu.com/p/10408776822Q: In the opinion of director Kamihoriuchi, what impression does Ryutaro Imai, who plays Baku, give you?>Kamihoriuchi: Although Imai-kun is prone to nervousness and tends to tense his shoulders, he's an incredibly hardworking and good kid. What I find particularly impressive is his ability to interpret scripts. I feel he has his own unique way of understanding scripts, and among the lead actors I've worked with, he's reached this stage quite early. I'm a rather picky person when it comes to acting, and precisely because I'm still developing myself, I often need to spend time working with actors to reach a satisfactory level. With each episode of filming, Imai-kun's discrepancies in this process decreased, and I was able to say "Oh, if you want to act like this, then give it a try" relationship with him quite early on. Rather than saying his acting is polished, it's more accurate to say that his way of thinking about the character Baku and the work "Zeztz" has reached a depth similar to that of the core creators like Yanaka-san and Yuya-san.Q: He must have deeply understood the character of Baku before he started filming.>Kamihoriuchi: Rather than saying "understand," perhaps "strive to understand" is the most accurate description. When an actor performs with their own thoughts, even if their intentions differ slightly from the director's, you can still sense, "Oh, so that's what he was thinking, that's why he acted that way." Regarding Imai-kun, I didn't feel at all that he was acting without thinking; his approach to roles and works is truly wonderful.(1/2)
>>23715539Q: It is said that the Kamen Rider series sometimes reflects the actor's personality into the character. After watching Imai's performance, did Takahashi-san give any feedback or make any adjustments to the character of Baku?>Takahashi: I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but the character of Baku felt very complete from the beginning, and he was portrayed very much in line with my imagination. Therefore, there was no situation where the character setting had to be adjusted because he played the role this way, and I felt that the character of Baku could be portrayed consistently.Q: It can be said that they trusted Imai-san and entrusted Baku to him with peace of mind.>Takahashi: Yes. He perfectly portrayed the handsome protagonist (in dream world). Conversely, in reality, I could feel Baku's endearing side more than I expected, or rather, his flaws as a human being. Watching his performance, I was also affected, and I felt that perhaps it wouldn't hurt to let Baku have more flaws.(2/2)

Why arent kamen rider shows funny like this anymore
>>23715359>>23715507She's 16...
>>23715409Baku used Impact in the waking world once to stop Truck kun from isekai-ing someone. Zeztz's powers work in the waking world too, and powers like Recovery and Barrier are way too OP and would solve a lot of issues early, hence why NOX! tries to cockblock Baku from using them as much as possible..
>>23715577I imagine seeing someone open a can of beer and drink it on a show aimed at kids didn't go well and lots of parents started complaining, they should have been told to picrel
>>23715376>Barrier is an indestructible shieldNox destroyed it last episode.

>>23715611And they can do it again. There's also the possibility that if he doesn't, someone else will fill that role, a replacement always at the ready in case of "failure"
>>23715644>There's also the possibility that if he doesn't, someone else will fill that roleHappened like 3 times already.
Happy Birthday Renge!
>>23715644>There's also the possibility that if he doesn't, someone else will fill that role, a replacement always at the ready in case of "failure"That's also part of DvZ/ZvD's plot.
>>23715650The premise is inherently repetitive
>>23715660Cool
How the hell are they Going to redeem hi after everything he has done?
>>23715690They're clearly trying to turn him into a reluctant villain. There's that whole bit about LA SIGNORA reading his mind and saying he doesn't want to take orders from her anymore, which implies he's only working for ХAHЫM to further his own goals.
>>23715690By making him a joke like Gai
>>23715577We haven't gotten a writer who's truly good at comedy since Fourze. It's weird because I feel the head writer of Ghost/Saber is pretty good at comedy outside of Kamen Rider but ultimately he didn't write much of the show and when he did his focus would be the drama.
>>23715708Build and Gavv had some pretty great comedy, though it was uncommon in both of the seasons.Maybe we are due for a more lighthearted comedic season. Even if you could describe Gotchard as such they didn't really have comedy in it.
>>23715662>Post-show interviews had MinatoP admit he was too cautious about the handling of production since it was his first time. He wanted to play it safe but realized playing it safe meant clashes of ideas with his writing team. You can see he's better in letting Uchida write what he wants with the recent Girls Remix series, the fact alone he managed to greenlit creating an entire new Rider helmed by Fujioka's daughter when in the past all of the bigger ups would've shot down that idea for nepotism showed he's more willing to take risks now.Do we see this in Zeztz?
>>23715690I'm not gonna say Takahashi is a bad writer or anything considering his works have been successes, but it's pretty consistent in his Rider shows that he's genuinely bad at writing morally grey characters and redemptions. Most of his characters that start off antagonistic will legitimately do evil things or cause a lot of harm to innocent no matter the intent and simply just redeem themselves by saying "alright I'm done, sorry guys". The only one that's had a proper redemption I would say would be Parad who Emu made experience death to make him realize the severity of it. With Nox, it's clear he's not a villain with good intentions at heart and wants to protect the agents from CODE. But he's written so awfully and everything Nox does doesn't help anyone. He lets Nightmares cause damage and harm for no reason and he claims to want to protect agents from CODE but will fight them or put the in danger for the sake of "making them realize the darkness of CODE". Even if CODE may be bad, that doesn't make him better for doing the same fucking thing by being vague and actively harming them and innocents. He's legitimately doing the same fucking thing as the organization he hates. I've even seen jap fans comment week after week that no one knows what this guy is doing. There wasn't even a point for him to go from rival to Kamen Rider, since he's still antagonist. Takahashi's way of portraying antagonists are just so frustrating.
>>23715708>>23715716Saber had some pretty good comedy even when Fukuda wasn't writing.
>>23715690Takahackshit will find a way
>>23715690>>23715697>>23715746Nox straight-up tried to wipe out all of humanity. Total biosphere death with that meteorite. Unless he was being outright mind-controlled, literally nothing can justify this. The redemption is going to fucking suck.
>>23715716>Even if you could describe Gotchard as such they didn't really have comedy in it.Gotchard had plenty of comedy in it.
>>23715762Takahashi has literally never done a good redemption arc that didn't just piss everyone off because the characters he "redeems" are always irredeemable assholes.
>>23715758Case in point, I feel like Takahashi has no idea how to show immoral actions and their consequences. Like he just makes them do extreme shit and then just completely forget about it. No other shows really do this.
>>23715746>"alright I'm done, sorry guys"This legitimately sums up the redemption arcs of Genm, Para-Dx, Horobi, Jin, Thouser, Tycoon, Na-Go, Buffa, Glare, Gazer, and Nadge-Sparrow. Hell, Outsiders even tries to make Ark-Zero a hero. At least Parad had a decent arc with Emu beating the shit out of him until he has his epiphany. Takahashi needs to just keep his villains as villains.
>>23715792>>23715746With Genm it kind of works because he's being held hostage by Poppy, his personality changed slightly due to becoming a Bugster and the show stresses up to the very end that he still isn't free nor going to be let free for his crime, most of my issues with Kuroto come from the post-series stuff which undoes most of this. But for everyone else, specially Buffa, their redemption suck really hard.
>>23715690Hate the sin, not the sinner
>>23715746And by now he really needs CODE to be doing some really fucking evil shit to come off as remotely reasonable with his actions.
>>23715690He will get a new form and everyone will forgive him. Such is the KR way.
>>23715690I thought that the reason he was so willing to let the meteor strike happen and be extremely vague with Baku was because he was fully on board with The Lady's plan which is seemingly to create a world where dreams and reality intersect which would undo the damage to the victims. But these past few episodes make it clear that he isn't really on The Lady's side either and mostly following his own agenda so I don't get what the fuck is up with him? Kami said that this second quarter will recontextualize Nox's actions in the first quarter but I'm afraid Takahashi will just pull a Buffa again.
>>23715792To be fair Takahashi didn't want Keiwa to turn out the way he did and originally wanted to make him far more sympathetic, him suddenly going retarded blaming Ace's mom for no reason and allowing himself to be manipulated by clearly evil people were Takebe's idea because she was afraid that he was too sympathetic. That said everyone in the cast bullying Keiwa for no reason would have still remained a thing since that was indeed Takahashi's idea and seemingly he had no intent of letting up.
>>23715800I think that with Buffa that there's the skeleton of showing his core motivations being sufficiently heroic pretty early on and making a lot of his villain arc be things that were to some degree out of his own hands but in the delivery he fully committed to doing evil shit.Kinda similar to how Nox is proceeding, given his backstory you could see why he'd be able to end up turning sides but within his current actions they're not giving him enough solid heroic moments. And getting a focus episode showing them dealing with their evil acts is really important, but a lot of Takahashi's characters have their redemption and the writing just moves on.
>>23715827The big plot twist will be that the agents are actually Nightmares that became real boys and girls
>>23715831>To be fair Takahashi didn't want Keiwa to turn out the way he did and originally wanted to make him far more sympatheticHe also wanted to turn him evil sooner and make him the final boss.
>>23715831Takahashi still wrote all of that though, that wasn't on Takaebe that was still on Takahashi for handling it poorly. Like you also mentioned all the Keiwa bullying and making him a complete joke was all Takahashi's writing too.
>>23715820He already got a new form. As if the whole Nox Knight not being a Rider despite having every single aspect of a Rider down to the same belt wasn't retarded enough, Nox doesn't even have a change or roles when he becomes a Kamen Rider and the title means fucking nothing in this show. Not only that, but we only got Nox Knight for like a month just for him to immediately transition to Kamen Rider Nox. It's all so fucking pointless.
>>23715848You know what he meant by new form, come on.
>>23715837>but within his current actions they're not giving him enough solid heroic moments.Yeah you get glimpses of him being an ally, like when Nox keeps mentioning he had no issues with the Agents or taking out the Nightmare in the episode before. But then in this episode, he's like "just enjoy the game" in a death game and actively attacking Baku. To make it worse, he just justified his actions saying "CODE bad" and some cryptic shit instead of explaining what the fuck he's doing. Like maybe Baku would understand and turn against CODE too if he would explain what he's doing? He claims he's worried about the agents and wants to protect them, but this episode clearly shows that he just wants them to fend for themselves. It's so fucking stupid.
>>23715855Yes, a fucking upgrade I get it anon, his only upgrade is coming in June. But for most shows, that "new form" is the rival becoming their Rider forms which Nox already did and it changed nothing.
at least we're not delusional enough to claim another IP as /ssg/ did lol
>>23715862Yeah but his new form will make everyone go "Uwa sugei, I forgive you now"
>>23715902What? Are you talking about Gavan Infinity? That shit was Sentai coded from the start. Even the suits have the same design elements as the Gozyuger suits.
I don't care about villains rn but if yanaka loosely wanted a spy series like james bond or ethan hunt, then where are the tech support or some mechanics? Why not make a complete supportive cast like drive? Ffs even the police in this show were kinds useless, just why??
Honest thoughts on this series?
>>23715995Flamenco out of ten.
>final form will be baku helped by zero the bikeThere, i solved the "evil" zero shit. There's no way this character would be outright evil, the guy is basically Krim Steinbelt in reiwa.
>>23715995It's cool. Great strange hotblooded atmosphere with great music.Basically Samurai Flamenco if it wasn't as surreal and actually was able to use a real hero property, plus replacing the MC with a middle aged Showa KR fan.
>>23715995Pretty great so far, it's more of an Air Master spiritual successor than a Kamen Rider parody but the character are likeable, most of the jokes land and the author and staff are clearly Kamen Rider fans. I also like how the show weaponizes autism and schizophrenia, reminds me of Nejimaki Kagyu in a way.
>>23715541>perhaps it wouldn't hurt to let Baku have more flawsOh no
>>23715541Translation: time to bully Baku for being a good person
>>23715995Too much Tacklewank. But at least they removed the author's blatant hatred towards Heisei.
>>23715995Go discuss this garbage somewhere else
>>23715541>Watching his performance, I was also affected, and I felt that perhaps it wouldn't hurt to let Baku have more flaws.Even he knows he made Baku too boring.
>>23716045Tojima Rider is a Kamen Rider show. It even has Kamen Rider in its full title.
>>23715414based
>>23715541>I felt that perhaps it wouldn't hurt to let Baku have more flaws. You mean the guy that can only fight in dreams, has bad luck that can kill him if he tries to help people, had his boss get killed right before he told him CORE's secrets, and has and will have every Rider and Lords trying to kill him needs more flaws? I'm so sick of Takahashi man.
>>23715541Translation: Baku will have his Bujin Keiwa moment, either with Dark Zeztz or Catastrom form, or with the Nem capsem final form.
>>23715995It just comes across as purposeless action scenes not leading up to anything and the Rider gimmick had potential but is so severely underused.Probably one of the least appealing parts is that the characters have a rather shallow fondness for Rider despite the concept being them supposedly shaping their lives around it. Like it's difficult to say what they even admire about Rider beyond "Riders are strong."The action direction reminds me of Jojo adaptations with how it's primarily dialogue on static frames which works for Jojo since it's a cerebral battle shonen but doesn't really work if there's no power system.
>>23716076More than likely especially with Catastrom and with a form name like that. The Lady also thinks Baku is gonna "break" from learning more about CODE so I assume that's what this whole thing is leading up to and Orderem being the form where he snaps back and takes back control. >>23715690One thing I will say about Nox is that I'm glad Takahashi finally decided to combine the edgy rival role with the secondary, since he tends to focus more on the rivals like Genm, Horobi, and Buffa and neglect the secondary Rider. Even though the character still isn't written well, at least he combined the roles and is giving the secondary more focus.
This is literally gochizos all over again
>>23715995I just feel like it's going nowhere and it seems like the manga doesn't move much forward either. It's such a cool concept though especially with Shocker being real, so there's a lot of potential in that. My autism hates that the V3 guy is the only one without a mask despite liking Kamen Rider and is going to fight Shocker, doesn't help that he's also the worst of the bunch. Like you get to be an actual Kamen Rider and you still just decide to dress up in Shiro's civilian outfit. Kinda stupid.
>>23716066Eh, those aren't really flaws he has as a person. For the most part he's just either generic nice guy in the real world or generic super hero man in the dream one (his "secret agent" persona is a far cry from the likes of James Bond and his clones).
>>23716076>or with the Nem capsem final form.Anon, they're not going to kill her off until the very end.
>>23716087Gochizos with the ugliest, most punchable faces.
>>23716053>>23716059>>23716060>>23716110We don't want you here.
>>23715280Man, Gokai Red being paired with Kuuga and Tiga feels off, since he's more suited with Decade and Mebius/Zero. If anything it should be GaoRed since Gaoranger represents a new era. But too bad there's no GaoRed SHF
>>23716116Would Baku/Zetz convert into Muslim like Nem?(surprising to see her post about wearing Hijab and converting as islam as I used to jack off with her bikini gravure)
>>23715351You're next after Imamori
>>23715746>>23715792Nailed it. It's why Takahashi's writings are so tiresome. The undeserved redemption.
>>23715708>>23715716I quite like Build and Gaim's comedic moments. Build did went overboard but the actors charisma helps. Like the Gentoku shirt gag which can get tiring easily but seeing Gentoku being a goofball makes it a lot more amusing instead of cringe.
>>23715351Did u forgot yer Hijab, Nem? I heard that u converted into Islam.
>>23715995it's kind of boring, but the op and ed are alright
>>23716141>Gentoku shirt gagThose few episodes where he showed up at the cafe wearing ridiculous outfits were a bit hard to watch for me, it's like they couldn't figure out how to integrate him into the group properly and made him as goofy as possible to make the kids watching forget all the bad shit he'd done up to that point, I love his redemption arc but they needed it to happen a bit earlier before shit started going down with Evolt and Pandora's box
>>23715690With the Power of Friendship or something. Japanese tell stories that give villains forgiveness easy acceptance.>oh you murdered an entire village>but you feel bad and said sorry to one kid>he's a good guy now
>>23716141Build was the first show where I just thought to myself how much I loved the cast, I just kinda liked seeing the guys just goof around. Like the scene where they turn into idiots playing with a hat really captures how endearing they were. They're not just working together, they're just an actual group of friends that you'd find in like high school, that was the heart and soul of Build. I also liked Gavv for the same reason, the main three Riders and Sachika make up a sweet family of lonely people that just want to help. I think that's why it may be so jarring going from Gavv to Zeztz because everyone's just disconnected from Baku besides his sister for obvious reasons. Even when Nox becomes an ally down the line, the leaks suggest the tertiary seems to be antagonistic and Three is already antagonistic too. It makes it hard to connect with any other character at the moment, whereas I was rooting for Shouma and Hanto at this point and liked seeing Lakia treat Shouma like a little brother around this point.

>>23716123It's only because Gokai Red is the oldest Heisei Red that have Shinkochou version.
>>23715583She's turning 18 this October.

[Interview] Kazuya Kamihoriuchi x Yuya Takahashi in Animage's February issuehttps://tieba.baidu.com/p/10408904673Q: May I ask you two how you accepted the invitation to work on this project?>Takahashi: During a dinner with the producer of Kamen Rider, with whom I had collaborated many times, he privately mentioned that he would be leaving Toei. Producer Yanaka (Hideaki) was also present at the time, and on the way home we talked about hoping to collaborate again. As a result, I received an invitation very quickly. I didn't expect it to happen so soon (laughs).>Kamihoriuchi: I received the invitation while filming in Kyoto, and I did say at the time, "I was recently asked about this too," right?>Yanaka: Yes. I also received the news shortly after the dinner gathering and contacted Takahashi-san agent and director Kamihoriuchi.>Kamihoriuchi: When I received the contact, I had already heard of Yuya-san name. Although I understand that we should prioritize inviting the screenwriter who is most important to the core of the work, it is indeed rare to be contacted by the director so early. At the time, I was happy to think, "Now that you've said that, I have to work hard!" and I also remember having a sense of anticipation that "I can do something interesting after I return to Tokyo."Q: How was the unique concept of an agent fighting in a dream world conceived?>Takahashi: After three or four rounds of discussions, the keyword "dream" was proposed, and it was only during the scriptwriting process that it was combined with the "spy" setting to take shape.Q: So the spy setting was added later.>Takahashi: Yes. Dreams are interesting as a descriptive element, but they can also easily become rambling, so we discussed the need for another central theme. Considering that investigating cases in a dream is different from the detective in "Kamen Rider W" and the police in "Kamen Rider Drive," we ultimately extracted the theme of a secret agent from spy movies.

>>23716816Q: How does director Kamihoriuchi view the core theme of this film?>When I joined, the concept of "dreams" was already established. At the time, Yuya-san, Yanaka-san, and I all felt that simply using dreams as the battleground would be monotonous. Our previous collaboration with them, "Kamen Rider Ex-Aid," used the game space as the battlefield. This time, we wanted to use a different approach to truly make dreams the main theme of the story, and we struggled with this for a long time (laughs). After many script discussion meetings, the idea of "hunting down the dream master in dreams" was born. We thought we had found the direction, but the subsequent development was still difficult to advance. Sometimes I would suggest, "This should be feasible, right?" But when I saw the script written by Yuya-san, I found that my proposed settings were contradictory. How to convey our ideas to the audience in a simple and easy-to-understand way is a question I am still thinking about during filming. This is perhaps the core issue I face when working on a project.Q:You still creating while exploring ways to convey their message.>Kamihoriuchi: Whether it's script discussions, on-set filming, or even post-production, the constant thought is "how to present it in a way that best conveys the message." Even during the final MA (audio post-production) process, we were still discussing, "Would adding this sound effect here make it easier to understand?" For 'Zeztz', my working method wasn't to complete the concept according to a predetermined goal, but rather to continuously increase the percentage of completion until the final deadline.

>>23716823Q: Director Kamihori and Takahashi-san have collaborated many times. Please share your impressions of each other.>Takahashi: From a visual arts perspective, directors skilled in tokusatsu filmmaking may focus on different genres, such as action or dramatic scenes, but director Kamihoriuchi impressed me by achieving a high level in both. His visual arts are not mechanical executions of "making it this way because the script is like this," but rather constructed with a unique worldview. In terms of artistic merit, he is a director who can work with us to refine the settings, discuss them repeatedly until we are satisfied, making him very trustworthy.>Kamihoriuchi: Yuya-san, such praise is embarrassing, please stop! (laughs)>Takahashi: (laughs)>Kamihoriuchi: Yuya-san is the kind of screenwriter who maintains his own core values while also listening attentively to the opinions of directors and producers—such people are rare. When he said he could "co-create the setting," he was actually leaving us room to participate in the design process. I've said something similar before: Yuya-san is ultimately a rational and eccentric genius.>Takahashi: Thank you (laughs)(1/2)
>>23716824Makes me remember when I wanna find DAIGO's Angel's Wings backpack ad when he got announced as Gotchard Daybreak and I can't find the original upload because the ad is considered expired by that time.
>>23716827>Kamihoriuchi: Some screenwriters who are good listeners tend to write loosely structured scripts that are all over the place, but Yuya-san doesn't do that, probably because he has a kind of madness at his core (laughs). He's amazing at always responding to our opinions with "But I want to do it this way" or "I think it would be more interesting this way." However, as a director, I sometimes worry about whether I've truly understood the script's hints and lines, and I'm afraid of turning a brilliant script into a mediocre one. Mr. Yuya's scripts are not to be taken lightly, and they are extremely difficult to present, but if they can be realized, they will definitely become interesting works. The collaboration process is always full of surprises, and I am very grateful. He is one of my favorite screenwriters.>Takahashi: Thank you.>Kamihoriuchi: This question should have been asked in separate interviews (laughs).>Takahashi: Saying these things in front of the person (laughs).(2/2)
>>23716625Three guns and three swords, for triple the accuracy.
>>23716829Opposing Ideas and Modes of Existence: The Relationship Between Baku and NoxQ: In the third episode, which concludes the pilot episode, the scene of Baku fighting in the real world is quickly depicted.>Kamihoriuchi: That scene was also brought up as a topic at the script discussion meeting.>Takahashi: Yes. Some have suggested that since the theme is "dreams," transforming in reality is no different from previous Kamen Rider series. However, even if children buy the toy and sleep with the belt, they might not be able to successfully transform in their dreams. To prevent children from being clueless about how to play in such situations, I think we should show a transformation scenario in reality. Also, if we keep telling stories about defeating monsters in dreams, people might think, "It's just a dream, it has nothing to do with reality." So, I want to show the worst-case scenario—"what if you can't defeat them"—to steer the story towards the idea of preventing future problems.>Kamihoriuchi: That's right. Because the theme is dreams, we've been discussing how to strengthen the sense of responsibility in acting within dreams, and at what stage this should be shown. Fortunately, I was in charge of directing the first three episodes, and as the script progressed, the structure gradually took shape with episode 3 as a turning point. So, showing it in episode 3 is to make the audience remember "this is how Zeztz unfolds" and "this is Baku's mission," thus encouraging them to continue watching.
>>23716835Q: Baku's heroic qualities are highlighted by depicting his battles in the real world early in the story.>Kamihoriuchi: The scene depicting Baku's first battle in reality was meant to portray both his lack of ease and control compared to his dream-like state, and his desperate attempt to combat a crisis in reality. If this sense of balance was conveyed to the audience in an unexpected way, that would be the director's responsibility, so we paid close attention to every word and action of the characters during filming. Specifically, for example, the pronunciation of "I'm on it." in reality wasn't idiomatic English, and his relentless fighting despite being unable to use his dream abilities. I hoped these details would be effectively conveyed to the audience.Q: Starting from episode 9, the unique relationship between Baku and Nox, which is slightly different from that of simple rivals, is depicted.>Takahashi: This is true of every Kamen Rider series. I've always believed that person who transforms hold a crucial position in the world-building of each work, so the themes must be treated with sincerity. Since the theme is dreams and espionage, the burdens carried by the transformer must also be related to dreams and espionage, and I wanted them to be as opposite as possible. Baku, who constantly says "becoming an agent is my dream" and has collected a large number of movie DVDs, and Nox, who sees the identity of "agent" as a nightmare symbol, I wanted to show that their views on dreams and espionage are completely opposite.
>>23716838Q: Did director Kamihoriuchi pay any special attention to when depicting the relationship between Baku and Nox?>Kamihoriuchi: Fortunately, I was responsible for directing some key episodes where Baku and Nox relationship intertwined and developed. To develop their relationship, I watch as concerened about Baku's feelings for Nox, but equally valued Nox's perspective. Yuya-san subtly foreshadowed in the script that Nox's feelings for Baku weren't merely negative or hostile. I paid close attention to the balance between Nox's ultimate goal and his personal feelings for those who followed the same path in each episode. Unlike Baku, who openly expressed his feelings, Nox wasn't very expressive, so during script discussions, I often asked Yuya-san and Yanaka-san: How much of a sense of proportion does Nox possess here?
>>23716845Q: Finally, I would like to ask the three of you, including producer Yanaka, about the highlights after episode 17.>Yanaka: The game set up by The Lady, who appears at the end of episode 15, will be a huge challenge for Baku, and the other CODE agents will also make their appearance. The three-way power struggle between Baku + Nemu+ Paranormal Affairs Division, CODE faction, and The Lady + Nox faction will be a highlight of the second half.>Takahashi: Baku, an ordinary yet outstanding young man, inexplicably became a secret agent, fighting for the world. But what kind of organization is CODE, which prompted him to do this, and what are they plotting? Characters, led by The Lady, will appear one after another, triggering various events surrounding these core mysteries. We hope you can look forward to the expansion of the "secret agent" worldview, one of the main themes, and that the story will have significant turning points. Please don't miss a single episode.>Kamihoriuchi: I believe the strength of "Zeztz" lies in the fact that, because it airs year-round, it's not just a single main storyline of heroes and villains. Instead, it's a three-way power struggle, a four-way battle, involving personal relationships, organizational stances, and certain ideologies. It unfolds around different groups of people, creating various interconnected threads. If viewers can appreciate not only the fun of being a Kamen Rider but also the complex web of interpersonal relationships, they will be able to fully enjoy "Zeztz". I hope everyone will pay attention to these aspects.

>>23717000I like the way the both mirror each other with Takumi as someone who doesn't know how to open up to people and is a loner with good intentions but Kusaka puts on a facade of being holier than thou but he's actually a massive piece of shit and tries to hide it from people

>>23717469Gavv has absolutely been my personal highlight of the Reiwa era. It's a nice, lower-scale, more personal story with really endearing characters. Every other Reiwa series has some major detractors, even those that are generally viewed more positively. You'll find people say laudatory and condemnatory things for all of them. People *still* argue vehemently in this general about the quality of Saber in particular.No-one would recommend you watch Revice, though, and in my personal opinion Gotchard is also devoid of much redemptive value.
>>23717533Really the best thing about Gotchard is its music, the main three female villains and some of the side cast. You could tell they had no idea what they wanted to do with the show, be a school thing? Focus on the alchemy? (which in turn just acts like magic half the time?)
>>23717469I liked Revice and Gavv. Zero-One, Geats and Gotchard were middle of the road. Saber and Zeztz are boring.
>>23717469I absolutely hated Zero-One personally. I don't wanna sound like too much of a histrionic shitposter but I disliked that show so much I genuinely can't understand how people enjoy it. Amazing movie though, one of the best Rider movies for sure.I loved Saber but your mileage may vary greatly. It feels really fucking different from any other series so any "Seiken Sentai Saberger" jokes you see really aren't too far form the truth. Start is kind of rocky but after that it's amazing, and I don't even think the start is as bad as other people seem to.Haven't seen Revice or GeatsGotchard is whatever, I didn't hate most of it but the main leads being so totally miscast was constantly taking me out of the show. It has some good bits, if you want a really simple season you'll probably enjoy it, kind of.Really loved Gavv, it has some issues but as a complete package it's just a really great experience with an awesome main cast.

On top of leaving a sizeable number of anons disappointed by the end, in Japan there were reports that it had lost some of the adult male fanbase which led to weaker sales compared to the other shows, and in China it's a controversial show. There really isn't a universally beloved Reiwa show yet, but Zero-One and Geats probably have the largest fanbase overall.
>>23717561Love Yuzuki. Don't care for the others.
>>23717469Personally speaking with Reiwa the action has improved drastically and is much better than most of Heisei but the writing quality overall has sort of gotten worse for no specific reason other than bad luck behind the productionsZero-One is just good, it starts out amazing but it then introduces a villain that's extremely retarded yet everyone in the cast treats as a mastermind which in turns makes the cast seem dumber, its final arc is really interesting and unique culminating in an amazing final fight but its ending itself is pretty bad and the show has a lot of plot holes that end up being resolved in side contentSaber is like Drive where it starts really weak but from the second quarter onward it's mostly strong with a lot of truly emotional moments and a really memorable final arc, yet the setting feels derivative, still I found it to be a mostly great showRevice really sucks, the first 18 episodes are great but the next 32 episodes except for maybe 2 episodes completely undo anything interesting or favorable of the show, even the action and music suffer somehowGeats is the most 7/10 season of Rider imo, it's not offensive enough to be bad but to a hardcore fan it isn't impressive outside of the action, the first half is pretty great even if villains come off as shallow and the characters seem to forgive people to easily while bullying others for no reason, the second half is significantly weaker with a terrible antagonist and the cast becoming temporarily retarded yet it somehow manages to have got emotional conclusions for some of the castGotchard is average, for every good thing it does it does something bad, it mostly comes off as unmemorableGavv is the only show that comes close to feeling like a high quality Heisei show aside from maybe Saber, it has an extremely retarded villain faction sadly but otherwise from the start up to the penultimate episode the character relationships, drama, votw and action remain high quality(1/2)
>>23717469>>23717691Zeztz so far feels like a 7/10, the direction and action are really strong and the hero are all likeable even if it feels like they don't interact with each other as much as they should, the biggest detriment is that votw are mixed bag but the start doesn't progress the story much making their flaws far more noticeable, but the second arc that just started has been a noticeable improvement so far now that the plot is at the forefrontBlack Sun is mediocre, it has some characters whose motivation comes off as shallow or utterly nonsensical, while the main trio are likeable for most of the show and it has a strong presentation and soundtrack, the final episode sort of undoes any good will the show has by doing a character assassination to most of the hero castFuuto PI is anime but it's done by the same staff as W so it just feels like an edgier W, if you liked W you'll probably like the animeShin Kamen Rider is pretty great but it feels rushed, a re-release with new scenes that turn the movie into a mini-series makes the story and pacing more cohesive improving the experience but it still manages to feel rushedToujima so far is a parody anime that rather that despite having a lot of references to Showa Rider it mostly feels like a spiritual successor of one of the author's previous stories, Air Master, rather than an actual Kamen Rider parody, it's a story about weaponizing autism in a comedic way, if you have seen Air Master and liked you'll definitely like this one(2/2)
>>23716823>Contradictory to the script Just kill takahashi. It's that simple.
>>23717700And that's why you'll never get hired in the entertainment industry
>>23717691>but otherwise from the start up to the penultimate episode the character relationships, drama, votw and action remain high qualityThe way they handled Chocold and every single one of Bitter Gavv's users, the storyline of Rakia's search for Comel's killer, constantly blueballed us with Dente's death flags, and ended the 2-parter centered around Hanto's mom's kidnapper sucked donkey balls.
>>23717694>the direction and action are really strongI feel like the only outstanding parts of Zeztz's action are the bike scenes and the abundance of cinematic shots. The actual hand-to-hand choreography feels like a step down most of the time, and that includes the suit acting.

>>23717613The family theming was something fresh for Kamen Rider and well explored with its cast. Ikki's a basic enough protagonist, but the contract he has with Vice leads to some heavy hitting drama in the end. The scene at the hospital before the second to last fight reminded me a lot of Kuuga. I like how there are episodes after the main villain is defeated to address the character drama that has been building up. Hiromi, George, Kagero and Genta are all standout characters. Jeanne isn't completely embarrassing as a female Rider.
>>23718069The problem, withthe show was it gave MUTEKI DA too many wannabe yuri moments with Aguilera, Ikki kind of became a side character with no aspirations. Daiji ends up jobbing and being stupid too. Also Giff is a wet fart as a villain.Show shouldhave kept its original script of three siblings fighting over what is essentially a WMD.
>>23718075Jeanne was just written like a Kamen Rider and that comes with gaybaiting. I feel Aguilera could have been fleshed out more post-redemption.Ikki's aspirations is to bring his family back together.Daiji killed his emotions and was broken by the enemy. He was brought into the same fear that Akaishi had fallen into. He jobs because he's a gun rider.Giff's allowed to be a wet fart because he's used by other villains and they don't end on him. He's a figurehead for the Deadmans and Fenix.
>>23715800>my issues with Kuroto come from the post-series stuff which undoes most of this.He was the villain in all 3 v-cinemas and only got vague redemption in the end after he "died".

I wonder if Uchida’s desire to write a Season 2 comes from a grudge of having to share screenwriting credit
>>23718196It wasn't just Hasegawa, you had:-MinatoP killing some of his good ideas and imposing his own vision and going over the heads of the writers-Hasegawa swooping in because the top brass didn't trust him and Minato-then Matsuura hiring Akiko on account of him "liking" her novels (the same novel that was btw panned on /m/ when it came out). The writing aspect of Gotchard sounds like a complete clusterfuck.
>>23717686I didn't bring up sales for the rest so why would I do it for Gavv. I also never said it was universally beloved, people here seethe about everything including seasons like Kuuga and W.In every big user review site both English and Japanese fans rate Gavv more highly than they do any other Reiwa season. >>23718393It got the franchise canceled because the producer of Black, RX and the next Rider show that ended up not happening had a tantrum against Ishinomori at the time, not due to its performance. It actually did better than Black which is why Toei and Bandai for a long time basically "replaced" Black with RX in videogames, stage shows, manga, etc (although Black still got some figures) in the 90s (like in the Kamen Rider SD games and the Compati Hero/Great Battle series, so it really has nothing to do with continuity).>>23718428Interestingly, in Shirakura's message for the Agito exhibition, he's now saying it was Kuuga's staff that opposed the idea of a sequel. But, yeah, the original message in the Agito site felt like it was purely Shirakura/Agito's staff choice to distance the two series, although it was in order to "respect" Kuuga's ending.

Kamen Rider Gotchard UniversityOne year has passed since Ichinose Hotaro (Kamen Rider Gotchard) and his allies overcame their battle against the evil alchemist Grion, successfully eliminating Uroboros—the entity that governs cycles and eternity. One day, a mysterious light streaks down to the new world. Upon receiving a report from the Chemies, Hotaro sets out to investigate alongside Kurogane Spana, the instructor at the Alchemist Academy. But at the same time, the shadowy organization "Fractal"—which patrols and sells mysterious lifeforms known as "HOPE"—begins to stir in the darkness...This is a must-read novel for Gotchard fans! It's an adaptation of one episode from the hypothetical Season 2, depicting Hotaro and crew's new battle, continuing directly from the TV series and V-Cinext "Kamen Rider Gotchard: GRADUATIONS."Written by Hiroki Uchida and Yosuke Minato Just like the TV version On sale March 16 1,100 yen

The manga epilogue chapter for Kamen Rider Faiz (that was published in Televi Magazine, I think?) The story roughly goes like this: Faiz and Horse Orphnoch team up to rescue people trapped in a burning building. Of course, it's worlds apart from the TV version, but it's the kind of ending many fans wanted to see— humans and Orphnochs truly living together. But one interesting point that comes up is: Horse Orphnoch is right next to the Faiz Blaster... Isn't that dangerous? To explain why, we have to dive into the deep lore: "Crimson Cross" The red surface of Blaster Form continuously emits energy, equivalent to Faiz Edge's Medium mode, and it can incinerate regular Orphnochs into ashes with just a touch. The armor is coated with heat-dissipating fiber material and a coolant substance to protect the user. This is a detail I never knew either— Blaster Form's specs are secretly this brutal. As for Kiba, who gets carried by the wing, he should be fine since he's probably an advanced-type Orphnoch.

Don't you love it when the final form gets mailed over with no explanation at all? I have a feeling Inoue forgot about the old man who could've served as a great excuse to introduce this one more properly. But iirc in Agito the final forms aren't explained much either besides "I'm too angry" or "ohhh sunlight pretty".I thought Mihara almost redeemed himself but no, this episode proves he's the dumbest man alive. And finally they explained entirely what went on the night of the reunion, so Kusaka can finally stop obssessing over Takumi's wolf dick.
>>23718988Faiz is based.
>>23718988Faiz is very well known for the new forms getting either thrown at his face, falling out of the ceiling or being mailed to him. Inoue is usually pretty terrible at giving heroes new forms that make satisfactory sense.
>>23718995I never alluded to the contrary, the show is already sitting on a pedestal with Kuuga and Agito for the pre-Hibiki shows (I love Blade too but it feels less coherent than it's predecessors).>>23718996This feels like Inoue at his worst when it comes to introducing new toy-related stuff, but then again I was ready for it because Donbrothers makes it clear he never changed his ways. There's also a little something that's been bothering me and I did a quick check, up to that point this is the longest time it took for a final form that debuted in the movie to show up on TV. More than 2 months compared to Agito and Ryuki's 3 weeks.
>>23718988Aren't the equipment supposed to be modeled after in universe Smart Brain equipment? Getting mailed new tech kinda makes sense in Faiz anyway, like the rise of online shopping or something.

In this crisis, the former Armored Riders reunite once again. But against an enemy stronger than imagination, they fall one by one... one by one... In the end, who will save this world?>Kamen Rider Build - Be the twoThe backdrop is the new world created by "Kiryu Sento," just like in the Build NEW WORLD series, set 7 years after the final battle. When the entire human race in the new world faces an unprecedented crisis, the key to saving the world from collapse lies in the "old world." This miraculously brings back the former comrades-in-arms to reunite. As for the hidden meaning behind the title "Be The Two"...

>>23720190That triple henshin has to be the biggest "this has no right to be as hype as it is" moment in Kamen Rider.
>>23720247One thing I'll always defend about Inoue is that he consistently sets up these hype moments where all the main characters gather up for a cool transformation/roll call sequence (the one in Donbrothers might be my favorite but this one and Agito's can comfortably sit right next to it).
>>23720143Would it kill you to wait to see how things turn out before you start complaining though? I know Takahashi's cliches can get tiresome, but there's enough breaks from the usual pattern that need to be taken into consideration. For starters, Nox being portrayed as resigned to his current course of action, more in line with Takatora in Gaim than psychotically malicious like Dan or Gai, or throwing a tantrum like Michinaga. It's not a lot, but it's still very much against Takahashi's preferred characterization. Again, I understand the sentiment, but we're hardly even halfway through the show, there's still time for surprises before trotting out the list of Takahashi's writing crimes.

But even then, that doesn't make Zeztz and its shitty villain exempt from criticism, we're almost halfway done and he's still boring as fuck.>For starters, Nox being portrayed as resigned to his current course of action, more in line with Takatora in Gaim than psychotically malicious like Dan or Gai, or throwing a tantrum like Michinaga. Nox tried to talk Nem's adoptive dad into getting himself killed, let a police department get bombed, and is currently letting a bunch of people get hurt by the weekly Nightmare without a single care, not to mention he tried to get the world destroyed. If he thinks any shittery he does is free of consequence because he thinks he can undo it later on, that doesn't make him much better than Kuroto. If he's only working with The Lady because he wants to get back at CODE, that doesn't make him much better than Michinaga when he joined Beroba's faction, who also thought he was just doing what needed to be done but in reality was just throwing a massive temper tantrum while doing a bunch of unnecessarily evil shit along the way.

Ep. 20’s summary:>Baku (Ryutaro Imai) realized he had been training as an agent in his dreams without knowing it, yet he still chose to fight to save the dream master. Amidst this, a 10-year-old boy took on a mission to conquer a monster hideout in the “Adventurers' Village” within the dream world. Mo accompanied him on this journey alongside Nemu (Maho Horiguchi).
>>23718758Because she takes big shits.
>>23720356Might be cool if it's getting a mini-show without crossover elements.
Is the Skull Man manga good? What about the anime? I can't find anything about it online. I've only read the one-shot so far.
>>23720888You need to watch the 2000s Cyborg 009 Anime to understand the plot of the anime, otherwise the finale will be extremely confusingHaven't read the manga yet but I've heard it's goodJust use desu man

>>23720894judge it, king
>>23720121Yeah it's the only one with emphasis on kaiju battles, the CGI was too expensive which is one of the reasons the show went over budget resulting in its producer getting firedThe only other show that has a slight focus on Kaiju battles is Wizard which the producer initially envisioned as a sort of Hibiki 2.0 until the writer started having scheduling issues

>>23720890Oh I had no idea they were connected, thanks. I've never read cyborg 009.
>>23720904Yeah it's weird that it wasn't in any of the promotional material for the anime, I get it's probably to make the final plot twist less predictable but it backfires hard since it makes the story confusing if you know nothing about Cyborg 009But otherwise the anime is fun, the cast is good, it has the same music composer as Shin Godzilla and the animation is really good since it's made by the studio that made Eureka Seven / Karakuri Kiden / Concrete Revolutio
>>23720888The manga is unironically awesome, has a great atmosphere and story, highly recommend it. The anime also has a fantastic atmosphere but isn't as good due to it being esoteric, it's done by the staff that made RaXephon, if you liked that anime then I recommend it.
Sound Capsems Sets 4 and 5
>>23720938Finally, been wanting them to get through these ASAP so I could get plasma and booster sound capsems
>>23720527>He's not even talking about Nox specifically, he's just stating what makes for good and bad redemptions, overdefensive Takahashifag.Yes, but it was in relation to Nox's characterization if you read the reply chain. And I'm not even a Takahashifag. I just find it tiresome how people have been looking for excuses to whine about him and the show before he was even officially confirmed to be working on Zeztz. It doesn't help that every damn week people would rather jump to conclusions over plot threads that are clearly meant to be explained later than wait to see how it plays out.>d. If he thinks any shittery he does is free of consequence because he thinks he can undo it later on, that doesn't make him much better than Kuroto. That's the problem, we don't know his reasoning yet. We're just going to have to wait and see if the explanation is reasonable enough. All we have to go on is his actions being at odds with his behavior, which isn't anything like the prior examples. The Lady having brainwashing abilities also complicates matters. But again, people are much too impatient and just want to make kneejerk reactions before the plot even fully plays out.
>>23719801So I'm confused. We've gotten leaks for a Kabuto movie being filmed and being rated by a Chinese movie site or something with the cast hinting at a project for several months. But baidu leakers like color confidently states that an Agito movie is happening and we even get a Agito exhibition this year. Which one is actually happening and which one is bullshit?
>>23721040maybe they confused Kabutack with Kabuto
>>23720116>>23720114They die again though in the post-series specials which are canon whether you like it or not.
>>23721070???Are you the same retard who thought Zack was dead in Gaim?
>>23721040Both Agito and Kabuto getting movies make sense because 2026 is their milestone anniversary year.

>>23721020>I just find it tiresome how people have been looking for excuses to whine about himSo you're a Takahashifag then.>It doesn't help that every damn week people would rather jump to conclusions over plot threads that are clearly meant to be explained later than wait to see how it plays out. With Takahashi, the conclusions just tend to make his characters look worse and more retarded.>That's the problem, we don't know his reasoning yet. We're just going to have to wait and see if the explanation is reasonable enough. All we have to go on is his actions being at odds with his behavior, which isn't anything like the prior examples.Unless he was literally forced to do things like talking an innocent man into suicide, it's gonna be very hard to justify his actions. If he's doing this entirely out of his own volition, he won't be much different from an "ends justify the means" extremist like Michinaga, who's shown having scenes where he feels somewhat conflicted about doing very evil shit but still does it anyways "for the sake of his goal" even though many of those evil acts didn't actually help him reach his goal and were just him going along with Beroba's sadistic plans that just existed to entertain her. For his actions to be completely justified, The Lady's goal has to be truly good and objectively better than CODE's (which isn't likely given how obviously evil she is) and they'll need to explain how every single one of his evil actions was absolutely necessary for the plan and/or show he was always in complete control of the situation and wasn't going to let anyone get hurt (unlikely given how annoyed he gets with Zeztz's interventions). But if he's just helping out with The Lady's evil plan to foil CODE's own evil plan, it won't make him much different from Michinaga, who helped a group of villains just to stop another group of villains like the dumbass he is.
>>23721117Then I pray next year we get Ryuki and Fourze movies for their milestone anniversary year.
>>23721137Oh wait my bad it's Den-O's anniversary next year not Fourze.
>>23720834It'll get skipped because the current subber has an autistic obsession with Dragonic Knight and Primitive Dragon, seemingly to shill buying Saber DVDs

>Lemme see if I understand, Anon. You claim to hate Takahashi's writing but also regularly misremember plot points from his shows?
This cheeky fucking cunt, they should've choked him on the pasta they were having on the other table. I thought the police got completely dropped out of the picture around the middle of the show but it seems they're even getting involved in the human vs Orphnoch war now?
I want Nox to remain antagonistic until the end to be honest
>>23721260God I loved how bitter he was at that point of the series. The fact that Mari accepted Takumi was eating him alive. Also are going to watch the movies after the series?
>>23721287Absolutely, after I'm done with the show my plan is watching Paradise Lost and then Regained to wrap up Faiz. And yeah ever since Mari accepted Takumi back, Kusaka's attempts at trying to put doubt into everyone keep failing so hard you'd think he'd stop.
