The Reboot design goes for a more purist approach, but it still ends up looking kind of goofy, especially in the face and how baggy the suit is. Amemiya gives Hakaider a more organic or biomechanical look while still retaining a lot of his key design points and I think it's a more appropriate modernization, especially for the whole "gritty 90s antihero" thing they did.
