>>23750514What was wrong with the concept of doing that with space travel as a theme, like how in Dekaranger it was a consistent setting where aliens just exist and interact? Why does it have to be a damn multiverse?

>>23750514Producer of "Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity" Eyes Serialization; Infinite World Expands via MultiverseDeep Dive into "Super Space Sheriff Gavan" Premiere! Gavan Jouchaku Interview"Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity" builds on the innovative spirit of the popular 1980s tokusatsu "Space Sheriff Gavan" (1982–1983) while constructing a fresh worldview. It follows the exploits of Galactic Federation Police investigator Reiji Doki, who jouchaku into the metallic body of Gavan Infinity—whose body glows red—as a special effects drama. The story unfolds across a multiverse (Cosmo Layer) with multiple overlapping Earths, where Reiji Doki travels through dimensions, teaming up with various Space Sheriffs Gavan for investigations. Why Three Space Sheriffs Gavan AppearCompared to the 1980s when "Space Sheriff Gavan" aired, space has become a more accessible theme in our scientifically advanced modern era. Producer Yoshito Kuji began, "We wondered what facing space or SF would look like today. From the start, we brainstormed with the director and scriptwriter". He revealed his approach to building the worldview: "We took a broad view of the term 'Space Sheriff' and used ideas like 'How can we make it feel more space-like? More cop-like?' to shape character designs, story formats, and villain setups".A key element is "Emorgy", an energy lifeform that reacts to the emotions of its possessor. This concept, essential for Gavan's jouchaku into, was proposed by Producer Yoshito Kuji, who focused on "emotions". "Bandai initially suggested an alien-like key item, but I thought, 'What if we add one more layer?' It could spark kids' first awareness of emotions, and it pairs perfectly with cop dramas delving into victims' and criminals' feelings".(1/?)
>>23750539Notably, the worldview features not one, but multiple Space Sheriffs Gavan, each existing on different dimensional Earths. Already announced are the protagonist Gavan Infinity (Multiverse Earth A0073), Gavan Bushido (Multiverse Earth Λ8018), and Gavan Luminous (Multiverse Earth Ι5109)—three Gavans in total. On introducing three Gavans, Producer Yoshito Kuji explained, "One reason is to spark viewers' imaginations". "You'll see in episode 1, but the story centers on Gavan Infinity. We declare 'Gavan is the universe's one true hero,' then reveal 'There are many universes—so many Gavans.' This lets audiences think, 'Maybe there's a Gavan like this in another universe'".>To expand the world without it feeling like Kamen Rider (tracking one hero) or Super Sentai (team always together), we differentiate by having multiple potential protagonists across the multiverse who meet. Imagine heroes who could headline their own series crossing paths with ones already bearing that title, sparking new stories. I told the scriptwriter, 'Build worlds deep enough for Gavan Bushido to lead a full year!' They said, 'Of course!' and we crafted three interconnected ones. Multiverse Introduction Inspired by "Doraemon" FilmsWhile multiverse elements have popularized in recent American comic hero works, concerns like "the plot can't keep up" arise from complex setups. In Toei tokusatsu for kids and adults alike, how is the multiverse introduced?>Of course, we worried about it getting too complex or kids not following, so we kept it as 'a show about hero Gavan Infinity's action'—fully enjoyable on that level. But for fans, we added layers that deepen with digging.(2/?)
>>23750541Producer Yoshito Kuji elaborated on the structure using the "Doraemon" film series: "In those movies, Nobita and Doraemon live in one world, visit another, befriend new characters, solve troubles, and return home. For 'Gavan Infinity,' we got excited in planning about delivering that movie-like thrill weekly". "Gavan Infinity" Could Get Seasons 2 & 3Scriptwriter Atsuhiro Tomioka, who teamed with Producer Yoshito Kuji on Super Sentai series #48 "Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger", was chosen for "Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity." Yoshito Kuji places immense trust in Tomioka's knack for creating compelling characters in "Boonboomger". >"PROJECT R.E.D." is a mid-to-long-term project, so from the start, I fantasized about seasons 2 and 3 for 'Gavan Infinity'—maybe season 2 with Gavan Bushido as lead, or spin-offs for other Gavans. No one but Tomioka could build this infinite worldview.Pilot director (sets the work's direction) is Hirofumi Fukuzawa, a Super Sentai veteran who suited many Reds. His recent shift to action director and director roles, marking his first pilot gig, has drawn pre-broadcast buzz.On casting Fukuzawa, Producer Yoshito Kuji said, "Fans will especially get why we picked an action-rooted director for 'Gavan'". He has a clear intent.>For example, the "John Wick" films are directed by a stuntman alum. Their action-based worldview sparks unique fun, so I thought Fukuzawa could deliver something fresh. Previously, he'd join fully set projects and make them look cool; this time, he shapes settings, cast, and locations freely. Just imagining his visuals excites me.Yoshito Kuji also praises Fukuzawa's "versatile directing toolkit". "He's a huge student of media—films, anime, manga, even haiku lately. His evolving knowledge from all genres makes him perfect for 'PROJECT R.E.D.'s first pilot". (3/?)
>>23750537It already happened with Metal Hero, they have a shiny close-up suit and a trashier action suit.
>>23750543Episode 1 Highlights: "Reiji Doki's Cool Factor"True to its "Infinity" title, the work brims with potential. "I don't want 'PROJECT R.E.D.' to end in a few years. While future plans are in discussion, I see 'Super Space Sheriff Gavan' running seasons 2 and 3 as a brand—TV series, theatrical films, or media mix spin-offs all sound great," Producer Yoshito Kuji enthuses. If "PROJECT R.E.D." had a tagline, he'd pick "An Expanding Project." "It means birthing endless heroes and reaching new audiences beyond tokusatsu fans. 'Infinity'—coined by producer Watanabe—is catchy with its symbol and fits the 'expanding' theme. Among countless Gavans, it marks the unique one crossing dimensions: Gavan Infinity". For the February 15 episode 1, he highlights: "Protagonist Reiji Doki has this refreshingly cool vibe—you'll want to watch him forever. We've created a hero like that. Lead actor Kohei Nagata will grow as an actor and as Reiji Doki, so watch for that". To original "Space Sheriff Gavan" fans and Super Sentai viewers entering hiatus, he appeals: "We reapproached 'hero' from scratch to deliver 'This is the hero we wanted!' Don't just watch—experience it live with crowds in real time". (Interview & text: Editorial Dept. Takuya Kuramoto)(4/4)>>23750188I started translating it before this interview but the Shirakura/Kuji interview is really long, will have it ready in a few hours

>>23750589Hopefully very good
>>23750589Hopefully very cool
>>23750589An interesting one. It's gonna be pretty odd to not see Sentai right after Rider, especially after so many years, but I'm optimistic on it. May this be the beginning of something good.
Will there be an ED dance sequence?
Is it gonna be fun/funny?
>>23750608We have no idea. We only know that there's an OP in Love Is The Strongest. It's probably going to not have an ED visual.
>>23750589A waifufag fest because half of the cast is female
>>23750589Mixed. It's gonna be a lot at once to tell people "we're confident in this!" despite shitting their pants behind the scenes and that's going to bleed through. Like the inherent problem with Infinity out the gate is that they're trying to do way too much and Gozyu just showed how bad that can be for show structure down the line.

>>23750656>>23750660What happened? Was it not explained? Like the actress couldn't film that scene and they used the stunt double, or...?
>>23750664It was not explained. They just couldn't get the replacement GozyuUnicorn actress for that shooting session, so they just kept her helmet on like no one would notice. Unfortunately she's taking up most of the screen so people noticed, and will probably be one of the main images Gozyuger will conjure when talked about.
>>23750667>replacement GozyuUnicornWhat? They replaced her mid season? I hadn't followed this season.
>>23750650To summarize>Gozyu Black's actress got fired due to an unspecified controversy, officially it was due to underage drinking but that's seemingly a front, due to the contract the actress had with her agency Toei is forced to remove every scene with her and recast her, however because her firing happened so late in production the last 2 episodes had to be filmed without a replacement and all of the scenes with her replacement were done in post-production >the last episode was one of the episodes with the most issues due to the recast, even the show's producer talked about it before the episode came out saying he was disappointed they had to handle it this way because at the time of filming it was immediately after the recast and they hadn't hired Gozyu Unicorn's replacement yet>the finale was OK emotionally but ultimately way to many aspects of Gozyuger's worldview are left unresolved/undercooked>the finale didn't feel like a finale to Super Sentai, this was done on purpose according to the producer, he wanted the Finale to feel like Gozyuger's finale while the VS movie with Boonboomger will feel like a farewell with Sentai>Toei created a banner with every red ranger to celebrate>yesterday the president of the company that helped with co-coordinating monster designs passed away
>>23750650>>23750673
>>23750673>yesterday the president of the company that helped with co-coordinating monster designs passed awayRest In Peace. Thank you for that, that is all highly interesting. Too bad they have gone to the nostalgia well so much recently, because a big movie with all the sentai teams could have been really inmpactful if it wasn't the theme of like 3 of the recent sentai shows.
>>23750676>>23750650Oh yeah and also some of the red rangers that apparead in the show re-appeared in the last episode
>>23750676Is that Gremlin?! I would watch it for she.
>>23750671The original actress was caught underaged drinking (but it could've been a cover-up about her having relations with a suit actor which is a big no-no) so her actress basically disappeared from the show because her agency removed all rights to her image. so for a couple episodes the show was in limbo and felt eerie because it was so obvious she was being cut out. The replacement actress (Kohaku, OniSister from Donbros) did the best job she could to salvage what they could, but she was unavailable for that session so GozyuUnicorn is the only one with her helmet still on. The original actress has basically vanished, seemingly become a hikikomori.
>>23750679Yeah, it's her.
>>23750673>Gozyu Black
>>23750679It's her, but like I said her scenes were kinda rushed because the staff had no prep time and having to be added after the whole show got filmed so they feel awkward despite her being a better actress>>23750677They're getting BoulenRed, Gokai Red and Zyuoh Eagle at least
>>23750682It's 12:50 and it was a long workday cut me some slack
>>23750589Great, Boonboomger's start was awesome and this is basically the same team but even less restraint, it also helps that every male character is played by an older actor so we can probably expect acting on the same level as King-Ohger and Boonboomger which is greatI jusr hope that Gavan is able to keep its momentum unlike Boonboomger which dropped hard in the middle due to the writer temporarily leaving

Good morning.>>What's your relationship like?>Kuji: Senior producer on a grand scale?>Shirakura: What was that?>Kuji: When we worked together, of course, like when launching Boonboomger, he was an advisor for the startup, helping with all sorts of things.>Shirakura: Yeah I did about 15 seconds worth.>Kuji: No, no, that's not true. It was more like getting his input along the way. Not like we worked together for a full year or anything.>>Of Toei tokusatsu works produced by Shirakura-san, which ones stand out to you? In terms of build, I could do a Fukuzawa-san position too.>Shirakura: You kinda look like Fukuzawa-san.>Kuji: So during Gosei Blue, Red was taken by Takeuchi-san, and I just kept the Blue position straight into Gosei Blue. The Gosei Blue from Michinoku Coastal Trail. We don't really talk about that on set but something like that.>Shirakura: When dummies stand in for suit fittings, you guys slip in yourselves, right?>Kuji: Yes, I can do both.>Shirakura: Basically, if Lead-chan can't make it, and they send some random guy, the body type and height are way off, so it doesn't work as a reference. No choice but for Kuji to do it himself.>Kuji: The other day, during a robot check, I happened to have no schedule conflict and brought my kid along. I said, "He'll get in", and as they kept attaching the armor pieces on the ground, my kid started crying.>Shirakura: Did he look like he was being tortured or something.>Kuji: "Lead-chan turned into a robot!" Bandai was right there, but they stopped on the spot since they weren't trying to sell robots by making a kid cry. So someone else got in.>>Project R.E.D., when did you first learn about it, Kuji-san?>Shirakura: It's Impressive. >Kuji: I think I heard about it in a "just so you know" kind of way.>Shirakura: We definitely said something like "Gavan vibe", right?(2/?)
>>23751172>Kuji: Did we say Gavan? They pitched it with that image, I think. Timing-wise, probably after Boonboomger wrapped, though the concept was brewing a bit earlier. Around then, they shared the vision for what came next, including that Gavan-like thing. It was still just a possibility at that point. I remember hearing it out like that, and they asked for my thoughts, building on opinions layer by layer. Of course, it wasn't just mine—they exchanged views with all sorts of people. But they did hear me out too.>>How did you feel when you heard you'd be in charge as producer?>Kuji: One part gratitude— if they'd done it without involving me, I'd have been jealous or regretful. And from Shirakura-san's perspective, as the "Girls' School guy" (he's referring in production style), it was probably like, "If you think you can do it, give it a shot". So, could I rise to that?>Shirakura: Jealous? It took me 30 years.>Kuji: Hearing you say that, of course there's pressure, but I thought it'd be great if I could enjoy it.(3/?)
>>23751169Kuji sure knows how to kiss ass.
>>23751174>>How much red do as hero have to have to be consider part of R.E.D.?>Shirakura: I thought it might be better to come up with a cool title. While everyone had various ideas, making it something whose initials spell out RED felt stylish, right? It suits this timeslot, right? It's fitting to succeed Super Sentai, right? So, on a whim, we named it Project R.E.D, like that. That means it's locked into being all about red heroes. It'll end up being all red characters. Like Sentai, if we gather past Project R.E.D heroes or characters, it could turn into something that's always red. Worrying about that now won't get us anywhere. Let's just go for it, go for it—that kind of feeling. So, there's not really a strong obsession with red characters themselves. But since it's within the Project R.E.D framework, we can naturally make them red. How do we make it red? Normally, for new characters, you consider color schemes, right? Getting boxed into the typical is really cliché, or you try other color variations—what color works best? We can skip that stage. Let's start with red first. Accent colors can be other hues, but this might accidentally create an environment that's easy for birthing new characters.>Kuji: That really rang true for me. Especially red heroes— Toei has been producing them for many years. In that sense, as you mentioned inheriting know-how, I feel like there's also a drive to make red heroes cool and not lose out to other companies.(4/?)
>>23751114>>23751120of course best frontier girl gets it
>>23751179>Shirakura: I don't know anything about it. Senior's Red became hugely famous, so it almost felt like Super Sentai invented it. But before that, things like Kamen Ninja Akakage, or the concurrent Captain Ultra— its protagonist is red for some reason too. So, Toei has continuously done red heroes. But if it becomes a strict constraint, it turns into a limitation. Rather, I'd like it to be loose, like "red is fine too". I think that's good. By the way, since we're calling Gavan the first installment, that naturally means there's a plan for a second one, right? Will the second one be red too?>Kuji: It's definitely not wrong to think it'll be red. That's not a slick way to put it. More than Gavan's image, it's about the direction Toei is heading. Nothing was visible at all— it was groping in the dark, really interestingly so. The feeling was like, let's just shine a red light ahead. In a sense, our resolve was set that way. Of course, there's no answer yet.>Shirakura: Indeed, compared to something vague like a Toei Hero Universe or other abstract concepts, R.E.D might have given a bit of an image. In hindsight, though.>>What’s the specific image for the "PROJECT R.E.D." series?>Kuji: It made sense to me. Rather than a model— of course, when explaining to others, using those helps make it easier, but a bit more like, if I say something flexible, like Jump Heroes or, in games, Smash Bros.— where heroes stand side-by-side without specifying past ones, this one's good, that one's good too— that kind of thing, system-wise not formulaic, "you can line these up", "is it weird to line these up?"— I roughly imagined them standing together in the future, and I hope we can make that happen. But if you say War Brothers or something, it pulls too much in that direction, so I'm wondering about that balance.(5/?)
>>23751182>Shirakura: Shared universes or connected worldviews are tough. We've always done parallels absolutely. If Boonboomger's finale makes the world peaceful, end. Then next week, new enemies appear— "Hey, Boonboom-chan, where'd you go? Come back from space!" We'd have to pick new warriors again— that standalone reset feel. VS. a continuous one like this. When introducing a brand-new hero in history, "Call the previous hero!"—that difficulty exists, right? Like Gundam, set in some distant future in history, or you could skip, but if it's events happening in the current timeline, space and present-day contemporary, fiction defined as two events—it's extremely hard. Western films like Batman and Superman— Metropolis and Gotham across the bay, Coastal City nearby—different cities. That river is hard to cross. For neighborhood heroes protecting their turf, you can develop with locality. But for Earth guardians or world protectors, going broad makes it tough. I think they've prepared those values well, so when the lid opens, most people will think, "That's huge". They can do it.(6/?)
>>23751183>>About the global rollout of "PROJECT R.E.D.">Shirakura: We're not doing global rollout yet, but I expect it to become that universally appealing. Naturally, like Power Rangers or Kamen Rider—maybe not fully, but fans like Ricardo Cruz in Brazil who love Metal Heroes— they're all over the world. It's not just "we'll keep doing Gavan series", but as an entry point, I think it's great. What's tricky is the position of Rider or Sentai in Japan VS. overseas—different per region/country, literacy varies completely. Super Sentai has run 50 years, Kamen Rider 55—without that history, where to start is unclear. If someone starts with Kamen Rider Zeztz suddenly, and you say there's endless series before— it conveys despair. "Can't understand Rider without all this?" That's a problem point in exploring globalization— we must break through it. If "just watch this from now on", "this alone is enough"— setting that starting point isn't trivial. For Project R.E.D, Gavan Garabyrinth's super space form, Gavan Ga— I hope we get such opportunities.>>Without the "Super Sentai series" title, what do you want to try?>Kuji: I didn't feel it as a constraint, but as you said earlier, long-running series carry that contextual baggage, making it seem continuous somehow. Rather, the starting line is the same for experts and casuals— that's the meaning of cutting a fresh start. Of course, work tastes matter, but how it connects to society, communicates— I feel this is a chance to do various things, so we'll rack our brains to make use of it!(7/?)
>>23751184>Shirakura: Gavan starts as a reboot of an old work, sure, but not rebooting Gavan itself we're borrowing the Gavan material well to smoothly transition from Super Sentai. From here on, entirely new hero shows beyond Sentai's light or what Sentai didn't have— maybe not even henshin heroes, possibly live-action battle things. I want it to expand new possibilities. This feels like something the Character Strategy Department or vague business unit is doing, but how do you do character business? Director Sakamoto has tons, but ultimately only two IPs: Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. We can make others, but the setup to make them absolutely exists. Great staff are born, know-how accumulated. Overthinking is bad, but staying within Kamen Rider/Super Sentai categories suppresses what we could really do. Probably an excess in a way. Using Super Sentai season know-how as a springboard/launchpad, first bullet, second, third— like a multi-stage rocket, I hope it launches up.>Kuji: Not limited to Kamen Rider— not Sentai from Senpai-san, not successors, not Rider. Just leveraging all three know-hows fully. That's where I struggle a lot, but target-wise, not narrowing to one spot. Rather, a system/program where different viewpoints enjoy together— better that way. This timing lets us expand, but forcing layers one way excludes others, and going forward it'd narrow more. I'll try to keep expanding consciously. Not aiming for average scores, but protruding outward. Among that, getting eyes on it, various hooks that pierce someone— preparing those leads to things that didn't exist before, unseen by anyone— I think that's the chance.>>PROJECT R.E.D. aims to raise the age demographic of its fans, so how will it differentiate itself from the "Kamen Rider" series?(8/?)
>>23751187>Kuji: I've been a fan who's watched Super Sentai, and I want all those fans to check out Gavan too—not just saying that the demographic Super Sentai covered is something I see differently. I think it was a show that was easy for younger, smaller kids to watch too, but I don't think it was specialized only for that. In a way, it's a program that all generations and all genders can enjoy, and what I'm aiming for is to bring together Super Sentai fans with fans of various other contents so everyone can enjoy it together.>>In the future, are there options for Toei tokusatsu series beyond broadcast TV?>Shirakura: Limiting it to Project R.E.D., I've always thought it would be great to have an original TTFC program. So please make it happen, TTFC team!>>How long do you plan to continue PROJECT R.E.D.?>Shirakura: You're getting ahead of yourself. First off, for the initial entries—like the first, second, and third installments—I'd love for one of them to suddenly hit it big, that's what I'm wishing for anyway. But as for settling in, we've only announced the first one and haven't actually started production yet, so the real test might come with the second or third entry. From here, we're gradually planning to move away from the format Toei has been producing for decades. We'll experiment and see how that's received—if it doesn't land, we might swing back the other way. I want to do all sorts of trial and error like that, and for the early stages at least, I hope it hooks viewers enough to allow for those experiments.(9/?)
>>23751190>>Why choose "Gavan" as the theme for the first entry?>Shirakura: It might not be strictly generational, but around 1982, when I was in high school, I watched it and it really shocked me. That was right when Toei was making cool stuff—actually, it was the previous generation of creators. I'd graduated from tokusatsu and random shows, chasing not just Toei productions but everything from special movie sites to "Saturday Night at the Theater"—I was a total Toei fanboy back then. And Gavan started right in the sweet spot. It made me think, "Toei is amazing". Personally, that's not the only reason we're doing this Gavan, but it had that kind of societal impact at the time, which I experienced firsthand. So I definitely think there's a fan base for it. Like with lineups of kid's shows that are sponsor-driven, as a two-generation hero—something parents and their kids can enjoy together—rebooting Space Sheriff in a form different from sponsor driven kid shows felt right somewhere along the line. Just like Producer Kuji said earlier, to broaden the audience beyond just kids and spill over generations, I thought this theme fits perfectly. Also, even though it's called Space Sheriff, Gavan was really an Earth Sheriff. He comes from space but stays on Earth, with the battlefield in pillow space—what's cosmic about that? That's one of the super fun contradictions in the three Space Sheriff Gavan series that built the Space Sheriff world. But this time, we're not denying pillow space or Earth or destroying space or anything. When challenging it again, I personally got really interested in how we could do it now.>>What do you want to express in "Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity"?(10/?)
>>23751194>Kuji: In that sense, the Space Sheriff world is incredibly interesting, and we thought a lot about what we can expand from the concepts of space and sheriff as a work. So please pay attention to that. In terms of direction, it's about how to express space when facing it now. And in terms of drama, with the sheriff element, criminals show up and you confront them—that's the appeal and fun of detective dramas we wanted to weave in somehow. In that vein, it's about facing sin, or rather, to enjoy delicious meals, it's better to live in a way you're not ashamed of—that kind of theme might be good to incorporate this time. But please wait a bit longer for the details.>>Can people who haven't seen the 1982 "Space Sheriff Gavan" still enjoy it?>Kuji: As I explained earlier, the base is that anyone can enjoy it without prior knowledge. That said, there are definitely a ton of Gavan lovers in the production staff and planning team, so in that sense, I think you'll enjoy seeing how that love and respect gets distilled into the work. Of course, you can enjoy it even if you don't know it.>>Are there themes inherited from "Space Sheriff Gavan"?>Kuji: Well, since we're not the staff who were involved back then, it's hard to say how much of the spirit we can carry, but at least it's made with love.>Shirakura: Don't hesitate.>>Who is the production staff for "Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity"?>Kuji: The main people handling it are centered around those who've been involved in Toei tokusatsu before, but how much this work will expand—I can't quite imagine it yet. At least in the producer team, there are people from various generations, some who know the old Gavan and some who don't, so it should become a work with diverse viewpoints.(11/?)
>>23751195>Shirakura: It's the follow-up to Super Sentai, but we're not thinking about completely changing it. Of course, we want to say "Project R.E.D. is here properly" so it doesn't feel lonely, but we also want developments unique to this project. Naturally, I think it'll become a masterpiece from here on.>>From Mr. Kuji's perspective, is Shirakura-san "Chou Gavai"?>Shirakura: More like, what does "Gavai" even mean in the first place?>Kuji: By the way, Shirakura-san is Gavai, but Chou Gavai is probably a bit further ahead—or rather, something that's hard for everyone to find. So whether Shirakura-san is Chou Gavai is still unknown. What does it mean? The meaning is unclear. Sorry, I hadn't thought about this question. What is it?>>Kuji-san, right now, what's the ratio between "Bakuage" and "Chou Gavai"?>Kuji: But I think Chou Gavai and Bakuage stand side by side. It's Bakuage for Chou Gavai, but gradually, there are people who have no idea what we're saying. Just a bit, in producer meetings, when we said "Bakuage", it landed okay, but when we said "Gavai," it kinda fell flat. So we'll try a little harder.>>What do you think is the "Gavai" of Toei tokusatsu?>Shirakura: What should we do? It'd be great if we had a clear definition of Gavai. Gavai is better than Gabagaba, right? Lately, our budgets have been kinda gabagaba (loose/shaky). I want it to feel more gavai. It'd be nice if you all use it. I have no idea what it means. What was funny about Bakuage was, Kuji here has this pretty deadpan character, right? When he says "Bakuage" in that flat tone, it's hilarious—in meetings, everyone thought so. Then Boonboomger started airing, and Iuchi's acting as Taiya is all "Bakuage", and everyone started saying it from his side. I imagined it was some torture-level vibe, but nope—turns out everyone's pretty cool, like Kuji's character. I still don't really get the definition of "Gavai". But I'm sure it'll make sense once you watch the main show.(12/?)
>>23751198>Kuji: You'll get it when you watch the show. You'll understand once you see it.>Shirakura: Is that how Fuji (TV) talks these days, or totally different? I bet people want it explained as "Gavai" or whatever.>Kuji: Feel it. That's exactly right.>Shirakura: Feel it.>Kuji: I want Shirakura-san to use it.>Shirakura: Me?>Kuji: Please do.>Shirakura: Lately, things have been a bit gavai, you know? My legs and hips are feeling gavai.>Kuji: Use it in a good way, please! >Shirakura: When I exercise, my body gets gavai, but...>Kuji: That's the good kind.>Shirakura: When I go full Edo-kko (old-school Tokyo guy), it turns into a "gabbeh">Kuji: Got it.>Shirakura: It starts getting a bit baba (worn-out).>Kuji: We'll think of more variations.>>Is the "Super Sentai series" ending?>Shirakura: I don't think of the Super Sentai series as ending—more like going on hiatus. We've hit the 50th anniversary, sure, but keep making One-Number-Zero (like 51st, 52nd) forever? I feel like that's not quite right. So at this point, for Toei, for the world, for the fans, and for us producers too, we absolutely need a chance to step back and rethink what Super Sentai really is. There are things like "eternal series"—Rider has them too, but Sentai is even easier to make into V-Cinema or TTFC specials. Lately, or last year especially, it felt like they were overflowing. In the world, there are things that are "nice to have" versus things you "can't live without". They seem similar, but they're actually quite different. Sentai started feeling like "of course it exists", and "eternals are a given too". To recheck Sentai's value, we can't let it become "of course it continues every year". If we do, Sentai's value drops—that's my honest take. It'll definitely come back stronger someday, but we need a generation that rebuilds Sentai from an objective view, not just diving in deep. That's how I feel.(13/?)
>>23751200>>Why didn't they promote No.1 Sentai Gozyuger at launch as "the final Super Sentai" (before hiatus)?>Shirakura: Because the follow-up show wasn't decided yet. We thought, "Okay, 50th is hiatus for Sentai". What next? TBD. That'd make everyone anxious—staff too, and viewers.>>What can we expect for Super Sentai series developments on TTFC going forward?>Shirakura: Anything?>Kuji: We're doing manga and stuff. In that sense, we're collaborating with TTS on audio content too, with some consultation. We didn't want fans who just got into it to have supply cut off suddenly, so we thought, "What can we do?" Personally, I like manga, so if it's a challenge worth trying, let's go. We always appreciate the support.>Shirakura: By the way, what form exactly? Fully here?>Kuji: We released digital manga even during broadcast—on the day before, back then. This time, it's post-finale, like a story slotted between the end and the VS movie that only existed in Tomioka-san's head. Felt like a waste, so we asked them to release it and turned it into a manga.>Shirakura: Not just "make it a manga", but something that would've been scrapped otherwise, so we properly shaped it into manga form. That's essential, right? For sure.>Kuji: Thank you.>Shirakura: Once that's done, check out the Sanseater arc too.>Kuji: Thank you. The Sanseater arc was teased a bit during the final live event.>Shirakura: We put out novelize novelizations. Oh yeah. Get into it. Dang, I extended it too much. Slipped up.>Kuji: Such amazing fan service!(14/?)
>>23751202>>What's the essence of the Super Sentai series?>Kuji: When I think about Super Sentai seasons, there are of course all sorts of appeals, but one big one is how colorful and vibrant they are—pictures packed with colors that are just fun, of course. But more than that, it's those moments where everyone gets hyped together, you know? It's structured in a way that really gets everyone enjoying it as a group. TV is something you might watch alone at the time, sure, but the real fun comes afterward—talking about "That was like this, right? And that happened!" Or looking forward to next week. Sentai definitely had that power to make those times enjoyable. That said, I wonder if that’s something only Sentai can do, or if there's a better way to deliver it in today’s world—something that feels even more satisfying now. I hope they keep thinking about that. Thanks for everything so far, and please keep it up!>Shirakura: Sentai is what drew attention to Toei as a company for me— heck, it’s what made me roll right into Toei. It's shaped my entire career, basically. Even now, watching something like the currently airing Gozyuger, I'm genuinely blown away thinking, "These people can make stuff like this?" It makes me reflect hard on the current state of Toei in the world. I think it’s top-tier entertainment— something the world has changed so much that it’s frustrating to see it taken for granted. It's like, "Japanese entertainment? Right here!" >>Is there a chance to do a second season of a popular work on TTFC? >Shirakura: It'd be great if we could. Even if it's like saying the TV broadcast of season 1 was just a trial run.>>If you hadn't become a Toei producer, what would you be doing? >Shirakura: A hero fan. >Kuji: Maybe a Sentai fan? Though you might say it’s a tough image. (15/?)
>>23751205>Shirakura: Probably something in computers. I'm a liberal arts type, not STEM, so not quite cut out for engineering. I'd probably be slogging away in sales, feeling down about it. Back during job hunting and interviews, everything outside Toei was computer-related. >>Really? That’s impressive. Not other entertainment industries? What would you even do there?>Kuji: Way computers or something— that's some intense stuff.>Shirakura: It's not like I was super knowledgeable about computers. It was a student-era hobby, mixed with entertainment. Computer stuff or entertainment stuff— hobby in one, job in the other, either way. But when it came to entertainment, at the time, Toei was the only one I cared about.>Kuji: You could've decided after joining Toei, right? How was it?>Shirakura: Was it good or bad?>>Which character from which work do you think is most like your personality? >Shirakura: A character like me? Probably a villain. Actually no, no, no, I'm kinda too skinny for that. But then again still has a bit of charm, you know? So Yeah, that's it.>>One kanji character to represent Toei tokusatsu in 2025 and the coming 2026? >Shirakura: For Toei tokusatsu in 2025, one character: "Special" —a truly special year for tokusatsu. And 2026...>Kuji: "Super"— as in surpassing everything. All sorts of things, by superhumans.>Shirakura: Super exciting! Chou Gavai-type!>>Can we keep believing in Toei tokusatsu in 2026 too? Yes, hai, or onegai! >Kuji: Ready... >Both: "Yes!" (said in english) (16/16)
Aiming to Surpass His Past Self and Create "A New History of Gavan" – Interview with Kouhei Nagata as Gavan Infinity / Reiji Doki in Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity: https://www.animatetimes.com/news/details.php?id=1770274578 Building a "New Gavan" for the Modern Era>>Please tell us your feelings when you were chosen as the lead in Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity.>Kouhei Nagata (as Gavan Infinity / Reiji Doki; hereafter Nagata): When my casting was confirmed after the audition, I felt that this wasn't just about inheriting the storied image of "Gavan" from the past, but a project to construct a "new Gavan" for the modern era. Since I myself admired Gavan's visuals and worldview, there was pressure and responsibility to surpass them. But even more than that, I have high expectations for how the story will unfold and its future possibilities. Whenever I accomplish something, I always have the mindset of "Let's create something new with our own hands". With that challenge in mind, I'm approaching daily filming in hopes of delivering the work to everyone in the best possible form. I'm personally excited to see how this work will turn out and how it will be received.>>What charms do you find in this grand-scale work?>Nagata: I think the fact that so much remains unknown is a huge appeal of this work. It features the multiverse (Cosmo Layer) concept, and the protagonist Reiji will strive across different-dimensional Earths. Even from reading the scripts, I strongly felt the massive scale of a story that spans not just one Earth but various worlds on a cosmic level. We actors don't fully know how the story will unfold either, but rather than anxiety, I'm mostly excited. The seniors are very kind, and on set, we actors communicate closely to shape everything together.(1/?)
>>23751209"It's Seriously Super Cool!">>Reiji feels like a character with strong justice and honesty toward his "anger." What do you keep in mind when portraying him?>Nagata: I'm conscious not to get too fixated on the emotion of "anger". Rather than just showing emotions outwardly, I think it's important to be natural first. On top of that, I aim to express emotions that arise naturally and the atmosphere unique to tokusatsu. "Anger" isn't self-centered; it can naturally include "getting angry for someone else's sake" by empathizing with others. So when acting, I start by understanding that person's feelings. I believe Reiji's life experiences up to becoming Gavan form the foundation of those emotions. Also, toward enemies, I don't see them merely as "things to eliminate", but infuse my performance with a sense of questioning like "Is that okay?" or "Don't stray from the path". I'm conscious of the nuance of facing the opponent straightforwardly as a fellow human, without prejudging them as enemies.>>Reiji seems impulsive at first glance, but actually observes his surroundings carefully before acting.>Nagata: A wider field of view is better, but I feel there's no need to flaunt it obviously. Even if he understands everything, he deliberately doesn't show that part. Even if it's a "judgment because he sees it", I act without overexposing "what he sees." I'm happy if that subtlety comes across naturally through the footage.(2/?)
>>23751213>>There must be unique expressions from Director Fukuzawa. What kind of discussions did you have with him?>Nagata: With Director Fukuzawa (Hirofumi), we've had thorough discussions from the character's overall image to minute inner settings. We talked about making Reiji's anger and impulses before transformation connect seamlessly to his movements after. That's a major highlight, and I'm conscious of letting Reiji's emotions flow naturally in my performance. To that end, I'm communicating closely with suit actor Shigeki Ito. I learn from his movements, and I make suggestions like "I want to move like this here" considering ad-libs. It's truly grateful to have an environment where we confirm each other's intentions—such a warm set.>>Even in action scenes, the emotions of the moment are solidly conveyed.>Nagata: Yes. I'm always conscious of what emotions Reiji reaches during deposition or mid-action. Past works are genuinely cool, making me think "I want to do that too", but this time, I'm layering my own emotions on top to convey that intensity to viewers.>>What are your impressions of Gavan Infinity's suit and design?>Nagata: It's seriously super cool! On set, I got to see the suit from various angles, and it's cool no matter the viewpoint. Especially the light reflections unique to Metal Heroes are amazing—it looks great in morning, daytime, or night scenes. I'm not from the generation when Metal Hero series aired, but through this shoot, I've rediscovered their appeal. I also saw up close how the lighting staff pours their heart into making it shine beautifully, so I think the footage will turn out top-notch.(3/?)
>>23751214Surpassing His Past Self>>From episode 1, it spans multiple Earths. Any points that particularly impressed you?Nagata: As the story's start, each episode properly sets up hooks like "What happens next?" to draw viewers in. Of course, pay attention to the action, but also the strong story pulls. Also, keep an eye on the Emorgear "Gekido". I don't know how it looks on screen, but from behind during D-Jump (dimensional transcendence), its butt jiggles cutely—very adorable.>>Tell us about the appeal of Colonel, a member of Multiverse Earth A0073, and his assistant AGI.>Nagata: Colonel is my same-period peer and the best partner for casual chats. His presence enables us to overcome hardships together; he's indispensable to Reiji. AGI is an autonomous AI created by Colonel, but to me, it somehow has Colonel's "quirks" (laughs). Including her appearance and speech, I get the impression she's "under Colonel's influence". >>(Laughs).>Nagata: Their usual interactions are fun in a "Here they go again" way. They create a relaxed atmosphere. Reiji has a heavy past and sometimes broods alone, but these comrades help him stay calm or find salvation. Amid serious battles, the comedic elements and warm exchanges are a big charm of this work.>>In terms of harmony, characters like Rikiya Wanibuchi and Patran are also memorable.>Nagata: Those two... are really no good (laughs). But they're great characters. Things born from their presence are real. As peers, they're undoubtedly precious comrades. How Reiji's bonds with comrades are depicted is a vital element. In acting, I treasure the emotional shifts born from interactions with them.(4/5)
>>23751215>>In line with the theme of "surpassing", what do you personally want to overcome through this work?>Nagata: In terms of visual expression and my own experience, I want to keep challenging new realms. This time, I got opportunities for wire action and other techniques beyond my past career. At first, it was all trial and error, but trusting the staff, we're tackling it as a team. Holding onto the feeling of "surpassing my past self", I want to create a new history of Gavan together with the top staff and cast.(5/5)
>>23751176>>kiss ass>Dairanger, a show Shirakura was barely involved in because he was an assistant producer >Hibiki, a show Shirakura had to take over where almost every creative aspect of it wasn't made by him>The First, a movie Shirakura was barely involved in because he was working on Kabuto Anon Kuji is very clearly subtly dissing him>>23751184>Shirakura: We're not doing global rollout yet, but I expect it to become that universally appealingWait so we're indeed not getting official english subs? Has anyone talked with Over-Time about this? >>23751215>its butt jiggles cutely—very adorable. So that's the reason why they have their butts exposed, feels like weird pointless aspect of the batteries designs

>>23751169>Dairanger>HibikiWhy are Kuji's favorite shows the two really experimental seasons with fantastic action that have some of the worst finales in their respective franchises?
>>23751218>Dairanger, a show Shirakura was barely involved in because he was an assistant producerWhich again emphasizes his outsized influenced despite being an AP. Much like how Shirakura wants to take credit for making Daizyujin the face of Super Sentai robos.>Hibiki, a show Shirakura had to take over where almost every creative aspect of it wasn't made by himThe official kiss ass party line is that he salvaged the second half from the mess made by the previous creative team and that Inoue and Shirakura put their personal creative stamp on Hibiki. This is just going along with the "genius" of Shirakura as a producer. Likewise with him praising the First. If he wanted to be more obvious, he'd say Kiriya was the best character in Hibiki.
>>23751232Wasn't the only thing Shirakura did in The First assign Inoue as head writer then the rest was handled by Takeyuki Suzuki?
>>23751232>>23751218You two are reading way too much into it, Kuji had talked about Hibiki being his favorite toku before this interviewKuji is producer himself so he understands that Shirakura wasn't that involved, he's just honestly stating that the shows that he liked the most with Shirakura's involvement were the ones that weren't headed by him
>>23751114Isn't it unusual to release the full version this early?https://youtu.be/UEquvZ9SHUI
>>23751114>>23751245OP theme is a banger, reminds me a bit of Kaguya-sama OP themes for some reasonHopefully the video is good
Project R.E.D. sex with Rui!
>>23751220the yen is currently super weak making trips more affordable, and I was also talking about visiting japan during the final episode airing. You might have seen my posts last week.
Fun fact: The “Yaada” (“Don’t want”) Emorgear is actually based on Fuuma’s Rare Beast Yaada (same name) in Shaider
Has Over-Time commented on whether they'll be subbing Gavan? It doesn't seem like they will be releasing english subs so far considering what Shirakura said and Shout not saying anything despite posting an english subbed teaser
>>23751273I'd hold off on that. Apparently there's a lot of jeets in Japan now.
>>23751114>>23751245>Cover using Gavan Infinity as character instead the show logo for international releaseYeah, this kinda prove Hasbro had something with the international release of Sentai songs
>>23751294How?
>>23751245What is Japan's fixation with putting "love" in all of their songs. It could be a Yakuza gangsters TV show and the lyrics would still have "love" in there somewhere.Anyway, this is pretty god-awful.
>>23751302I know he's getting up there in years, but why didn't they hired Kussy?
>>23751303all the showa era singers' time has passed. you must move on from them
>>23751298Because Toei is using a character instead of a blank background and the logo. In the case of Sentai, ANY of its characters fall under the Saban/Hasbro contract. Yes, even the unadapted
>>23751302Why are you so pissed off about a word? >>23751309>>23751294Except that they don't, every single for the OP and the covers for every OST does feature at least the red rangerYou're confused about the re-releases which are the blank backgrounds you're referring to

>>23751311NTA, okay but now link to an actual overseas release of a sentai soundtrack and not a japan only physical release.https://www.amazon.com/SENTAI-GOZYUGER-Music-Collection-Vol/dp/B0DWFMZ1GG>MAR 16 2025https://music.amazon.co.jp/albums/B0DWFP4ZV1>MAR 16 2025
>>23751321I stand corrected, I never question why every OST in Spotify was this blank background so I guess this is probably whyBut we don't know yet if Project R.E.D. will be like this because the theme hasn't released internationally yet, but I assume it's as you say
>>23751154Yo
>>23751290Neat didn't know that
Gavan Infinity latin american sub next week
>>23751348So Gavan Infinity as a whole is releasing a week late unlike Zeztz which releases the same day?
This is gonna be a gavantastic day
>>23751352It was supposed to be simulcast but Toei didn't send the episode in time.
>>23751172>as they kept attaching the armor pieces on the ground, my kid started crying.>>Shirakura: Did he look like he was being tortured or something.>>Kuji: "Lead-chan turned into a robot!" Bandai was right there, but they stopped on the spot since they weren't trying to sell robots by making a kid cry. So someone else got in.That's cute
>>23751307You say that, but its most likely they will hire him for an insert down the line. That or use May'n for remixes of the original OP and Chase! Gavan.
Is gavan getting subs on YouTube like zeztz?
>>23751290>unironically calling it emorgear still Is this some weird bait?
Now we have two Kamen Rider shows
>>23751387Hopefully Gavan wont be a snoozefest like Zeztz.
I know we're talking about Gavan,But in Shinkenger, Did Doukoku really keep Dayu around only because of her music or was it deeper than that? This'll make me sound like a shipper but on a current rewatch it really feels like Doukoku has some kind of attraction to her but can't express it normally because he's a creature born from the Sanzu river.
>>23751387You sure love repeating this statement
>>23751391The vibe I always got is that he sees her at the very least as part of his family, and her music was a part of said home, it could also be interpreted as romantic but they all are inhuman monstersBut I don't know if the staff every gave any real answer>I know we're talking about GavanAnon you can discuss Sentai normally, this general isn't just about Project R.E.D.
>>23750936Niggas say shit like this but here we are awaiting the premiere of Gavan 3.0 because Gavan 2.0 worked out so well.
>>23751399Toei did all that work and crossover shit to set up I guess Gavan and Metal Heroes returning as movie serials only for jack shit to come of it.The company is a real mess.
>>23751399What's your obsession with Shirakura and Trump? Don't invoke /pol/ shit here unless they're actually funny like the Abe posts during Build

>>23751218>>Dairanger, a show Shirakura was barely involved in because he was an assistant producerHe's still very proud about it in interviews.
>>23751394Honestly I think it was kind of desire to posess her, but he had grown past her rejections, However when she deicded to give up her life for him, He did value her sacrifice, it's a small moment that gave him a lot of character. Also I finished, Gozyuger...Man I really fucking hope Project R.E.D Dies quickly, Ending Sentai on that note is just depressing.
>>23751302Man, Anon-kun. I have NO IDEA why the show, that has its powers based around emotions, would have a theme song titled love is the strongest. It is an absolute mystery and we may never solve it.....

GAVAN INFINITY TIME!
There's 5 of them
Makuu...
Reminds me of King-Ohger's castle
Cool mech space fighting
Fighting in normal civilian form, that's good.
guess I'll wait for someone to sub Gavan, fuck you toei

Guess we're getting the OP visuals next week
The Commander reminds me of Captain Ryuya…
>He just straight up talks like DIOHell yeah
Already getting an insert? Cool

Welcome to Pink EarthAlso a showa style eyecatch
Is that a movie about Kumade's past?
>that eyecatch soundGave me nostalgia, wish it had paintings like the oirginal
>>23751669The movie is the VS between Gozyuger and Boonboomger that will conclude Sentai's history for now, written by the guy that did Revue Starlight and Cross AngeThe Kumade thing is a prequel mini-series of Gozyuger focused on him written by the writer of Ultraman Dyna and the Gridman Anime
>Agi ni Omakase
I'm guessing Pink Earth is Bushido's haunt
>>23751673And both will be overall better then Gozyuger itself

So the monsters are over-charged Emorgears?
I feel like I'll be able to get into Gavan's Infinity speech but there's no build-up for it. Also, that Laser Blade theme doesn't do much for me.
oh so the emorgears spawn monsters, I thought they'd turn the users into monsters
Okay, love the explanation of the JOUCHAKU
cool sword finisher
Already better than all of Gozyu
Even the finisher is similar to Avataro Slash
>>23751704Feels more like real hero toku then pretty much most of Gozyuger at this point
>>23751702Reminds me of Donbrothers which is good >>23751704Stop doing hyperbole

>>23751709The red can actIt WILL be better than Gozyuger
How was Gavan Infinity's premiere?
The EmoLgear are pretty cute
Pacing was a bit too fast for me but overall solid start and a good directional debut for Fukuzawa, still prefer Sakamoto but I'm excited to see Fukuzawa direct more in the future
We're totally getting an episode of a Gavan's emorgear creating a monster
>We stop the Winter Olympics to present Precure, Kamen Rider and GavanHoly kino
>>23751712Pretty cool overall
>>23751712bretty good
>>23751712Pretty good.
>>23751712Really solid, Reiji isn't a generic red, the worldview is interesting, the action is fantastic, the direction was good although not amazing, the OST goes surprisingly hard considering who's doing the musicMy only real issue was that the pacing was a bit too fast and that AGI doesn't turn into a bird
>>23751697The theme could use a little more oomph.
>>23751712Decent but I hope they let things breathe, the pacing was pretty breakneck.
>>23751639yeah that's Koto second from left I guess

Infinity looks neat but I worry that the premise is a little too "kitchen sink" for its own good. OG Gavan was a pretty simple setup and we have Ultraman Blazar to show that you can make simple work in modern day.
Reiji reminded me of Taiya.
>>23751712In terms of Reiwa Sentai debutsKing-Ohger > Gozyuger > Gavan Infinity > Donbrothers > Boonboomger > Zenkaiger > KiramagerBut I find it really difficult for this show to drop quality like Boonboomger because this seems more serialized making it harder for the writer to just leave, I feel like this show will be amazing but the whole "23 episode length" scares me a bit

>>23751726>>23751754>>23751755This is like when we learned about Kiramai Silver being Vram, but in reverse. Also, Ray Fujita is already a long-standing veteran, and now he's here to menace an entirely new (hopefully not stillborn) franchise.By the way, candy toy blog is still not updated. We'll never learn about the sussy baka Emorgears until when it comes out in fucking April. And the Project RED Gashapon website is still not open even after today's episode. In other words, wait for two fucking months.
>>23751757>here's the design of the set we made a decade ago, remake it>yes boss whatever you say
>>23751712Not the best for a franchise they desperately want to succeed, I've seen better intros for Sentai shows even in just the last few years. It gave me lots of Kyuranger and LuPat vibes.

>>23751817>last time that version of the suit even used
>>23751783Zeztz has glowing suits, however glowing suits isn't something Toei legitimately considers, the only reason Zeztz glows was because the director literally said "wouldn't it be cool if the suit glowed?" and since Zeztz is an unique situation where the director has more creative power they just did itIf Fukuzawa had decided to have a glowing suit they would have done it since he's seemingly a similar situation as Kami with Zeztz, but probably didn't since he has never done action for a show with glowing suits

>>23751843But there are multiple Gavans in one universe, what with that space station with multiple docked ships
>>23751828Spirit Evolution!

>>23751847From the looks of it so far, each one has their own but Infinity moved to Bushido's universe and Bushido doesn't seem to be aware of Infinity prior to that. If I understand correctly, Infinity's posted at the R&D department and is being berated as a "money sink" so it's more likely that the space station have other non-Gavan officers.Basically, Gavan is part of some sort of Men in Black / Area 51 department working in the shadows while connected to a bigger proper peace-keeping organization.

Why do people hate him again? Aside from the things he did for Hibiki, Decade, Amazons, Kyoryuger Brave and Zi-O he's mostly done good for the studio, I mean he's part of the reason why Kamen Rider and JAE are still alive yet I see several people giving death threats to him in the west when Japan only does it for 2chan, and in 2chan's case they wish death upon every Toei producer but TsukadaI just don't really get where this hatred comes from and why people act that he's the sole person responsible of Sentai dying and Gotchard's issues, even more so when those same people praise Donbrothers which was recent

>>23752589Zi-O was bad and Shirakura did a terrible job of justifying it being bad. That's it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a newfag or just straight up trying to lie to you, people didn't give a shit about what he did with Hibiki, Decade, or Amazons with anywhere near the vitriol they have now but when Zi-O aired it just triggered some small number of actual lunatics. You can use the archives to see how Shirakura obsession kicked off around Zi-O's airing. He went from just under 1200 mentions across 10 years of 4chan from 2009 to December 3rd of 2018—or about 120 mentions per year—to just over 6300 mentions from December 3rd of 2018 to today, or approximately 870+ times per year. For reference, that's more than the amount of times Shirakura was mentioned from June 27th 2009 to June 1st 2018. Every year there is a comparable 9 years' worth of pre-schizophrenia /krg/+/ssg/ Shirakura discourse now. >>23752546It's really weird seeing them all dressed normally.

>>23752680I assume he'll come back for something special like the summer movie, iirc didn't he implicitly say he isn't going to show up in Gavan Infinity
>>23752605He's the head of toku productions within Toei. He's absolutely responsible for cancelling Sentai for Gavan, the state of Rider productions whereby letting inexperienced hacks like MinatoP fuck up shows and giving Gozyuger to an inexperienced producer like Matsuura who unsurprisingly fucked it up with his HR choices. The buck stops at Shirakura. So he absolutely shoulders the blames for these things. If he doesn't want to get blamed, maybe he shouldn't have stepped up in the first place.

He's a fucking weasel.>and most of the issues with that setting were Minato's fault like him limiting Uchida's ideas for the settingThey should either have micromanaged Minato more (which they didnt) or they should have never promoted him to producer (again which they didn't). There's a lot of things he could have done and he didn't do them.
It's insane what one haircut can do
>>23752671No, it's trash.
>>23752697>They should either have micromanaged Minato moreThey don't because Toei has never really done that, look at Hibiki for example where they'd rather just fire the producer than micromanage, or shows like Dekaranger, ToQger and Zyuohger where executives picked the motif for the producers where they didn't do more than that, basically just asking the staff to "figure it out themselves"That's basically been the way of doing things since the late 90s because they want the staffs to have creative freedom for the most part, basically the reason why they even decided to pick Gotchard's setting was because of Minato's incompetence but at that point why even pick him as a producer? Like was it really because it was awkward telling him not to do the shiw after they just removed him from King-Ohger? Otherwise fair complaints
>>23752684>I can't help but feel that people act this way because they're newfags that don't get how things worked beforeIt's not a newfag thing, retard, interview translations just didn't get posted nearly as often back then as they do now. The reason why it ended up this way was because the Minato didn't come up with a setting himself which is not normal>Shirakura could've made the wise decision to back off and at least let Tsukada handle him if that was the case Fair but again Gotchard was the only time a Toei executive needed to intercept this way and the most of Gotchard issues later are Minato's fault like how he was constantly limiting the staff's ideas and not giving them any form form of direction as to how to handle Rinne>I don't know if you're aware of this, but Shirakura is one of those Toei execs you're complaining so much aboutExcept it wasn't a complain it was an explanation as to why it was done this way, this tactic used to work before just fine and being the one in most interviews doesn't suddenly excuse obsessing about him and blaming him everything>He also made the genius decision to not to tell him he was making the last fucking Sentai show until the production was halfway done.It was so that he wouldn't have as much pressure but to be fair to you he should have transferred someone experienced from another division rather than leaving it to a newbie, I get that it's the same methodology that Hikasa proposed of "leaving it to the young" but it's such a retarded tactic to do for the last season and I'm saying that as someone who thinks Matsuura is a good producer>>23752720But I did here >>23752705 and on other posts
>>23752714>I fucking bet you wouldn't have said any of the shit you're saying about "having always known how Toei works" if it weren't for interviews that came out less than 10 years ago, so don't come here whining about newfags like a fucking hypocrite.Anon whenever people used to posts interviews aside from the Amazons ragebait people didn't use it as an excuse to shitpost, more interviews getting translated doesn't suddenly make it OK to shitpost as much as possible to ruin these threads
>>23752718>>23752719Don't samefag because an anon called you out
>>23752737>>23752735Please stop replying to shitposters>>23752684>>23752729Please stop being schizophrenic and read those posts properly and slower
>>23752457I figured that was the case for this shows auditions
>>23752737Don't start calling yourself a samefag when you get owned, lmao. Very cowardly behavior.
Think Gavan green will be his won thing or based on another Metal Hero like G Raiya, if the latter then which?
How could Toei save themselves?
>>23752735Every complaint you don't like is a shitpost to you.
>>23752729>The reason why it ended up this way was because the Minato didn't come up with a setting himself which is not normal>Fair but again Gotchard was the only time a Toei executive needed to intercept this way Reminder that Minato didn't want to be a head producer in the first place, he wanted to stay as an AP but Shirakura and Tsukada came and picked him to produce the next Rider show.
>>23752747Most likely his own thing if he's indeed the Q2 hero and not just another unrelated Gavan, but if the latter I'm hoping for a Winspector/Gavan fusion>>23752760The Japanese government needs to make it easier to bypass the modified vehicle laws so that toku can get more vehicular combat, also make laws that make it easier to film but the latter is definitely not going to happen anytime soonThe yen getting more value so that more studios can make toku again to create competition and Toei can make more than two shows like in the old daysBandai needs to change executives but keep PLEX the same, problem is that I cannot think of an executive that would want to make cheaper poseable mecha the normBite the bullet and transfer Utsunomiya back to train the new generation since they don't really have one but sadly they won't do that because between all the shifts they now have way too many new producers, the oldest producer Takebe is getting pensionated in 5 years so she'll probably leave without training anybody but she's inconsistent so maybe that isn't a bad thing, Shirakura should also be getting pensionated in. 3 years, I like him as a producer but I trust Tsukada soloing the executive part far more, but I worry as to who could suceeed Tsukada since Omori isn't here anymoreSadly a big factor of the Toei being good future depends on Minato, Matsuura, Kuji and Yanaka learning from the mistakes of their first seasons and hoping that the other 4 new producers are good, at least Takijima went through the usual cycle of producer apprentice work and rather than being promoted quickly like Minato and Matsuura so I want to trust her but i just don't know if it'll work due to Mochizuki and kinda TakahashiAlso I wish these newbies producers weren't so smug where they try to hire new writers for theor first show due to wanting to be original when Shirakura, Tsukada, Takebe and Omori didn't, only Yanaka did this but Takahashi has been hired way too often lately
It was much better than modern Sentai, Metal Hero is fucking back.I like how we got a waifu robot like Juspion too.
What is the "Sun God" that he screamed out when finishing the kaijin there?
>>23752872We don't know yet, it was mentioned in his character bio too but it doesn't elaborate on what it is or if there's a religion
>mfw someone compared this to Dekaranger and reminded me that Dekaranger is 22 years oldLike I actually couldn't believe it but fuck
>>23752876There were two modern Dekaranger movies to find out how old the show is
