It "looks" in terms of fidelity about on par because they're spending millions of dollars incorrectly on rendering farms instead of intelligent art teams. I don't like Butsuda's approach to CG but he's still leagues past the OPLA team simply because he recognizes that exaggerated, fantastical things should not look or move like physical real things. Wapol moving slowly and practically vomiting out his big metal mouth is retarded and just draws more attention to things. The Japanese approach would be focused on a more set up to punchline format of whipping it out to save on render time and to avoid giving people time to notice all the imperfections in the modelwork, while giving a much more stylistic and exciting impact.It also doesn't help that One Piece is not designed for live action. A lot of tokusatsu designs you see are designed from recognition they're going to be physical suits with real people wearing them, with real lighting and real materials. As a result there's key shape language taken into account like proportions, color balance, and patterns. One Piece is full of spirals, rounded shapes, and the same kind of materials as sea shells and coral which just make things look lumpy or weird in live-action as opposed to how whimsical they can look in 2D art. Most tokusatsu you see use either sleeker, smoother curves or sharper geometric shapes focused on metallic or matte polymer textures with some more shiny/colorful materials to draw to key areas.Fire Candle, despite having a cheaper costume by a lower budget team, looks leagues better than any of the OPLA costume designs because Tamotsu Shinohara is an experienced costume designer who knows what works on a live action costume. And even then, when there's signs that adjustments need to be made (See Fire Candle's hair in the concept art), they adjust in real time to improve the design, something OPLA doesn't do.

How is Gavan Infinity so far? I wasn't particularly interested in most Sentai outside of some Donbrothers and Kingohger, and Gavan Infinity from the first three episodes just felt like Sentai with another name. Is it still just rebranded Sentai or is there anything inherently different yet?

>>23788154I think it's a difference in their overall franchise directions, though.Ultra reuses multiple monsters for a sense of continuity between shows which makes individual monsters more marketable and saves their suit budget as well as toy infrastructure by letting them reuse their stuff more.Toei's stuff is more constructed around the heroes and most of their kaijin are one and dones, designed more around the episode plots. It makes it so that Rider and Sentai have more novelty in between seasons and they stand out as more approachable as a result.Though it is odd that even generals tend to not get toys.

The movie even does a nod to the fact that they don't act cohesive at all when Gozyu Eagle, Polar, Tyranno, and Unicorn meets Boonpink, blue, and black at the first intro fight- This movie fills up a gap the gozyuger needed which was some cohesive teamwork lessons and more learning as a sentai team- The credit scene with the credit song was the most beautiful thing for me. It had all the team's henshin poses, main robos, individual robos too when they're separated, henshins that had explosions behind them, a lot of gokaiger scenes, ultimate robos, dance credits for sentais that has them,- made me appreciate that hoeru is perfect the way he is as a loner and not as some friendly guy- The final galaxy monster being some giant planet whom I assume is a mix of all of the enemy kingdom, but I couldn't tell since the scenes happen fast, but I love that ultimate move nod to every Sentai gattai's ultimate move being done.Cons- No ring changes, and the red ring's only usage was to power their punches against the no. 1 universe monster's barrier in which they all gave their red ring to hoeru

The movie could've been progressed without any of them since all of them just did very vague stuff and then said "good luck lol" to which the gozyugers end up finding a lesson anyway, their scene when they use their powered up forms is short-ended but it makes sense cause it's not a movie about them. just wish they at least combined their ults for a better ult move. Even a lot of my friends that came with me were wondering why Boukenred just basically asked them to do a short adventure and dipped immediately with no lesson, ZyuohEagle barely adding much other than "find my dog," and gokaired being super vague with his lessons and then aura farming by complimenting their fighting. They did stop the villain generals from their respective series.- Gozyu 2nicorn's green screen chromakey is noticeable on the big screen. But I've seen many notice it already. I was hoping for more, but like the recent G-rosso theatre show, it felt like they cut the budget by a lot. It's on me for expecting an anniversary movie, but this movie does a great job at making this a movie about gozyuger vs BBG.
>>23788543Final conclusion:I was really happy with this movie as a BBG vs gozyuger movie as it focuses entirely on the two team, and very little-to-no anniversary moments. I thought it would have more anniversaries moments, but instead we're short-ended with just small appearances (but still awesome to see them again, especially gokaired's fight scenes) and the amazing credit song which made me cry. If you ignore the anniversary part of the movie, it does a great job at creating some well-needed resolution the Gozyugers needed like why Hoeru is the way he is, and how they learn as a Super Sentai Team with the boonboomgers.
Next week we should be seeing what G-Raiya looks like right?
