Welcome to the Gunpla/Plamo General!

For those new, please read our guides. We have many resources available to help you in many different aspects of the hobby. They're here for you!

For the unclear, "plamo" is short for "plastic model". "Gunpla" is thus short for "Gundam plastic model". Many different kinds of models are built here, ranging from mecha to planes, cars, musume, you name it! If you're new, you're gonna screw up. Don't worry! If you're seasoned, don't make the newbies worry!

And don't forget to report shitposting and spam. The mods don't browse /m/ too often, so it's up to YOU to help keep our general clean and civil!

>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Be more specific, and try to provide clear images if you can.

>Why are my pictures sideways?
4chan strips EXIF data when images are uploaded, including the orientation tag if it's from your phone. To fix it save out your images separately, or use an app that will rotate and save the images for you.
One easy to use app that works well on Android:

At Mascot Anon's request, I'll repost his mascot request.

Good job everyone, Mascot anon here,
I will be opening the slot for mascot request now
this time, I will open 5 slot for sketching
of those 3, they will get full color version as well
To make a request, please suggest a creature and send in picture not used by Group Build Dude as a verification of participations.
The winner, Kaplayt, will automantically get the first priority in term of sketch and full color.
The request is open until the theme voting ends
if everything went right, i should be able to deliver when the result of the end of the next group is announced, and no further than annoucment of theme

As for portrait of Nyuren's pilot, I am still working on it, however, due to circumstance, I might not be able to upload it to here for at least 2 more weeks, and for this reason, I would like to apologize for the delay. If I can't deliver the portrait in time or in a way that can be given to you, I will included them along with the release of the next mascot

The hand-sized Millennium Falcon was honestly slightly tempting. I have a tiny Lego Slave I and having one might be neat as well if they have one. Are there any that are particularly outstanding? Something like the Star Destroyer is more iconic, but something dopey like the Tantive IV is a bit more unique

thinking back, what do you guy think is unicorn's flagship product?
The HG destroy mode kinda suck, the articulation is pretty old by hg standard, and its beam tonfa gimmick on the arm is barely functional, but the unicorn mode itself is beautiful.

I heard that the MG kinda suck too, but at the very least the RG can be consider a flagship product for the RG line itself, as I have best experience building it for all the kits I have, but even then, it took them awhile after the debut of the ova to actually get the RG kits.

I slept on it because the accessories looked too simplistic, but then I saw the first movie and it was sold out...
I do love how instead of battleships, some people have been recommending me stupid fatass lumbering giants that don't look like they can get airborne.. which is exactly the kind of shit that I like but forgot about when I was asking the question, since he was still in battleship mode. I love me my mobile armors and oversized mobile suits
Probably one of the most compelling reasons to get around to buying a Zock, come to think of it
>>
>>23982734
>Oh shit, does it hold up?
It's SD so it needs a ton of work if you want it to look perfect, but even just some panel lining and markers helps a lot. As a toy I think it's really fun to play with, one of my favorites. It's not battleship-like but I also love the BB Zeta for having a fun and almost complete transformation at such a small size.

Finally finished her. Even took a few breaks, cooked dinner and even had a few other distractions from when I started. It's actually comfy to do an easy build that can be done in one sitting after a bunch of long builds.

She's pretty cute. And now that I took pictures, I definitely missed quite a few nubs that needs some cleaning. Thankfully, her parts are easy enough to pick apart which I guess is by design since the whole 30MS line's gimmick is the customization and swappable stuff.
Honestly, she's so cute off the package that I don't feel too confident tweaking or painting her. She looks fine out the box and I feel like a fuckup is far more damaging to a bishoujo kit than a mecha kit. At least I can excuse mecha fuckups as battle damage. Unfortunately, I'm not into cripple moe.

everything was going smoothly, fit were all great, no real problems. put together three binders, all worked flawlessly. fourth binder went great too, tested the light, works, try to turn it off, felt a snag, yeah, it's just the O3 and O8 brace getting caught. applied some force, felt a crunch. one side of the LEDs didnt turn off.
there's ALWAYS that one thing that goes wrong. ALWAYS. i even ran out of solder doing one of my keyboards (nav cluster and numpad still in limbo).
guess gotta go to bunnings and get a roll of solder now. cant be bothered waiting a week from ebay.

Do you have any of these? Snip wire, tie the strands together nice and secure, apply heat so the solder melts onto the bare wire.

Should be getting some paints tomorrow so gonna try painting for the first time but while I want to learn, actually coming up with how to separate a kit into different colors is the hard part for me
How does something like this look?
Not sure whether to two tone the shoulder armors so one is done, one isn't and not sure about the legs and their armor.
Any feedbacks welcome
>>
>>23983191
>acrylics
Uh, you're going to have an awful time whether you airbrush or hand paint.
>>
>>23983191
I know you're painting a Thorn there. But I mainly build UC suits, so weirdly enough the GBO2 paint feature has been a massive help to visualize my color schemes. As for your own design, the two-tone shoulder isn't working for me. I do love the colors you've chosen. Also, the dark on the upper legs is awkward too. I usually like to go darker at the extremeties, and have white thighs
>>
>>23983199
You can get great results with brush painting acrylics, no idea where this meme comes from

>GBO2 paint feature has been a massive help
Oh that actually sounds like a good idea if I end up painting some UC suits, wouldn't have thought of that!
>two-tone shoulder isn't working for me
Yeah, the more I look at it it seems cluttered. In theory I thought it could work due to the panel line there but think I'd agree to do it all the darker shade!
>Darker at extremeties
I like that, I think that works better on the shield than I had originally to.
>Dark upper legs awkward & white thights
So something like this maybe? Thank you for the advice!
>>23983203
I'll be brush painting yeah, didn't want to fully invest in an airbrush yet
>>
>>23983216
>I'll be brush painting
I would strongly recommend getting a spray can primer then, it will alleviate a lot of paint in you're painting for the first time.
Also when it comes to planning out your color scheme, you can find easily bucket fillable lineart using the paste in in the op. For WfM pixiv is probably going to be the best bet

Yeah, but if it's some rando brand, you'd definitely want to test on some runners first. Some of them are too 'coarse' if that's the correct way to describe them - that you end up with not quite even texture since they clearly weren't thinking about people using them for small detailed objects like plamo.

Anon, you do realize that The Gundam is a literal midget when it comes to MS, right? OYW era MS are dwarfed by everything except Late UC, G and Wing. If you compare that thing to a Gryps or even CCA era MS, it's going to look far less out of place.

Still waiting for judgment day, whenever it is. To be more specific, if they will ever announce more Gunpla, along with the RG Project stuff. Again, just my wishful thinking, but they need to make a new Sandaime Gundam Daishogun soon. Took them a while to make this because it will be the second SDCS kit using 3D plastic stickers after the Banshee because of the five Jewels of Light in his chest and shoulder armor, and I bet they will add colored versions of the same jewels for the old Fuurinkazan kits to replace the LEGO stud jewels with.

It's not a bad line but I personally prefer regular model color for handpainting because mecha colors tend to be very thin, also tried their primer but I find it even worse than regular Vallejo primer.
One good thing about Mecha Color is that it has THE varnish for handpainting, it's very hard wearing, brushfriendly and you can safely use tamiya enamels on top of it, I use them for panel lining and small details and had no trouble directly using enamel thinner on top of the cured varnish

>>23984087
Yeah I heard they were pretty bad. I got the Metal Color Steel instead to maybe do some thrusters
>>
>>23984092
Black primer is ideal for anything metallic. Metallic looks flat if you paint it over gray usually. Gray is good if you want colors to come out more true to the color of the paint. Black primer is hard to cover with normal paints so it'll make them look a lot darker. This is a good thing though because it allows preshading.

Model color metallics work pretty good if you drybrush them.

Waterslide decals can be hilarious sometimes. You get ESL shit like this, and wikipedia tier word blobs that say the dumbest things when you actually pay attention and read them.

When you cut it put a drop of super glue at the end. It won't unwind right away but it will unwind eventually if you don't.
Guitar strings are actually meant to be cut. They're intentionally long because some guitars have longer scales than others.

Guitar strings are more or less solid. They are flexible though so you really don't need to put something inside of them. Just position it and set it. They don't really have any rigidity to them.

you can bend guitar string back and forth and it will eventually snap

As long as you don't sharply bend them they'll be fine. Even if you do, it'll just hold the shape and be worthless to play with. But you aren't going to be playing with them so it's okay.

This build... was ass...

I don't know what was going on with me while I was working on this thing, but something about this kit was fucking with my motivation bad. I know the tail is apparently a legendary pain in the ass, but that part eas actually ok, I kinda like the pseudo rachets that make the tail nice and strong.

Built up and with some parts glued in though I love it, it looks great. Just put a little bit of silver behind the eyes to make them not look so dead for now, may go through and pick out some detail on the red later, but for now I need to work on my mg stark jegan...

Tons of people I have spoken to when I ask myself that start with Vallejo watercolors.

When you want to get better just switch to acrylic and one of the name brands like Mr hobby or Tamiya but remember to send it get the center for it. Acrylic

When you're the most skilled get laquer I would say because lacquer dries like instantly and is messy but it looks tons better.

new to handpainting and well painting in general anon here again, finally getting around to it now i have everything snipped and sorted
i should definitely sand before priming right? highest i have that isnt a gunprimer balancer is 800grit, shouldnt be any issues there should there?
also, how long should i wait for the primer to dry before then painting. as mentioned it's Vallejo Mecha Primer and might add a touch of retarder to it
>>
>>23984580
I wouldn't stress too much about sanding; I never bother with a full surface sand, but I use lacquer primer. For Acrylic, give it 24hr after priming.

he just said, 3D printing
3D printing is its own ecosystem and basically any design that has appeared in a game is (relatively speaking) easily turned into a 3D printed model if you know what you're doing
People out there have of course already done this and you can just buy them but they just require looking in the right places
you can also just find people who do the next step and print them out for you and sell the prints to you
>>
>>23984654
I would have tried painting a few plastic spoons to get the technique down before going hog on a whole kit; but you're in it now, brother. Deep end. There's no way out but through. Like >>23984699 said, let a layer dry before adding another, my rule of thumb is to give it 2 hours; maybe you can speed that up with a hair dryer, but it's gonna take how long it takes. If it doesn't seem dry, it probably isn't. Another thing, try brushing in the opposite direction on the next coat. If you went vertical on coat 1, go horizontal on 2 and go back and forth between coats until you've got the coverage you want.

If you DO wind up going for spray primer, it's the same rules as topcoating; it will depend on the type of primer and where you do it, but 75% humidity is too much. All, I can say is maybe wait until dark when the temp drops, and the humidity goes with it.

You'll get through in the end, anon. Take solace in the knowledge that a slow to dry coat is giving itself plenty of time to level out. Good luck, take your time, be patient, and always test on spoons.

>doesnt it get more humid when temp drops?
Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. It's not worth trying. Humidity is humidity. If you're going to spray, you'd be best served figuring out a booth situation. Fuck living at the whims of the weather. But that's its own project. Just feel out hand-painting for now, and consider what you'd need to spray in the future. Painting is an exercise in patience. It'll almost ALWAYS take longer than you think it will, and there are always trade-offs to making it take less time. You got a food dehydrator by any chance? That'll help cure time, but it's an investment of money and space. Make the switch to lacquer, you're going to need PPE, and you're gonna need to work faster because the cure time is so much shorter. Nothing is perfect.

>>23984861
It's the same product. Mecha Color is supposedly made for airbrushing but not really
>>23984716
>2 hours between coats
What are you talking about? A couple of minutes between coats is fine, you just need the thin coat to be touch dry.

When you handbrush you need thin coats, you overloaded your brush there. Be more careful when loading paint on it, I'd suggest you brush your hand, if you can see the skin texture underneat the paint you are good to go.
You need to be especially careful when using handprimer as the paint will have much more trouble sticking to the surface, this is why acrylic polyurethane like Badger are superior

>>

A mistake I made is using a clear Action Base. Now the rings for the stand joint meant for the Gunpla cracked. But what sucks even more? They don't have the opaque bases. If I ever get the storage type ACB7, I will apply my last reflective sticker there.

>>
>>23984970
Honestly sucks because the AB7 is conceptually a great design but I've had the joints break so much. Definitely wouldn't be happening if they weren't pushing the limits of that clear plastic.
The AB8 has no issues despite being clear. Most of the other ABs I've had also have no issue being clear. They were all designed with good enough tolerances. Not the 7s though.
>>
>>23984974
Huh, I remember checking recently and it said it's in 4 days. My bad I guess
>>
>>23984914
For aerial 1/144 and grounded 1/100, I use these bad boys from Aliexpress (search "Action Figure Display Base").
The claw grip is detachable, revealing a peg that almost 3mm, so just a little bit of thickening and it's perfectly tight for gunpla. You can get 10 of those for 11€.
I don't do aerial poses for my 1/100 kits, so I can't comment on the best one, but AB1 works fine, even it's really ugly.
>>
>>23984917
>>23984944
What's the limit on AB 8 when it comes to master grades?
>>
>>23984994
Probably larger than life stuff like the ZZ, The O, Perfect Zeong, and while it may be smaller, the Turns for all the heavy stuff they can carry (especially Turn X's Bloody Siege gimmick). In fact, Action Bases 1 and 4 are necessary just to make the Moonlight Butterfly displays work, since the effect housing joints require certain peg joints included in the base kits (like the key for the chest panels on the Turn A, or the square block on the Turn X's included custom base arms).
>>
>>23985001
Interesting. Think I'll swap the AB for my Mk-V with that one.
>>
How important is removing seamlines between parts, really?
Every guide I see tells you to cut up parts in all sorts of ways and it all looks like the model will fall apart in a year.
I'm too squeamish to cut up small little parts into c-clips.
>>
>>23985012
Well, you can just turn some seams into panel lines, but that's not viable in some cases
>>
>>23985012
It's up to your aesthetic tastes. Sometimes they can look like panel lines, other times they actually disrupt the model's features. If you're really worried, avoid making major cuts into moving parts like joints. At the end of the day, no one can make you do anything you don't want to do with your models.
>>
>>23984914
AB-1 for MGs and AB-5 for 1/144s. AB-4 is way to creaky/bouncy for any decently sized MG.
AB-1s are also not event as good as they used to be, as they used to be ABS and not PS.
>>
>>23985012
It's okay to not go 100% with your customs, as long as you're satisfied with your own work that's all that matters.
>>
>>23985012
I don't bother with removing seamlines. It's not really an issue most of the time.

Build a Mecha or vehicle built by one faction, but change its aesthetics and style to its rival faction! Examples include but are not limited to
>Canon examples of mechs being stolen and used by another group (ie: Casval's Gundam, Feddie Zakus, Ashura Mazinger, etc)
>Designs intended for one faction that were repurposed into a design for another faction (ie: Gerbera Tetra)
>What-if scenarios (ie: A Titans color Zeta Gundam)
>Stylistic interpretation (ie: What would a EFF version of the Z'gok look like?)
When it comes to your build, really make it clear that your mecha is being used by the other side!

START: 8/16/26
END: 11/15/26

Send a description along with both WIP and Finished images of your build to gunplaplamo@gmail.com. Photo submission guidelines:

That just means a couple anons voted twice which is honestly expected

same here, I'm drawing a total blank for this one where I had at least a vague idea in mind for the other themes.

something being stolen is really just a difficult thing to depict in the model itself and not rely on other context. something being aquatic, armored up, repaired or made to look like a magical girl can all speak for themselves but I have no idea how I'd go about making something look stolen especially for a kit that either doesn't have any lore attached, or doesn't have lore I'm familiar with.

NTA but a tip i have for brush painting is to have a napkin/ papertowel that you dab off a good portion of the paint onto. Its a great way to properly load the brush because you really dont want a lot on it. Honestly dude, I would strip the whole thing and start over
>>

fuck you armored up would've been fun. I was either gonna make bootleg chobam armor out of 30MM option parts, or turn a RX-78-2 Ver.Ka into a Heavy Gundam

Yeah honestly I'm thinking the same. I don't have any IPA and some people say to soak it in there, some others say not to so I'm not sure. Would sanding it off just work as well?

Yeah, tried some of those third party decals before. They're pretty nice. And I'm not talking about the degenerate ones. Though the horny ones are pretty nice too.
Unfortunately, the preggo belly parts are a bit too much for me. You do you for your kinks, but I like my mecha musume battle-ready.

I think it's mostly a combination of megami device being a much older product line (10 years old at this point vs 5 for the oldest female FRS) and megami device being slightly more targeted at cumbrained retards out of box.

Armored up lost, but I wonder how good 3d printing is for making aftermarket armor panels and the like
Complex stuff like skeletons/joints are probably a bit wonky for 3d printing but I imagine it's advanced enough to print out good body panels to attach to kits... actually, that kinda makes me wonder if anyone's made a full 3D print for something versatile like an IBO skeleton. For the price of a cheap and readily available Barbatos kit you have a solid inner frame to work with.
>>
>>23985421
I imagine you could get a 3d scanner to scan your parts, model new parts, then use boolean operations to make them fit perfectly.
>>
>>23985421
Probably, people with 3D printers are printing all sorts of shit for their own purposes all the time if they're actually capable of any basic 3D modelling and not just using it solely for other people's work
You'll be working with resin though for quality prints so it's going to need some different tools than gunpla, it's not particularly harder but there's just fundamental differences of what you can use or not.
Personally I like actually gluing and sanding and handsculpting parts too much to do a lot of 3D printing but honestly you can do pretty much anything you can imagine with it if your 3D modelling skillset is good enough.
>>

>>23985428
Resin runs finer details but honestly for the vast majority of mobile suit designs I think a good filament would probably still be able to capture enough.
I pulled this up doing some basic google research and I think this level of detail is more than enough for gunpla - again, you'd just use a pre-existing inner frame (e.g. IBO) so the kit is posable, with your prints being all the exterior armor pieces.
Obviously it requires someone with far more 3D modeling skills than I have but it doesn't seem like it'd be that far out of the realm of possibility. Probably the biggest argument against it would be that Bandai wouldn't be happy about you profiting off of it.

High quality FDM is usually a much more expensive printer than high quality resin of the same size
I dunno I haven't messed with much FDM printing, I know it has gotten better but I just can't speak too much to something I haven't experienced. It's not like there's really anything too complicated about resin. You have to worry a bit about fumes is all, there are solutions but depending on your situation that might be annoying to deal with.
>Bandai wouldn't be happy about you profiting off it
Of course not, but there is a line where if you're designing shit yourself and not calling it Gundam they can't do much about it. Tons of etsy sellers go under the radar selling 3D prints of designs, plenty of dudes are selling .stls made from models out of GBO2 etc (that's where the Armored GM etc anon has came from I'm pretty sure) all of which they can probably get a C&D for but it's not like they're making oodles of money or are a big competitor, most of these are single man operations making a little extra money from their printer rather than any kinda high volume business in my experience. On the JP side there are a lot of modellers making entirely their own sculpts and renditions of designs, especially larger 1/35ths etc and that's apparently fine on their home turf. Minigames/40k stuff is a lot more widespread and it's the same axiom there, you can't just copy a sculpt or call them Sisters of Battle but you can make and sell something you've made that isn't directly stealing or claiming involvement with the IP without issue. Even if it's intentionally for a frame, third party stuff is fine. You might get in hot water if you 1:1 copy lineart and get it too accurate, but also only if you get big enough.
Moral opinion time but they have every right to hold the hammer, make your own robot designs to make money off of. It's that easy. Gundam doesn't hold a monopoly on cool robots.

Gundam works amazing for it because almost everyone knows the lore basics and what MS are with what broad faction so you can buy a Zaku and paint it white with a crest and everyone knows its stolen
No one actually knows who the fuck the factions are in MaK and their styles are not nearly so distinct as other settings.
Outside of Gundam 40k stuff can be pretty easy for "stolen." Chaos-corruption works for it off the top of my head but also there's plenty of other concepts. Orks stealing shit. Tau's Guelah. So many distinct aesthetics you can apply from one to the other there.
Battletech is another one, stealing mechs is a huge part of things there. It's all the same across settings, but Gundam's the one where everyone here knows which team the GM is on and which team the Zaku is on.

When talking about something completely original, I've spitballed some stuff but the fundamentals of stolen mecha I think can be distilled down to:
1) being repainted to the new side's colours, so maybe showing some old scheme showing or being mid-repaint or using equipment still in the old scheme
2) field modified to use standardized parts for repairs. Lotsa settings can be simplified to the rounded guys vs the blocky armour guys. Have an obvious mesh of those where you can tell some parts are modifications. Even if you know nothing about Zakus or GMs, if you saw a Zaku with a GM head on it you'd probably immediately think that element doesn't fit right. Go for that.
3) overhaul, good luck portraying this on its own. If you see the Gerbera Tetra you can't work out it was originally a Gundam without also seeing the GP04 and/or being told. My best suggestion here is to make two custom models, the not-GP04 and not-Gerbera Tetra so you can showcase the actual changes your imaginary faction did to it.

Or just describe it in the accompanying text that's honestly fine too
>>
>>23985599
>using equipment still in the old scheme
I feel like using new equipment would make more sense
You stole the Zaku but the heat hawk broke in combat and you can't exactly replace it, so the Zaku has a federation beam saber now. You also ran out of 120mm ammo (the Federation uses 100mm ammo) so you've replaced the Zaku's MG with the classic Federation MG-100. I doubt a stolen Zaku would be able to use the 120mm MG for very long, and a stolen GM would also probably run out of 100mm ammo and be swapped over to a Zeon 120mm MG relatively soon after being captured.
>>
>>23985619
I was thinking more along the immediate lines of a stolen mech, say you just got it and and need to quick and dirty make it identifiable as a friendly so it gets the main body repainted but maybe the shield and guns don't, or something like the Ground Gundam's backpack
I dunno, shit you'd skip precisely because it's probably gonna have a limited lifespan and isn't necessary. If you really ran with this idea you might have stuff like the extremities in the old colours with just the main body "lazily" painted in faction compliant colours

I know what you mean but that's like, field campaign stuff. Like you just nabbed it and you need to fight your way out and there's no FOB or any sort of way to refit it.
I guess if it's a setting with standardized weapons (e.g. Battletech) or weapons with infinite ammo (e.g. Beam Rifles) you'd keep the weapons the mech came with but if you have any sort of factional weapon variety swapping out for the weapons your supply line supports would be one of the first things you do and would probably help support the stolen look (although I guess it's subtler and requires some setting knowledge)
If we're getting into that though I don't even know that you'd properly repaint the mech - you'd just slap your faction's emblem over the existing ones/in visible locations because your goal is basically just to make sure your allies don't shoot you in the back because you look like an enemy.

>>23985638
If you capture a Zaku II as a Feddie early enough, you don't have a gun to give it by many canons of the OYW for a while and in general stealing ammo from Zeons who have more of it in production for most of the war involving MS isn't a bad way to deal.
And yeah it's field campaign stuff, but that's what happens if you capture something and are in a situation where fielding it on capture is reasonable. Which is cool shit and what I think lotsa people imagine with stolen scenarios. Gundam does em all the time anyway.
Different people have different solutions for stuff IRL and different settings can have all sorts, I don't think there's any one way to skin this cat. An emblem, a flag, a sign that says don't shoot it's salvaged, repainting parts, whatever. There's no universal rule, that's where creativity has to come in of course.

Does anyone here know how of a (water-based) acrylic equivalent to Tamiya's Titanium Gold?
>>
>>23986040
The Vallejo Metal Colours are pretty decent, I don't know if it'll be an exact match but as water based acrylics go they're some of the best I've ever used. Just make sure it's specially their Metal Colour line, they have several other lines and paints with similar names but Vallejo Metal Colour is the specific branding of the good shit.
>>
So much pessimism over stolen. I get it's supposed to be a factional thing but you could go for an out of universe angle. Gcucks Char goes through the time portal and ends up in 1990s America and the crips steal his MS and paint it blue and cover it in graffiti.
>>
>>23986049
Charaznable got his birthright stolen so we can just do any Char suit.
>>
>>23986049
Stolen is like a craftman's tools, it's only as good as the craftsman is.
>>
>>23986049
People just like to bitch unfortunately. Also, thats actually a pretty fun idea anon. I was thinking about a puppet master type build where a creature steals a active mech from a battle and controls it while the pilot is stuck inside
>>
>>23986044
NTA but while Vallejo Metal Color is THE best acrylic metallics line, their gold is rather desaturated. However, their newest True Metallic Metal "Imperial Gold" is quite good and really nicely saturated. Personally I consider TTC "Dragons Gold" to be excellent and my favourite acrylic gold, it's also quite expensive and as such, not really suitable for airbrushing.

>>
>>23986067
pretty sure the story's translated out there if you wanna read it, a friend translated it for me ages and ages ago. It's not that interesting but it's neat.
Unfortunately we don't see Regenerate do half the things it's capable of and the other MS with the system barely show off its ability to control MS either. Testament probably gets the most showcase of any of the virus spreading MS and it just uses it to delete itself from sensors rather than control things. Basically MS puppeteering almost never happens to any satisfying degree which is a shame because obviously it's cool as fuck

Most ridiculous kit I've ever built, why is this thing the most raped zako across all of gundam?
>>
>>23985838
Not sure how you went about it, but it looks like you might have sanded parts individually rather than cementing them together first. If you do that, it'll round off the corner that's supposed to meet up with the matching piece to form a continuous surface, and you'll end up with a deep seam between them like on the arm there. If you cement them together first and then sand, you can make the seam almost disappear. If you try this with another kit, don't use super glue, it's harder than the model plastic and will end up creating a ridge where the parts meet.
>>
>>23984251
when even bootleggers don't reprint them that often, it shows how low demand is for 2ndary and tertiary designs.

Meanwhile, here's number 10000 of 3rd party companies just copying each other with yet another Nu/hi-nu/barbatos/strikefreedom/astray/exia variant.

Mr.color makes aqueous versions of chars colors but they're slightly more desaturated. Years ago I did another casvals gundam out of the 2.0. I also did it entirely with paint brushes since I didn't own an airbrush yet.
For the record, aqueous hobby color paints will work with vallejo thinner and retarder very well.
>>
Also I did the core fighter and forgot to put it in the photo
>>
>>23986383
I only do brushpainting so I'd rather avoid any acrylic-laquers, can't really handle the fumes nor the clean up. Waterbased acrylics are my go to.
>>
>>23986399
Aqueous and tamiya paints are actually very mild. They're about as harsh as breathing around an open can of beer. The harsh parts are the thinners people use for them but you can get around that by using thinner that doesn't have bad fumes.

I legitimately like some of the custom megami device decals because they're pretty cute. I like the 0_0 crying one and even the only slightly lewd heart pupil one with the drooling mouth there.
And it's a real shame because they're always packed with the hardcore hentai ahegaos one. Like, I only like my girlpla slightly lewd. Shame that all the sellers I saw sell all of those in a package.
