They can contemplate their actions just as well through there. Timeouts should have a public element of sorts, even a little. Maybe even add in some teasing and schadenfreude elements if your feeling particularly cruel. I wish more stories with time outs had teasing in them. You can even get some good use out of pre-spanking time out teasing to both humiliate the spankee and increase the anticipation and fear factor of the upcoming spanking.Maybe even combine all of them.
