Stallions being faggots is due to the exaggeration of most RGRE fics to force a story out of them. I wouldn't like having to live in a town with other stallions that constantly exhibit flamboyant faggy behaviour due to preference, but I wouldn't imagine it would be the case in day to day life even if they are the coddled sex, everypony would have their own lives and worries to contend with. I also hate the uneven mare/stallion birth rates in some fics. They are pretty much creating a large portion of marecels in their stories for no reason, and no, polygamy is also stupid and doesn't fix that.
