A fun representation/stand-in of obnoxious fandom snobs if you treat him like a generic comic book guy. Patton Oswalt really gets the idea across in a grating and successful way. The stepdad thing was handled as well as any S8/9 social commentary, but it worked well enough with "nerd guy doesn't understand sports". The design being literally Daring Do was fucking stupid though.
