started lurking /b/ about 8 years ago
found my way to /mlp/ and started watching the show
never posted because my parents actually taught me internet safety and I was super schizo that someone would find out
after the enshittification of the entire site circa 2016 I left and came back two years ago
/trash/ and /mlp/ were relatively in tact but /trash/ has fallen off in the last year and /mlp/ has slowed quite a bit
I also pop into /f/ occasionally for a nostalgia hit

I loved Gurren Lagann when it came out so I'd go looking up forums discussing the show. I then found the zone-tan animated /v/ rage videos on YouTube which led me to this place. I had been browsing /b/ and /x/ for several years already when the fandom really started taking off in 2011. I was here on this board from the start and took a break from it from 2014 to 2021. I mostly posted on /r9k/, /co/, /tv/, /fa/, and /mu/ during those years which helped me get laid. Pandemic hit and the poni poni fever has been twice as strong. At some point I think I was the youngest poster on this website around 2009 when I was 9 years old. That is unless you know of any other 9 year old who posted here but I wouldn't be surprised if there were.

Must've been some QUALITY jokes and opinions, bro.

I'm on that Milennial/Zoomer cusp but my siblings and peers are all much older, so I have very little zoomzoom in me. I must've been 10 or 11 when I started using 4chan a while before FiM dropped, yet I actually lurked for 2 years before posting, then did post only rarely before I was college-aged. You're probably Anglo, I'm ESL; to me it was an active effort to understand what's going on around here when I had only begun studying English. I could only watch as I was missing out on ALL the early fandom merch, including the eBay auction of several original Faust sketches such as of Discord. Thanks to 4chan, subbed animu and English-speaking cartoons (including poni), my language skills are breddy gudd by now.
>>
>>41295018
Happened to see some ponies, remembered this board exists, came here, been stuck here for the past three years. I actually first got into pony back in 2011 but dropped out after season four.
>>
>>41295196
I'm full ESL but I spoke English more fluently than my mother tongue at age 2 so it was a matter of getting the references and colloquialisms rather than understanding the language itself. Lurking the forums of Encyclopedia Dramatica, Gamefaqs, and watching Alfred Alfer on Newgrounds is where I learned a bulk of what I know about Western culture. As for my sense of humor, it was the worst. I was a fucking 4chan basedboy openly professing my love for Anonymous back and shitting on my 9Gag loving classmates back in 2010. Embarrassing stuff.
>>
>>41295201
You had internet access at age 2 and can speak English better than your mother tongue?! You are fucking kidding us all?! Please say you are kidding! This would be the most sad, fucked up life I have ever witnessed.
>>
>>41295202
We had a computer back then that belonged to my aunt. I vividly remember her browsing scary geocities websites made by alleged cannibals back in the day. My uncle also used it to play the MMORPG, Ragnarok. I mostly played flash games during that time and learned how to animate in flash around 2007 so I could be like the animators that I looked up to. I did all of that just to become a normie when I turned 18. That was probably the most "sad and fucked up" part. Good thing I retvrned.

I found this site when I was like 11, starting watching MLP not long after. Stopped watching MLP when I was like 13 or 14 when Twilight became an alicorn, got back into shitposting about them a few months ago. Idk if I'll start watching again, every time I think about watching it as a bearded 20 something year old I feel like an absolute sperg.

I’m more or less in the same boat with age and appearance, except I’m knee deep into my first run through the entire series since it premiered. Over time I’ve become completely unapologetic about liking pone, and now I typically watch the show when I’m at the gym (with headphones of course) to try and find other, stealthier ponybros in the wild. They’re more common than you’d think. Just be you, anon

Dude I would not tell ANYONE irl that I still keep tabs on this shit. Maybe I'd tell my future wife if I walked in on her one day after coming home early and found her wearing a pony shirt that she'd hidden while watching the show. MAYBE. How I didn't become a pariah for drawing Fluttershy in the middle of class is beyond me.
>>
>>41295018
I technically discovered this board due to an IHE video back in 2016 after I've left the fandom, but I didn't care to look at it until quite recently (perhaps late 2023 or 2024?)

I'm sticking around because I like mares and this place reminds me of how the fandom used to be back in 2014. The community has changed too much compared to /mlp/, mostly due to an influx of commies and trannies. So it's nice to have a place where I can be a proud horsefucker and say the Z-word.
>>
Thinking about the amount of actual zoomers trickling in is both heartening and worrying. On one hand, new posters coming in post-finale is still necessary for this board to stay afloat. On the other hand, I'm used to thinking of myself as an eternal newfag, and yet there's going to be an ever-growing population of posters for whom events that are, to me, very recent are just historical fact for them.

For example, how many people posting on this board right now joined after "snowpity" became a meme, and for them it's basically always existed? In my mind, it's still a recent phenomenon: having happened a couple of years post-finale, it's practically brand new. One of the most notable memes of "recent /mlp/", contrasted with the ancient classics from the early days.
But the proportion of posters for whom the difference between snowpity and IWTCIRD is nothing more than a year number in the archive - for whom, both are basically long-staying memes that were already here when they joined, the normal status quo that's always existed as long as they've been posting - will only ever grow with time.

How soon until the majority of the board population has never even experienced the rise of mareschizo posting, and the shift from "I love pone" to "I love mares"? This isn't even something that's talked about all that often, so even diligent lurkers and archive-divers might not pick up on that for a while; how many people are posting here now, today, and aren't even aware that the word "mare" wasn't always an ubiquitous catchphrase on the board?

Things that are recent history and new developments in my mind are slowly becoming facts of life, "just how it's always been", or at best historical footnotes to a growing portion of the population.
Being an eternal newfag may not be all that eternal after all.
>>
>>41295595
I got here just after snowpity became a thing and it still feels new to me too.

Idk if I'm a zoomist or a millennial since I was born right between the two and have nothing in common with either, but I migrated to 4chan a year or so ago after I realized the reddit mlp community is full of children, adult children, and fucking losers. I also got permabanned for calling people rude names and threatening to eat someone's dog (not kidding unfortunately). But here I can say the N-word and the people are actually cool, so I'm much happier. It's ironic that 4chan gets such a bad rep when the only difference from other sites is a lack of any filter and algorithm. Redditors are just as shitty except they're passive aggressive and condescending. People here have more of a sense of community, and since there isn't an algorithm I don't need to feel like I'm being lied or pandered to like on Twitter or Instagram.

I'm pretty much a newfag, but I've done my fair share of digging through the archives of days gone by. Same with generals too, I distinctily remember when I joined in late 2014 the landscape of the threads that existed at the time was like the status quo for me. Later on I found out that some long-running threads had actually started quite shortly before I started lurking - such as /fimfic/ which literally started its life as a proper general in like early or mid 2014 IIRC.

I wonder how many people now feel like the tf2 general or even /opg/ are just "things that /mlp/ has" because they joined after those threads were started.
Like fucking hell, if you joined 6 months ago, /opg/ being always near the top of the catalog is probably the normal status quo for you.

I’m extremely new to not only this board but 4chan as a whole. It was actually the Pony Preservation Project that led me here about 5 months ago after I found a few AI pony videos on youtube.

Initially I only visited this board for that particular thread. But one look at the greater catalog and I realised that I had found a better pony community than 99% of other places on the internet. I had almost come to terms with all pony places on the internet being either dead ruins or full of literal toddlers with an internet connection.

I fell in love with this board in such a short time. Even though it’s only been a few months, I’d like to think that in that time I’ve picked up the board culture fairly well from visiting here daily. The show might be over but as long as new blood continues to find their way here slowly, this board and culture is going to stick around for a while. Most of us(including me) are just too obsessed to leave anyways.
>>
>>41295018
Born 7th January 2000. Joined the ride June 2011. MLP has been a bigger part of my life than my time alive without it. I'm eternally stuck in the 2011-2015 period of my life because thats when I was the most obsessed. Then due to the slow decline in quality of the episodes I lost my entire interest, especially due to the the season 5 episode 23 and the following lady gaga episode. Those episodes sucked so bad that after the season 5 finale I quit watching and basically stopped paying attention to the show until the finale aired. Since then I've watched where I left off at a snails pace. Sadly the quality of the show isn't recovering and I dread reaching the creature 6 arc. Seasons 1-3 is all I need, there's enough material there to last me til' I croak.

>>41295595
You caught the sensation of the passing of time quite well. I've never really lurked /mlp/ much until 2019 despite being a brony close to birth. So I recall quite many old milestones, being present (although a mere child) at Derpy's first voicelines, the buzz 'round Cupcakes, the 100th special, story of the blanks etc etc. Shit's ancient by now but still feel current and indicative of what it means to be a brony. Nowadays the kids are talking about that snowpity, mares, horsefucking. I personally enjoy those things but it is in a weird ironic way, as a desperate attempt by me to cling to a subject matter that screams 2010's and my childhood, as I am maturing into a man no longer innocent. I am having trouble letting go, and I don't want my esoteric horse knowledge to go to the bin without good reason. I'll forever be a shadowbrony, only ever letting those absolutely closest to me know this dark side of me, and I find this almost cheering to myself.
>>

I’m not gonna send you a picture of my asshole. My cousin is gen alpha and I’ve literally caught the guy lurking here sometimes.

It's good to hear that there are so many newfriends. I got into pony at around episode five of season one, and I had been a 4chan regular for half a decade by that time. I mostly dropped the pony stuff when the show ended, and coming back to places like this and Equestria Daily feels like walking through a graveyard compared to what things were like during the peak years. It's cool that the fandom is kept alive.
>>
>>41295906
>Shit's ancient by now but still feel current and indicative of what it means to be a brony.
Thanks anon, you've revived my feeling of being an eternal newfag. Having just missed the first few golden years, those are the things that are "ancient history from an unspecified time past" that have always existed from my perspective.
And I'm even older than you - I'm from that late 90s period where some people will call me a zoomer and others a millenial, depending on which generation they dislike more, and meanwhile I don't really connect to either - so having an actual zoomer be the oldfag to my newfag is fascinating.

>>41295906
>Sadly the quality of the show isn't recovering and I dread reaching the creature 6 arc.
I often say that one of the biggest benefits of the show having ended is that there's no longer a "current season" that you "have" to be up to date on - the entire show is now out as one complete entity for everyone to peruse at their leisure. Back when it was airing, ignoring seasons 8 or 9 basically left you out from the people still actively watching the show, but now it only leaves you out from that tiny minority who care to discuss them - which, given their quality, is tiny indeed. So it's much, much easier to ignore all the parts of the show that are shit, and only enjoy the ones that are good.
>Seasons 1-3 is all I need, there's enough material there to last me til' I croak.
That's the spirit. Regardless of where you set the cutoff of purity, it's really easy to do it nowadays and just ignore everything else.
Make sure you watch the specials too, both Rainbow Roadtrip and Best Gift Ever are pretty soulful and very out-of-place compared to the garbage of the mainline show episodes that were airing at the time.

Technically, I was vaguely aware of the fandom at age 10 (2012-2013), but didn't watch the show until I was 18 (2020). I probably wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for the fandom that existed on the imageboards.

I came here sometime in the winter of 2023 when I was looking for information on AI models (I only really got interested in mares in December 2022, after I discovered character.ai).

I stayed here because there are very few real horsefuckers on Russian forums and boards.

I've always known about this place but I stayed away from 4chan for the longest time because of all the "ironic" racism and such (one of the first posts I ever saw on here when I finally did take the plunge was literally just some picture of a black guy in a brony t-shirt where the caption was something like "WHAT IS THIS NIGGER DOING IN OUR HU-WHITE FANDOM????"). But i've learned to just deal with the stink and respond in kind
>>
>>41295969
Probably nhnb or /mlpol/.
Problem is whenever something gets nuked, a lot of people usually don't really gather anywhere in an organised manner. Only a small subset of users will bother migrating somewhere else as refugees. I'd be very pleasantly surprised if our bunkers actually get used in such an event, but cynically, I fully expect there to basically just be a small circlejerk of expats huddling together, a mere shadow of the former /mlp/ and nothing at all like a proper migration.

So I'll probably take part in those circlejerks, until and unless they become circlejerky enough and dead enough that even they aren't really worthwhile, and then probably drift off to quietly enjoy pony on my own without really talking to anybody about it
>>
>>41295969
Ponychan, nhnb, derpi/twibooru, create a whole new image board site for poni
>>
>>41295987
>create a whole new image board site for poni
That would unironically probably hurt things more than help them, unless there's unanimous feeling that one is needed. If the desire for one isn't unanimous, it would probably only just split the remaining userbase even more, leading to every place being even deader.
Even if the existing places aren't ideal, users tend to not like migrating a lot (for example, /mlp/ has tons of flaws yet is still orders of magnitude more active than all of the alternatives combined). It'd be better to try to change existing websites (nhnb, /mlpol/, ponychan...) to be better, or deal with what exists if they refuse, than to fragment the userbase even more when some people migrate to your alternative but others staunchly refuse and in the end everyone is worse off.

Autistic ponyposting tirade on the rest of this website. This board is my home, no place can replace it, no /mlpol/, no NHNB, nothing would feel the same way, so if this place ends up dying due to the mods wills, I'll just spend my time ponyposting everywhere else, bans be damned

I don't think i'm very racist. I mean, I grew up around people of all different races and cultures while still being connected to my black identity through family. A big reason I stopped supporting BLM and the black left is because that for all their talk about "racial reckoning" and "a national conversation" they didn't want to improve race relations or make things better for the community at all. They were just using the death of George Floyd as an excuse to bash whites. I love my people, but I couldn't get behind that. We were taught MLK's mantra that you shouldn't judge people by the color of their skin but the content of their character and I believe that should extend to everyone
>>
>>41295595
I'm not a zoomer (escaped by almost 2 years), but nevertheless I think people born in those years share a close kinship with the first zoomers, especially culturally.
I actually recall the day moot created /mlp/ following the months long ban on pony content site-wide. The cultural shift that occurred on the internet in that time was completely unheard of. An internet subculture went from an almost insignificant little subgroup to a raging tide in a matter of months.
Every single site was inundated with mlp content, people using ponies in their profile pics, sharing memes, music, art etc across their socials. In 2013 there wasn't a single place you could go to on the internet where you wouldn't see something MLP related.
To me, all of this was both a few years ago and over a decade ago at the same time. I'm fully aware all of this happened in 2012/13, but the memories are so vivid it almost feels like it only happened a few years ago.

All these people joining, the hard-set zoomers born in 2000+ who joined after the show ended, they have this history at their fingertips, an entire generations efforts and experiences packaged in a long archive of countless creative works and threads. But no matter what new memes are created post-finale, they will never have what we had, the first hand experience, being their when it all happened, when for that brief and glorious moment, MLP was the zeitgeist.

You severely underestimate the number of children who were given free reign over their family's home computer or smartphones during pony's height. The fandom has always been majority target audience. Anyone born before the XBOX 360 can remember when pony was the big thing.
>>
>>41296194
Not a bad assessment but I think you're missing an entire age cohort there.
People who were here during the peak, in 2011-2013, are pretty much going to be pre-zoomers. Assuming you have to be in your teens to participate properly, ideally even mid-teens, that means pre-2000 at least and probably like 1996-1998 or older. Even the most conservative classifications put zoomers at 1996 or later. So if you got here during the golden age (and weren't a pre-teen kid going terminally online), you're pretty much a millenial.
Meanwhile the ones who only joined post-finale, meaning post 2019, are the ones born quite a few years after 2000 - again, saying teens to mid-teens, that's the 2004-2006 cohort. Clear zoomers, even almost bordering on gen alpha (especially since "after the finale" includes people joining today - someone born in 2010 would be a 14 year old alphfag now and could realistically find and join the board today).

But everyone around 1998-2005 or so would be in the cohort where they probably joined somewhere between 2014 and 2019, depending on the age they got online and how quickly they found MLP and/or /mlp/. I joined in late 2014/early 2015 and I can tell you that, while things were definitely much more active than they are now, I really felt very clearly that I had joined the tail end of a golden age, that I had missed the peak, that zeitgeist you're talking about. Ponies were common on the internet, but most places were moving on. There was a huge trove of memes and content, but the current creation rate didn't match it. There were tons of early creators held up as legends - but they had already disappeared by then, some stopped producing, some slowed down drastically, some moved to other places, some disappeared from the internet. You could clearly see the traces of something amazing, but it was also already clearly in the twilight ages.

Now in the past decade, lots of things have happened, I witnessed a lot of history, and of course things slowed down even more to where the 2014-2015 age looks like a boom compared to current times. But the fact is that I never experienced that true peak, the real golden age; for all the time I've been here, I've only ever witnessed slow decline - that's all I've ever known. The experience of seeing things blow up and grow is something that I will never share with anyone who was here just 2-3 short years before me, while that experience of decline and the setting twilight is something that I share with pretty much every zoomer and alpha who's joined at any time from 2015 to today.

All this to say that
>I think people born in those years share a close kinship with the first zoomers, especially culturally
The "first zoomers" make up exactly that cohort of 1998/1999 to 2004/2005. And the only ones who share that experience of witnessing the peak are either the VERY first zoomers, literally 1997-1998, or maybe the lucky few who found this place as particularly young kids and still enjoyed it.

I've definitely noticed how a lot of the nu-fandom is made up of people who were in the the target audience when the show first premiered. If you were a 7 year old girl at the height of pony you'd be an adult by now which is wild to think abt

I’ve been here a little under half of my whole life, since between Seasons 1 and 2 of FiM if I had to guess, because I remember being here for the Crystal Empire shit. I think I found this place I shit you not through Icanhascheezburger and thought it was awesome, I only browsed /mlp/ and /asp/ until a few years ago. Though I’ve been into poni my whole life, I was raised with six sisters who all like Ponies by a single mom so MLP is just a part of my life I have no interest in leaving behind.

98’ zoomer. Started watching the show in late 2011. Used to browse mlpchat for a couple of years before I discovered 4chan. First went on /b/ in summer 2014 to see just how degenerate it was. Decided to look at all the other boards and saw /mlp/. My mind was blow that the poners had their own board and I’ve been here ever since.
Also just realized I was 13 when I got into the show and I’m now 26, so half my life has been dedicated to poniponi.

>>41296051
No, I very readily admit that I will get off on the idea of being gangbanged by zebras and treated as their property, just as I do for ponies and griffons, whether male or female or futa.
But I have a burning hatred for ponies being subjected to it. That is vile, disgusting, and repugnant even at a moral level.
These two are not in conflict. The former is about getting fucked by someone, the latter is about destroying, degrading, and dragging down a person or even group. When others get off to characters being involved in zebradom they are not doing it out of attraction to the zebras, they are doing it out of envy for the characters on the receiving end. They enjoy the character being debased, humiliated, and corrupted. It's the same as cuckshit, which makes it no wonder why there's so much overlap.

I was born on the turn of the millenium and started browsing in 2013ish, or at least I first looked at the board a little before then; it took a while for me to become a regular user because I was in middle school and I wasn't sure if I wanted to dive into evil 4chan. My approach was via cheezburger >>41296297, I actually browsed mylittlebrony for a long while beforehand, it was my front page of the fandom. I remember the massive disappointment of EQG and twilicorn drama - I don't recall if I was here on the board for the height of it when stuff came out, but I was definitely here when people were still really mad about twilicorn. I started tulpamancy soon after regularly browsing the board, crazy to think about.

OP here. I originally made this thread to see if there were any underageb& tiktok teens sneaking in here for whatever reason, I have my suspicions. It's nice that a ton of you 20 somethings joining in; it makes me less worried about the future of this board and fandom. Some of you have been here for a good chunk of time while others of you are very fresh newfags, that's good to see as well. >The show might be over but as long as new blood continues to find their way here slowly, this board and culture is going to stick around for a while

The interesting and nice thing is there is a silver lining to all of the wider fandom and other sites becoming desolate/abandoned/shuttered/etc... and even with /mlp/ becoming slower over the years. It was incredible to watch from early 2011 onward, as over the years pony had its surge of popularity, it's run of pop-culture significance, and with all of that came bandwaggoners that liked it because they could use it to look "counter-culture" and whatnot. After it became more well known and the show started to taper off, they left for other places where they could keep that "flavor of the month" hype and popularity so that they were constantly riding only the highs of things - Fairweather Faggots. Musicians got their pony run and moved on, thousands of artists moved to being full-time furries, etc...

What is left when these kind of people are gone? The ones who actually legitimately care about the actual show, content, and community, those who are personally invested in it, and most importantly - those who have a passion for it and want to see it always be its best. This passion is often called autism, perhaps rightfully so, but I believe it is still that passion that keeps this ride going and still makes pony fun and fulfilling to be a part of.

I am surprised to see the amount of newfags that have shown up since 2019 and the show ending. With G% being a dumpsterfire, and most of that part of the mlp fandom staying on twitter, it's good to see that new people are coming around and bothering to hop in to the board culture and fun of things.

Poni is an unique thing and /mlp/ is an unique board, everything about both is the result of unique conditions that will never be met again, it can't go back to it's peak, but it will endure, because it's built upon the most passionate faggots in this whole damn website. No other board would be capable of making the amount of stuff /mlp/ is capable of, even the ones that have many times more posters than we do

I was a ponyfan back before electiondrama and harambe saturated the entire internet, my original fandom hub of choice was EquestriaDaily, especially rping and chatting on nightly threads. Fell out of love with the show for a few years but still kept up by binging each half of a new season, following big fandom projects/musicians, and watching the move in theaters. During covid I fell back in love with the show and fandom and was also looking for livestreams of niggeriots, found the later at /pol/ and had streams playing in the background while lurking here. Pretty sure pic related was the first thing I got from this board.
>>41295969
>>41297399
A few years back I would have suggested /mlpol/ but recently they've put more focus into the 'pol' and less into the 'mlp'. I love my small discord circlejerks but it's shit for bringing in new people and keeping fandoms alive. And with the internet so hyper-centralized now I don't think making a new site is viable. IMO Best option would be to forcefully hijack some site that's fallen but still has some relevance, making the majority of it's content and users ponyfags. Like hijacking tumblr or myspace. That way there's still some links to the centralized internet to funnel newblood through.

This is only the second thread I've been on. I remember FiM from childhood (25 now) and the original brony subculture but was not part of it. I recalled aspects of the show though, like Derpy and Celestia. Then I gave Equestria at War a chance about a month ago and then decided to watch the series because fuck it, and from then, well, I got quite invested in the series from there, as I found the show to be extremely masculine, sweet, endearing, and almost addictive. Plus, the animation is top notch and the characters have nice depth and distinction. I'm through to the fourth season now.

I've been on 4chan for about a decade though, just never came on here. I largely stick only to /c/ and /fit/ nowadays, though years ago I spent time on /r9k/, occasionally /pol/, /his/, etc. My heart remembered Derpy the most, though, and the active thread about her was the first I went to on this board. I should note that I may not stay, as the board seems quite deranged (perhaps by time and due to its status as a containment board?), at an /a/-tier to me.
>>
>>41305608
I should note I enjoy EaW very much too, it's a nice break from regular HoI IV drivel; I wanted a change in between semesters (graduate now, not college). Also, the fact that my life is shit certainly draws me to fantasy like that of Equestria.
>>
>>41305621
Not that anyone asked, but that I am now the age at which the average brony seemed to be back in the heyday of the series is a very odd sensation to me. Stick around long enough and it'll happen to you too

My brother introduced me to poni around season 2-3. I learned about the board around the same time from pony thread simulator. I lurked occasionally up until 2020 when my love for mares was reawakend and I started posting regulqrly. Crazy how this place has been a thing for close to half my life.

>Is it worth getting if I don't draw on paper
The skills translate pretty seamlessly between traditional and digital art, though I like having a tablet because it allows me to draw whatever and however I want, whenever I feel like it. That said, the medium doesn’t ultimately make that much of a difference and everyone has their preferences, so just do whatever works for you.
>and was never much of a sketcher growing up?
As long as you have passion, nothing else matters. You’ll gain experience with time.

>Hey zoomers browsing this board! How did you find this place and how long have you been here?
You kinda make it sound like zoomers are new to mlp when a lot of anons in /mlp/ started off around middle school when the show came out. And to answer your question, I started watching the show when I was 12-13 when it first came out, but I took a break around season 4 and came back when I heard the show was near its end. I feel a little bad for missing out on the show and the culture around it when the series was still running strong and you can imagine my surprise to see some of the unflattering episodes/jokes/canonized fan theories when watching the seasons I missed.

99 baby here. I remember my first exposure to pony content was one of my friends showing me the very first anthology. From there I ended up stumbling across one of those old pony thread simulators that brought me here. I mostly lurked for fear of accidently revealing that I was underageb& . It was still very fun being along for the ride though.

I remember falling off the board(and pony) pretty hard at one point. It wasn't the wings, or the barbie stuff or Glimmer that threw me off, but it was that damn Flurry Heart episode. I was so angry when I checked the catalog before watching that episode and saw that stupid baby. I was convinced that Hasbro had, in one fell swoop, ruined everything that I cherished about the show over the years and that it was going to start appealing to babies now. Other than keeping the threads of my favorite greentexts bumped, I basically stopped engaging with anything else pony related.

It wasn't until the anniversary stream last year that I got the desire to tune in and watch the show again and remembered everything I loved about the show itself was still there. And now I'm back to checking the board daily, and trying to create what I can to make up for lost time. It's been a fun ride. I am still a little confused on why everyone on this board hates frogposters now though. That wasn't a thing when I left
>>

Post the flooters
>>

Because a demographics shift happened in /mlp/. Back then, the board was mostly bandwagoners and barbiefags who would move mountains to avoid talking about ponies. They would literally talk about different shows and politics and stuff. Frogposting is, evidently, not pony. These days, the bandwagoners were purged through a culture of forcing conversation about ponies and FiM. The culling of bandwagoners and offboarders has tons of evident advantages, including board projects and conventions that couldn't have been possible otherwise. Frogposting has thus become a counterculture symbol for non-pony, offboard, twitter liberal, barbiefag and furry content.
TLDR: Frogposting is non-pony. Gatekeeping works.

Idk how I ended up here, but I've been here since 2019. However, I only made my first thread this year.

Drifted here from /tg/ and /co/ in like 2020/2021? I really dont remember, only really started posting here cause my love for MLP has been somewhat rekindled, only lurk in some threads mostly cause I am not a big fan of the really horny and fetishy side of this board, P.S I am also the person that has been making the FOE generals again and probably be the only one to make them in the near future.

But none was responsible for so much stuff as /mlp/ is, especially after 2019
>>
I first got into pony in 2022 after a friend who’s been in the fandom for a long time introduced me and I’ve been stuck ever since. Made my way onto /mlp/ about a year ago once I noticed how much better the communities and discussions are here.

Question for you anons where do I find people who have been in the fandom for a while to talk poni with? I have the one friend who got me into pony but it’s hard to find people who are committed to the show and not a faggot.

When did I join the ride? 2011, I was 9 and it was the fad going around the lunch table.

When did I find out about this place? Opening day, saw the EqD post for it.

When did I start lurking? Once that one thread where the guy that worked at a movie theater was leaking Rainbow Rocks screenshots, I had to have been 12 or something

When did I start posting? Got real sick and tired of EqD as I grew older, right around the time we started learning more about the movie so I'd say...late 2016 post election? Ever since then I never really left. I started branching out and posting on other boards and even when I briefly grew out of pony for a bit I still came to check up on this place every few days just to keep up to date. I'm 22 now and mentioning my MLP phase helped me get laid like 3 months ago so I feel a sense of loyalty to this dumb horse cartoon. Its earned its place in my personal "thing I was into as a kid that I'll cherish forever and enjoy till I'm in the retirement home" hobbies
>>
ive come and gone on this board and first found it several months ago from long video essays regarding mlp history and the fandom. i got curious to see whats up. i get some laughs here and there from some things being said and others is just straight up sad with the petty arguments, bizarre topics and horrific concepts. but thats just the nature of 4chan so cant complain. other than that its fine.

Imagine caring about what year you lurked and started posting, I’ve probably been here for more than 2 years but who cares. Janitors are too scared to deal with the twitter namefag socialjerk menace that’s in /opg/ and other areas of the website. I do know for a fact that I’ve witnessed the deletion of the IP counter by hiroshimoot for tourist election season, so that’s fun. Normally you faggots would’ve begun rioting but you’re so weak that a 3 day ban scared you, had there been a ban log I would’ve probably been on my 20th+ ban.

Joined in Spring 2012 when I was 13. First caught my attention through Youtube Poops and Skyrim mods. I was a bit of a social pariah already, so it was nice finding a community that gave me a sense of belonging. The fandom and show was a pretty big part of my formative years, and it’s nice to occasionally come back and reminisce. I often wonder if I'd be a happier person had I stuck around with the show past season 4.

>>
>>41318036
which mare do you find the hottest?
>>
>>41318049
that's a tough one. I look mostly for cuteness in mares. but really I love them all, I've been somewhat bouncing around different favourites, twilight is great because she's a nerdy dork, and also because she's purple, I also really liked rainbow dash because of her demeanor, mane, and because she's blue, also lyra because she's blue. roseluck's mane is really pretty and nurse redheart also does something for me. I also think wallflower blush is really hot but that doesn't count as amre. In the end i'll clop to anything as long as I like the writing style or artstyle, but I also love looking at sfw arts of cute mares and lovey romance fics.

Depends on hasbro really. G4 had shit toys, and no games what really caught the attention of nerds was the show, fan works, fan merch, and it's similarities to stuff like moe anime. Of course lots of girls cartoons are like this, and they're usually still pretty niche despite having the same character tropes, and cute stuff, etc. G5's a bust let's be real we'd have to hope G6 is good enough to attract late gen Z's and early gen A's otherwise we'll all be the last horsefuckers.
