>>41558249I generally don't approve of changing the rules of the pageant on the fly. That is why I create the preliminary thread a month earlier to determine rule changes in advance. However given there seems to be a few excited at the prospect, I guess it's worth asking just how much support for a 256 bracket tourney there is here and for any who are opposed to it to speak out.Some issues with the idea that I'll put out there to begin with, just so people know what they're signing on for. 1. The actual first round will take me even longer to make: 64 match-ups to the form take quite a bit already, 128 match-ups will take even longer to set all the names/images, so be prepared for a delay. This likewise goes for the bracket image I make to go with each round, it'll take even longer to generate with 256 contestants. 2. What would you have done with the Alternates? Previously it'd been voted on that there is only one version of each character allowed to progress, unless they are voted on during the qualifier stage to be distinct enough from their original counterpart they can qualify on their own. Would you accept them all alternates in this scenario?3. How would you vote on which Mini-Brackets? Previously it was decided to allow only 8 with 16 max competitors each, and the Qualifiers form also had a poll to select which 8 you would want. Now that the main bracket is bigger, would you want more Mini-Brackets to go with it, keep it the same, choose which you want to see most based on responses in thread?One other thing to mention is that technically, with the main-bracket this year being decided on by Randomization rather than Seeding, the Qualifiers Round isn't as necessary due to no longer needing results of Seeds to find who would go up against who. Though personally I am a fan of knowing which contestant is which Seed for random bits of trivia between the round.I am delayed in making the Qualifier Round, I am giving it another 30 minutes at least both so I can properly finish it as well as give this topic any needed discussion.

For the mini brackets, keep it capped at 8, 16, or 32 if absolutely necessary. A qualifier could still work, with the top 8, 16, or 32 for whichever category making it into the mini brackets. That way, we’d have enough seeding information for trivia, and we could trim it down to 256 if needed.
