>>41590511Interstate still feels like it's in a "pre-adventure" phase to me, though a quintessential part of any good adventure is definitely there: a journey & some good changes of scenery.Pandemic, Cuddly Doom, and most Five Score fics worth their salt feature at least a smattering of varied settings that give a good semblance of progression.Semi-related tangent: I dislike the sections of Five Score fics where the characters get themselves (and likely several other ponies) together in a pony commune. It’s necessary in the OG story because the portal is a natural bottleneck, but the trope’s plentifulness in other stories makes its inclusion feel like an obscure unspoken rule despite how boring it ends up being. Some stories work themselves out of it in a manner that kickstarts the adventure again, but a lot of them get mired in the drawn-out question, “is this supposed to be the happy ending?”
