I showed my friend Tamers mlp recently and he didn't like the first episode. I can see why some people have trouble getting into the series. Rainbow Dash's Birthday Bash was needlessly gross and violent and could turn people off. It does get better with each episode. By the time we got to the Trixie episode he started liking the series.

Successful relationships happen without adjusting your assumptions.The best example of this idea is the premise of the show, philosophically. Twilight assumed NMM was coming, and then assumed the elements worked in a particular way that advantaged her, and her assumptions just happened to be or became correct. She lives in the world generated based on her most ignorant desires and fantasies, and the rest of the world is imagined to work the same way, including individual romances.

Everyone IS wrong about the gala, and so they fucking leave and try again someplace else. Blueblood and rarity didn't work out because they didn't understand eachother, yet AJ and rainbow don't understand shit anything and worked out just fine. Mlp holds this ignorance as the cause of things, but not the difference maker. It is instead simply true, the paper the world is drawn on. It's like blaming the outcome of a fight on the fact there was ground underfoot. Yes, the ground existing instead of an endless void caused the fight to go how it did, but it isn't what determined who won.Gabbyxspike works based on energy and is a pretty good example of a character just switching to a better relationship, while rarity in that episode is a clear failure to adapt who even caused harm in the ill-implemented attempt. Lastly, pearbutterXbrightmac.First bit of the episode focuses on granny and granpear and their tense professional rivalry, complete with shittalking. She discoveres bright and butter fraternizing and giggling. Ms cake, noticing she was incorrect, attempts to leave the situation. She fails, and is greeted happily by the couple, despite still interrupting their moment like she assumed she would. Birght attempted to give butter some flowers, but sneezed them all over her. This mistake was taken with great humor, and caused the giggling mentioned a moment ago. The folly is there, in greater amounts than the characters even realize or notice, but taken in stride. Granny Smith: [whinny, snort] What in tarnation are you doin', Bright Mac?! We do not fraternize with Pears!Another wrong statement, same as before. laterBright Mac: Happy one hundred and thirty-one thousand, four hundred and fifty-six hour anniversary, darlin'.Pear Butter: What? [laughs] That's way longer than we've been together.Bright Mac: I know, but it's the anniversary of the first time I called you "Buttercup". It's okay if you didn't get me anything'.Butters' push-back was correct, but still counted as a misunderstanding and was irrelevant. Pear Butter: Actually... I did.Bright Mac: A guitar? For me? Even as everything goes wrong and everyone's worst assumptions come true, she still gains something which she can focus on, simply ignoring the bad parts to the point where her kids didn't know she was from the pair family.Do not think of the gala, it is a silly place. Don't bother readjusting your expectations to take enjoyment from what actually is available. Instead, simply grab what is currently working and move to the donut shop. Get a life-partner who's basically just you and pretend that they are even more like you. Latch onto the most emotionally compelling conspirosy theories you can and then chase the path which makes you specifically a national hero.Don't think too hard about this hot-headed bitch you always fight with or the fact you're living together.Don't engage in the self-reflection which would allow you to avoid being old and alone and grey because you've got a dress-making empire to grow.Press on, and pay no attention to what makes sense.
