I mentioned what I'd do with Life Flutters By before, but now I'm completely set on restarting the story altogether and starting from scratch on FIMfiction. Looking back on it, there's a lot I don't like about what I wrote, particularly how quickly Anon and Fluttershy warmed up to each other, and I want to do the best job I can telling this story with all these new ideas I have for how to tell their story.
Once I'm done with this final update for Mating Season, I'll take a break from writing to focus on art for a bit before writing the Pinkie greentext I've been brainstorming. >After taking a deep breath, you make your way over to the table and sit down between Rainbow and Fluttershy.

“It went really well! We had a great time!” You say to Pinkie.

>Fluttershy smiles and sits a little closer to you.
>”So, come on! Details!” Rainbow urges you again.
“What, seriously? Out here?” You ask her, gesturing to the crowded tables surrounding all of you.
>”In one word, describe it!” Rainbow insists.
>You think for a moment, your mind swirling until you fall upon that one word you picked before.
“...Intense.”
>The girls around you share some hushed giggling.
>Fluttershy’s still holding your hand tightly.
>...What do they know that you don’t?
>But before you can ask, you’re bombarded with more questions.
>”What was it like?” Twilight asks you.
>”Do you need any help planning future dates?” Pinkie asks you.
>”I can understand being so enraptured with each other, but… outdoors?” Rarity asks you.

“Hey, if you think I pressured her-”
>”Don’t worry, we KNOW you didn’t put that on her.” Applejack says with a small grin.
>”The point is, we’re all really, really happy your date went so well. Fluttershy’s been wanting to go out with you for some time, and it’s really great that you’re as good as she said you’d be.” Sunset jumps in, with a more sincere tone.

”Thank you, I was all sorts of stressed about doing well.” You admit with a smile.

>”I wish I could say, it’s all really complex. I really wish I could explain everything to you, but… the point is, she got an extra boost of confidence that day. She woke up and was determined to really show you how much you mean to her.”

>Sunset is definitely dancing around the central point, but you get the feeling that you’re not gonna get out of her if you try to interrogate her.

“I just, it all feels like a setup, you know? I mean, Fluttershy takes so long to speak to me on a casual level, and all of a sudden she’s super…”

>The seating order from my left to right was Applejack, Twilight, Rarity, Sunset, me, Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow as the lights dimmed and the movie finally started. I put my arms around Sunset and Pinkie while wishing they were long enough to put around all of the girls.
"Now that the jackets are all off, I just want to say again how great you girls all look tonight!" I said. "It reminds me again what a lucky guy I really am!"

>All six of them gave an affirmative response as I took a sip from my soda and nearly did a spit take, much to the giggling glee of the girls.
"This is not a question I had ever thought of speaking," I said, "But why does my soda taste purple?"
>Many more giggles later, Rarity said "I'm sorry darling, but we played a little prank on you."
>Twilight followed up with "We put one drop down your straw is all. The rest is still perfectly normal soda."
"Well I do have to admit you caught me by surprise there." I said. "Well played. Speaking of surprises, since she hasn't appeared yet, I suppose I should be loudly asking 'Where's Pinkie?' and 'You didn't let her go to the bathroom ALONE did you? Maybe I should go check on her?'"
>The rustle of someone moving in a cheap plastic poncho was unmistakable and soon Pinkie appeared to the right. "Here I am Nonny!" she called out in a conversational tone so as not to alert the Crusaders. And she started making her way down the row of seats to me.
