Saving ggf
>>41796561Gabby is the best griffon. I would marry Gabby 100%
I was posting my dove/white lioness griffon in the other thread, might post a few of my griff gals and guys here just to put them out there somewhere else besides my computerHere's a ref I did with a bunch of different expressions to try and test different faces I could do with griffons
>>41797652Here's Galena's sister, her polar opposite personality-wise. Her name's Goethite, she's just a lil' punk. I've drawn her a bit, though nothing too crazy (nothing actually fully lined/finished atm)
>>41797662Here's actually two griffons I made; the left one, named Ginnie, actually belongs to a good friend of mine. I designed her for him as a present. The bluejay griffon on the right is Gaela, who's my longest lived gal; I've drawn a ton of her but probably not a lot that I can post... I love em both, they're good griffs.
>>41797679This is one of my latest gals, named Gill (pronounced like "Jill"). I designed her for a fic that I wrote a lil while back after finding a really neat bird called a "Crimson-collared Tanager", then mixed her with a greyish cat (called a Korat). She's more of a traditional "no-nonsense" sorta griffon, trying to make a good honest Bit by doing hard labor or defending creatures from harm. Absolutely drops her spaghetti if you compliment her at all, cute griff.
>>41797692This girl was just a one off, more of an experimental design. I wanted to try making a phoenix griffon, so that's where Gildfire here came from. The idea I had was that she was a goldsmith, but being fireproof she could actually work with molten gold by claw, molding it like clay. I thought that'd be cool. Really haven't done a ton with her yet, might use her as an NPC in a tabletop game at some point
>>41797704Besides these gals and a few other one-off designs, I have my boy griff named Geb, who is an archeology professor that specializes in the history of ancient Somnambula. He's very nebbish and nerdy, but well-meaning. I loosely based him on Daniel from Stargate SG-1, so his character arc would probably see him becoming a chad over time.He picked up a weird story quirk where he's constantly accused of committing various crimes and falsely imprisoned, which has becoming a running gag whenever he shows up in tabletop games, poor lad.I think that's all for my major griffon designs unless I forgot one. I have a couple hippogriffs too, might post those as well.
>>41797726For hippogriffs, I only got 2 right now. Cirrus Starpath is one of them; she's a "merchant vessel cartographer" by trade... obviously a pirate, though not a captain. She's a rough and tumble sorta character, not afraid to tie ponies up to get some answers. She can be pretty resourceful, too, and her pirate-talk can be charming in its own way. Also, the eye-patch is totally fake. She'll adamantly deny it, but it's true.
>>41797745Last one for now. This girl's name is Hetessia. She's a doting motherly sort, actually good with foals too. She's really into a sort of hippogriff "cult" mentality that focuses on transformation and the malleability of form, which has led to her taking up some forms of magic to help other creatures (who can't naturally change their shape) transform into hippogriffs. Pretty nifty gal, very loving personality. That's all for now. Don't wanna flood you guys with OCs, just figured it was slow rn and wanted to share all my beakers with ya
>>41797753Awesome griffs anon! Do you have any fanfic of those birbs?
>>41797745Lyra turned herself into hippogriff
>>41798180Unfortunately nothing that's easily sharable. Most of these griffons have been involved in some Tabletop games (played on Roll20.net or in a private Forge instance) and there are logs for em, but other than that, I've typed up lore for most of them to establish background stories, motivations, and lots of details to give insight into their personalities. Some have more than others for sure.Galena, for example, is a traveling bard and a poet who loves to roam around Equestria playing her lyre for any creature that is willing to listen to her songs. She gets by on donations, mostly, though her family was usually known to charge for their songs. She's a pretty gentle and kind soul, soft-spoken but also smart enough to know if a town really isn't in the mood for any music. As an aside, she's also quite good with a bow and arrow; something else her family was known for was their aerial archery skills. She carries on the tradition, but mostly as a hobby. She's also pretty resourceful with putting together decent meals with very little on hand. She can be a little naive and too trusting of strangers... and she can have explosive bouts of emotion (she lets things build up to a boiling point). Other than that, I do have more lore written for her, but that's the field notes.I'd say each griffon or hippogriff I've made has all the basics down like that but outside of tabletop logs, I haven't sat down and written a fic for em yet. I really should, though.

>>41800082...Unsurprisingly, most of them. Gaela has the most by far, but Goethite, Gill, Cirrus, and even Geb have at least one lewd. A few still don't, though; Galena has none, neither does Hetessia. Gildfire only has the one pic so she's also clean. What can I say, I love griffons man
>>41800164unf I love griffons too

>>41802175She's cute, would help preen her feathers
>>41801392she is the best griff
>>41801392All griffons are on a spectrum from Gabby to Gilda. They all fall somewhere between the two extremes.
>>41802793this they are either really sweet or tsundere
>>41802793>>41802847Yeah actually, that's about where I can classify all my gals. We've mostly got Gabby types (I love Gabby) but my crow griff is like full-on Gilda. Cirrus is pretty close to Gilda but she's more of a tomboy than a tsundere, so probably right in the middle? Huh, I'm gonna use this scale from now on for my birds. Good idea

Alright, question for you that wasn't answered in the show or even alluded to: Griffons. Do they lay eggs or is it a live birth? I say eggs because of the beaks and claws, keeps those sharp things from hurting the mom as she's bringing them into the world. What about you guys? Would you help your griffon girl hatch an egg?
>>41804026Giving live birth shouldn't be a problem.Beaks, talons an claws are all soft and unsharpened during birth/hatching (they get hard after 2 weeks)Regular birbs have a hatching tooth to help them break free, but why would griffons have one if they've evolved to give live birth?>Would you help your griffon girl hatch an egg?Absolutely, so long as it's not one of those satyr abominations. I want that Equestrian magic to do it's thing and just take bits and pieces of my DNA while keeping that baby entirely griffon
>>41804926mom gff
>>41804926this is really cute
>>41804432i like satyrs but im more inclined to belive you ether get a baby from whatever race the mom is or a human
>>41806176This is what I'd believe. If you use some sort of magic spell or something on your girl so that you can get her knocked up, the kid will be her species, but will have markers from your DNA. They will have eye color, even distinguishing features that have a direct analog to your own. Personality, even, could be close. Genetic testing would 100% reveal that you were the father, too, even if they appear to be 100% griffon. Now, down the line... they might have a mate and get a human from the pairing, maybe even just a griffon that walks bipedal. I'd say it could be a risky venture if they also don't use some sort of potion to ensure compatibility with their mates. I'm also sure that if you were the father of a griffon, they would get all sorts of racist remarks directed at them accusing them of being part monkey/ape. Could be hard for em
Posting Gabby because I love Gabby. This is Gabby when she sees me
>>41807632>Gabby Glomps (You)
>>41808149Imagine the fluff... her purring when she lays on top of you... her going a million miles an hour describing her day and how much she missed you... it's heaven
>>41808783>tfw Gabby gives you her cherry
>>41808166Gabby when she sees (You) from above
>>41809306I would catch her and twirl her around, then hold her like a kitty. Just squish that catbird, she's such a sweetheart
At least no one have posted griffons with beans or fat butts
This girl needs more love. I wonder what sort of cute voice she has?
>>41810167she looks like an angry ggf so I dont think her voice is too cheery
>>41809425
>>41810167She have a name? What is everything we know about this griffon? I feel like making some baseless headcanons.
>>41812015>>41795816This is Greta. She likes scarves.
>>41812015>>41812113Everything this post said is true. She's Greta, likes scarves, is apparently "acquaintances" with Gilda. I noticed she has a little moon locket keeping her scarf on, so I wonder if has some special meaning or it's just "cool" and she likes it? Also she's extremely pretty. I think she'd be open to starting friendships if someone approached her first and kinda pestered her a little. Likes to keep up appearances that she's a grumpy griff, though.
>>41812648I like the idea that the moon locket is important to her, but maybe she just has an interest in fashion. Maybe Greta is a bit like fluttershy with a hidden interest and talent in being a seamstress, but outwardly she's more interested in astrology. I think other griffons would look harshly on fashion as a "dumb pony thing", so it'd make sense for even a self assured griffon to not be that forward about it. Greta may be a bit less confident then the front she puts on too, like most griffons. How do you suppose she makes her living? She doesn't have a cutie mark, so it's harder to place her than the typical background pony.
>>41813139You may be onto something with the fashion angle, though she may not necessarily be the one making the clothing. Griffons do seem to like wearing hats and accessories, so maybe she trades for regal looking furs and such? Makes a little upcharge for griffons and the like, gets some good deals here and there? She definitely does something "finer" for a career; I couldn't see her being a farmer, for instance. She looks refined and even fashionable; I'm going to peg her as a trader of fine accessories (hats, furs, maybe even jewelry), something she actually really enjoys and can easily appraise at reasonable prices. She knows how much a good scarf goes for versus the max amount she could ask for a rag without making the customer balk and scoff at her.
>>41813468Griffons put on an extremely pragmatic front, so she sold her goods on that angle. Even though she cares about looking nice, what keeps you warm and what shows off your status are what sells in Griffonstone. It was after becoming closer friends with Gilda that she's started putting style forward with her store, and making sure Griffons leave with fabrics that match their feathers. Learning there are Griffons other than her who care about things like that was a surprise.Still, getting textiles of any quality to griffonstone is expensive since they don't make them there. Maybe she tries to make the best with cheap materials, or she's trying to start making fabric from scratch. Maybe she travels a lot to buy them from ponies and their other neighbors.
>>41813548I could definitely see her traveling a lot and looking for the best of the best, maybe finding fellow enthusiasts of fashion and cutting trade deals with them? She might even scout places of high fashion (one of Rarity's boutiques, even?) and see what the "professionals" are using, then integrate that into her own practice. A super cheap way for her to obtain fabrics for next to nothing would be to offer a "pickup" service for fashion shops where she basically takes their "scraps, leftovers, and junk" for "a modest fee", then she is either able to fashion them into accessories she knows griffons will adore or she finds other ways to turn them for profit... Being clever and making money not only for picking up her materials, but selling them for even more gains. Could she be so crafty?I think she'd be able to make a lot of griffons feel quite happy with their look while keeping her own nest well stocked with Bits. She has passion, cunning, and wit; Greta is a griffon that will definitely see success.
>>41795816>blue-gray scarf>moon pinLuna has a secret griffon cult?!Glory to the Moon! Mercy upon the earth!
>>41814919Griffons just use moon symbology as a way to attract Luna to protect their dreams. Ponies do the same, it's like the opposite of hanging a dream catcher to signal you want privacy in your dreams. For griffons so far away, such rituals can feel like the only way to get the princess's attention.Glory to the Moon! Mercy upon the earth brother!
>>41814919So luna is griffon deity. What if she is secretly a griffon but disguises herself as a pony to fool ponies
>>41815807Pretty Gilda
Do you think griffons like it if you give their tail a firm but gentle pull? Like, you don't yank it, but you grab and slowly pull on it? Horses apparently love this, stretches their backs, but what about a cute (and honestly superior) griffon? And how about lifting them by their tail while you're... you know?
>>41816055maybe
The all important question of our times: Do griffons purr? I say yes, absolutely.
>>41816844They aren't cats. They coo like an eagle.
>>41816862But they are half cat! I say they do both, just depends on the mood. More birdy noises when they're excited, more cat noises when they're feeling happy or satisfied
>>41816868This I like cure purring ggfs
>>41816868This I like cute purring griffs
>>41817491Looks like a nice place to live.
>>41817741I'd live there for sure, looks so advanced and cultured
>>41817877How did they end up like this?
>>41817888You don't understand, >>41817491 isn't griffonstone's last golden age, it's the upcoming one.
>>41817491When the dumb pony society fell apart. The griffon became the greatest society in equestria
>>41817902It's the Equestria we're gonna get to, one where cute griffons are the stars but ponies do show up and help cuz they're good friends with the griffs.
>>41818005Shame the portal opens to the ever free near ponyville and canterlot.it's quite a way from that backwater to Griffon territory.
what would you do if the portal to griffonstone opens
